nallik876
I frequently experience crashes, even in fake full screen mode. In the first 10-20 minutes of starting a new game (after completing the tutorial) I get an error message saying "Fallout NV is no longer working" and I immediately CTD. If I revert to a previous save in that profile, the same thing happens every 10-20 minutes. I've also installed the NV stutter remover and 4gbNV. The first thing I want to do to fix this is optimize my load order. If anyone on these forums has any experience managing load orders, your advice is greatly appreciated. Rubberduck69
I'm really no expert but i read somewhere (i guess it was in a Willow companion thread) that you shouldn't use the "merged patch" option with FNV.It was intended (and usefull) with FO3. Maybe you give it a try.

Rubberduck69
I don't say "you shouldn't". It's just something i read. On the Nexus there's a companion mod named "Willow".In the description it says something like you shouldn't merge this mod in particular and (in general) you shouldn't use the merged patch functionin FNV at all. It was meant for use in FO3. But i could be horribly wrong here :whistling:

Whoever wrote that is completely wrong and should be shunned by the entire community. This is what happens when people give advice about things they don't understand--people believe it and give others the same advice. Rubberduck69
Might be true..BUT i'm not using my own words. It's something a modder wrote. It was someone who might be considered an expert.I tend to believe him. And even if he is wrong - i'm running FNV with a list of 120+ active plug-ins. Stable. With no merged patch
luthienanarion
Let me clarify that I wasn't attacking you, and that my vehement response was entirely directed at whomever originally made that statement. Telling people to avoid creating merged patches is analogous to telling people to run FNVEdit in Master Update mode -- unbelievably bad advice. I'm almost curious enough to read the comment thread on Willow. Merging record data isn't about increasing stability, though that can be a side-effect depending on the data expected to be contained in those records. Merging record data serves the purpose of reflecting changes to records from multiple plugins that alter different parts of the same record. The most common usage is merging additions to form lists so that all of the additions are present in the lists.
nallik876
Well aside from FNVedit merge patches, does anyone have any advice on this particular load order? Because my game crashes every few minutes and I would like this issue to be resolved as soon as possible.

NV_STTraitsandPerks - NVSE.esp NV_STTraitsandPerks_Crunch - NVSE.esp NV_STTraitsandPerks_Crunch.esp ST_TraitsandPerks_WithNoBaseEdits.esp Definitely need to pick one of these and delete the rest. Powered Power Armor.esp PPA Hardened T51 PN Patch.esp PPA-PN Onyx Patch.esp PPA, like any other mod that hasn't been updated since April 25, 2011 (patch 1.3) is broken. Remove it. NSkies - Vanilla Edition.esm Weather mods are one of the first things to point your finger at when experiencing crashes. You might have better luck with stability using NVEC -- just make sure to read up on all of the things it incorporates and remove any standalone mods that do the same thing. I will never recommend Mission Mojave to anyone, but it's another option. Also, run BOSS on that load order and replace your merged patch.
