Decent Mage Robes.

Let's get this out of the way: I am SICK, and TIRED, and FRUSTRATED of all the poor-effort mods to add "New" and "Unique" robes to Skyrim. I am SICK, and TIRED, and FRUSTRATED at the amount of mods that are...

A) Reskins of Psijic Robes

B) Greybeard Robes with unique (Read: OP) enchantments.

C) Recolors of the vanilla College Robes.

D) Reskins of the Shrouded Robes.

E) ALL OF THE ABOVE.

I want something truly unique. Truly new. Something with effort put into it. If I knew how to build meshes and textures, I'd do it myself! I've seen TONS of awesomely put-together armors and weapons, but they're always for warriors or rogues/thieves. There's no love for magi, and it makes me very, very sad.

There's a mod called "Well Dressed Mage" that is VERY CLOSE to what I'm looking for: Something with a little effort, that looks more than decent. It's got baggy leggings, some variants have awesome sleeves, and the mantles are just... Yes. But the lack of shirts in it is why I have an issue with it.

If we could get THAT kind of look and effort with a set of robes, as well as it covering some more skin at the same time, I will fall in love with the modder that shows me this.

You don't always have to wear robes, you know.

There are some interesting clothes in the game, and if that's not enough to you, there is an awesome mod I use for my monk (way of the monk, also an awseome mod) character.

''Actualize Apparel'' has a pretty big crafting menu. Just walk up to a forge and craft them. (hundreds of clothes) you'll need linen wraps for every one of these clothes, and some other items, like leather, and leather strips, some ingots or even alchemy ingredients.

As I said, it's an awesome mod.

Robes are the main feature of being a Mage. Some Clothes look good, but they need to be enchanted to be effective for a Mage.

I've checked out Way of the Monk, it just adds vanilla robes with enchants that suit the mod's purposes. I don't mind that, but I'm not Unarmed. I'm a Mage.

Actualize Apparel is... Well, it's the opposite of what I'm after. It allows crafting of a bunch of vanilla outfits as well as recolors of most of the outfits, nothing that WORKS for what I have in mind.

You can always just enchant the clothes you made. (or not if you're too lazy, then ignore everything I say after this  )

Don't need to stick to the pre-made stuff, you know.

Also, I didn't say why I used Way of the monk. I use it because of the unique skil system, not the robes that come with it.

(AA gives me all the clothes I need anyways)

Imagine having, say 180 armor rating while wearing no armor at all. Only because you've trained your monk skills.

I try not to sound like douche, but after all, it was request.

And there's quite few things that suit the need, and none of the suggestions (yet) is helping at all.

Anyhow, If you are looking for nice robes:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29605

Even if they are pretty much retextures/ minor edits, those are one of the really few actual robes around.

Also, as weird as it might sound:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25846
Tera pack.
I am not huge friend of the "Hey look at ma' chest"- types of clothing, but there is plenty that cover skin, look good, and with slight texture changes could be made to fit in Skyrim.
(I think someone was actually working on that kind of retextures..)
I'd recommend checking it out.

Other than that? I don't really know.
If I'd be any better at editing meshes (Read: Actually able to edit them) I'd gladly make some mage- like clothing.

Yes, Im in full agreement. Is the lack of unique mage robes due to limitations in the CK ? Raistlin Robes are the best generic mage robes on Skyrim Nexus imho, but they are still just generic mage robes. Its like the imagination is not there in developing robes. I wish I was able to mod some robes myself.
