Lore question: Why does the Institute not just teleport Synths into the Glowing Sea to get Virgil?

Good afternoon everybody!

This is something that I always wondered about:

Why does the Institute not simply teleport lots of Synths into the Glowing Sea to get / kill Virgil?

Is there any lore explanation for this?

Does the radiation interfere with the teleportation stuff or something like that?

(If so, the Glowing Sea would be an ideal location for a Railroad - HQ, because the Institute can't just teleport lots of Synths in there to destroy them ...)

I know that there are many "plot holes" and "unexplained things" in Fallout 4, but maybe somebody knows ...

Yes. Teleportation for synths is not easy which is why most teleport into the building directly above the institute. While teleportation is possible elsewhere it appears that they need the coordinates to do so successfully. In this case they don't really know where he is as the Sea is vast and dangerous. The Railroad wouldn't want to setup there either for the same reason as it would be very difficult to come and go not to mention expensive.

Oh, ok, makes sense ...

Yeah, now that I think about it, Virgil himselfs says that "the primary insertion point is in the ruins of the CIT" when you have to track down the Courser ...

And large ammounts of radiation aren't good for any sensitive electronic equipment (you might get some "bit flips" in memory for example or other weird stuff ...).

There is apparently a whole Wikipedia article about this stuff ...

For someone who is interested in electronics, the is really interesting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiation_hardening

And yes, the Glowing Sea is pretty big ...

And the Institute is all about "efficiency" when it comes to Synths, so why waste hundrets or even thousands of Synths just to track down one man ....

So, all in all:

If you want to be "safe" from the Institute, the Glowing Sea is perfect.

But that's the only "safe thing" about it ....

Yeah, they are something different ...

But it makes sense that they attribute that "weird trait" that they have to a "god", that's what people do when they can't explain something ...

So it makes sense that they belive that "Atom has blessed them" ...

I always liked the CoA, they are just something "different" and it is cool that there is an option in FarHarbor to support them.
