Joshles2020
Heya guys, I've not been on the Nexus for years, just wondering if Mods now come in packs ala Minecraft for Fallout 3, New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim if so where should I be redirected to? and if not, if and when Nexus may start putting Mods into Packs, I remember years ago it took forever to download all one's favorite mods, thanks in advance guys
gnarly1
The best place to start is a highly underutilised webpage called: google.com. Enter the phrase "modpacks for <gamename>" Read on.

Rabbit1251
Greetings, Joshles. For various reasons the Nexus does not support mod packs. Sorry. The Rabbit
Mktavish
The problem with mod packs is ... The work to make it possible ... first assumes the mods themselves are like mere rocks in the soil to be mined and used as the mod pack creator see's fit.Hence the nexus trying to say the creators of those rocks still matter , would explain friction against the free creation of said mod packs. Also any mod user , is free to do said work for their own benefit. They are just not free to do said work ... monetize it , creating a whole new vein of mod work without recognizing the initial work that made their line of work possible in the first place. Pretty simple concept when you think about it  Now if these mod pack creators want to do their work for free as a benefit to the whole.Of course the mod creators themselves would allow it , as they did the work in the first place as such. It's f*#@ing evil to monetize that which was freely given ... PERIOD !At the very least , open a discussion with a sense of fairness.
Mktavish
Good luck on your journey of mod pack downloads. Eventually you might figure out they are similar to snake oil salesmen ? Nothing is going to replace being aware of how to package mods. But it goes without saying that some fisherman are going to reel in some fish. Are you trying to suggest in a vague but edgy way that modpacks are a scam? *technical term meaning involuntary neuron spasms. Are you trying to suggest in a vague but edgy way that modpacks are a scam? *technical term meaning involuntary neuron spasms. The body of what I meant was found in mod pack creators using mod creators like ore to be found in rocks. The rest was my musings expounding on that.Buying a package of mods is no where near a replacement for understanding how to package mods. But you are right ... there are going to be people who want the easy button ... hence they will pay. So the question is ... should the mod packer glean all the money , or should they pay a portion to the mod creators ?Do you want there to be more mods to package , or should we just move on and treat it like packaging mods is the only thing worth paying for ? Joshles2020
Thanks guys, and Mktavish, I didn't say anything about monetizing mods, I'm with you, I think its all bad, and I wasn't referring to Microsoft-Mojang Minecraft Mod Packs, I meant Old School Mod Packs, y'know, like Tekkit or Feed The Beast? The Free Ones? Sorry if I've upset you guys, it was an honest mistake, I seriously forgot that Microsoft now sell Modpacks as I haven't been gaming online in years so I've not been totally up to date on Gaming News, sorry again, all I was asking if anyone's published Free Mod Packs/Compilations here on the Nexus Edited August 29, 2020 by Joshles2020

Contrary to what someone stated earlier, the Nexus does support modpacks as automatic installer utilities (like Wabbajack) can hook into the Nexus API to download mods according to a predefined mod list. Wabbajack is free, as are all of the modpacks although the author compiler of one modpack charges for early access to each new release. Although he might not anymore as he got a bit of heat for it. I didn't find a modpack for FO3 when I looked about a month ago. Now let's hope that this thread doesn't devolve into an argument about the pros/cons of modpacks, because that would be thread hijacking.
