moonman3km69
I installed this mod and let it run for a couple minutes to see if it fixed a problem I was having with texture pop ins and bad frame rates. I didn't notice any improvement so I exited the game and disabled it, then tested the game for another couple of minutes without it running. Then when I exited the game did another save (on survival mode saves are automatic and not manual). This caused the game to overwrite my old save with the mod disabled. I hear this was a big no no in the forum for that mod (would have been nice to know before I downloaded it). So I was wondering if the game running for 5 minutes with the mod activated and then another 5 minutes deactivated caused any permanent damage (or made my save "toast" as the "Dev" puts it). I have a couple hundred hours on this save and really don't feel like starting the game over as I would probably lose interest as I am a full time student. Any help would be appreicated. HadToRegister
Removing a mod in the middle of a game causes scripts to be orphaned, which can cause CTDS, and long load times
HadToRegister
The unofficial patch fixes a lot of things you won't 'notice"Such as fixing broken quests, placement of objects, things behind the scenes etc..It's always good to use the Unofficial Patch
moonman3km69
What if the mod was only running for a few minutes? I ran the Fo4 Save cleaner tool and it fixed some errors. I haven't noticed any problems yet and I have about 20 hours into the save after I uninstalled it some time ago. Should I even be worried?
LucidLady
The unofficial patch fixes a lot of things you won't 'notice" Such as fixing broken quests, placement of objects, things behind the scenes etc..It's always good to use the Unofficial Patch This is just blatantly untrue. The UFO4Patch has been causing alot of people alot of problems this past week or so.It's fine to use the UFO4Patch if you have a tiny load order, but the more mods you use, the more problematic it will be.If you have anywhere near a hundred mods, don't risk using the UFO4Patch. Unless you've got your load order on lock. If you enabled the UFO4Patch and then disabled it in the middle of a playthrough, that's not good. It's never good to remove a mod mid-playthrough, but it's especially risky to remove a mod such as the UFO4Patch. Even if it was only running for 5 minutes. You don't have a single save before enabling it?If your load order isn't large (as I mentioned before) then just keep the patch enabled for the rest of the playthrough. However if you'd really prefer to have it removed, just run a save (where it is disabled) through ReSaver and clean up any orphaned script instances. Installing or uninstalling any mod midway through a play-through is a dangerous and potentially fatal act. You can kill a save and a game half a dozen different ways and not know for days, weeks or longer. My advice, bite the bullet now, and start a new game. And use the UFO4P mod. It fixes far more than anyone imagines. Fallout 4 is a far better game with UFO4P than without.
SKKmods
What if the mod was only running for a few minutes? Seriously ? That's as sane as the 5 second rule if toast hits the floor butter side down ... shurly not enough time for the germs and cat hair to jump on (or, to clear the analogy: scripts to run) ! Balx2
So you are saying you have *NO* other saves on a hundred hour plus play through that you can revert to?When mod testing don't save, don't quick save, don't exit save. Or don't use your big play through to do it on.
