minjumaraj7x
Hi, I have cbbe cuz I thought that was the more popular one but it seems there's more unp clothing/armor out rn. Is unp/ uunp becoming more popular with the sse modding community than cbbe in 2020? Sorry if this has been asked alot, just want updated most recent opinions from the modding community. Thanks
HadToRegister
Well, the way I would quickly determine that would be to go to the Skyrim SE mod site, type in a search for UNP, count the results, then type in CBBE and count the results

UNP has a lot as well but you can choose the UNP preset with CBBE and use all of them
Callahan123
CBBE. But - what about the requirements of the UNP Armor Mods, won´t they all cry after an missing unp file?
DoctorKaizeld
Pretty sure most requirements don't technically need unp and some can be replaced with cbbe alternatives. Not sure which specifically need unp though
VulcanTourist
But - what about the requirements of the UNP Armor Mods, won´t they all cry after an missing unp file?Nope. In order for that to happen, the armor mod would actually have to specify the body mod as a master (assuming that it has a plugin to declare). I don't have a single CBBE-based armor mod that declares CBBE or CBBE 3BBB as masters, and they shouldn't; it's not necessary for them to be able to use the body replacer's assets. Some do in fact declare other masters beside Skyrim.esm, notably Heels Sound.esm. Has there ever been a UNP armor mod that declared the body replacer as a master? G4M3W1NN3R
Both CBBE and UNP have an Abundance for reference i have about 150+ CBBE armor mods, 3 of which have about 300+ armor mods inside them combined. so already we are looking at way beyond 300+ armor mods made specifically for CBBE or with CBBE Support, then the rest are either converted mods from UNP to CBBE (such as all of DX Armor mods, which i love) or vanilla based armor mods converted to CBBE and, armor mods made specifically for CBBE . (i am pretty much obsessed with downloading every armor mod to exist, its because of my love for customization, and character creation, that these are the mods that always appeal to me) i literally have enough already that i could give every single female npc in the game a unique armor, and not a single 1 will be identical to the other, plus my own character and followers lol. so ye customization and diversity means quite a lot to me as armor mods are not just for looking cool, they are more then that, such as giving your Character, Character, defining the character, etc etc, it really helps when it comes to role playing as well as immersion. the armor mods mentioned is not including the many more i have on a seperate HD, eventually i will probably create a personal mod to add the shear amount of armors into the world. but that is going to be a huge process. basically, their is so many that comparing the 2 body replacers, armor mod support is largely pointless (for CBBE their is literally more then you could ever use, even after given every single female npc a unique armor). but if i was to wager, my money would be on CBBE for sure. it imo is the Superior Body Replacer mod. its much higher quality, and offer full customization, as a serious modder that cares for all aspects of the game, especially customization, CBBE is a no brainer for me. CBBE can also mimic all UNP bodies as well. Nexus is not the only site for mods (it is just the biggest), their is a lot and i mean a lot of CBBE armor and clothing mods out their covering all sorts of creative visions of different armor types and clothing, from heavily fantasy, to more realistic, to badass, or sexy etc etc basically very diverse. ( as well as many other mods). but these mods are largely kept within their respective communities, just like here (pretty much applies to anything really). google is the key to finding these mods, and believe me their is a lot of very good high quality mods out their, you just need to search for them. VulcanTourist
@G4M3W1NN3R, you should start and curate a Wabbajack mod list whose sole purpose is to collect every single CBBE armor mod that has ever been published. :-)
stoopidbut
My opinion is geared more towards stability, I can't help but favor a stable game that plays well with others. I find UNP to be a lot more stable than most CBBE mods. UNP also seems to have a LOT of outfit mods that work great. CBBE seems to be more geared towards the legacy Skyrim, not so much "Skyrim SE". UNP requires less mods overall to get beautiful looking characters, UNP works GREAT with the Bijin series and HDT physics seems to work a lot better with UNP than CBBE. I tested CBBE out a LOT the past few weeks and I had a lot of saves crash with it and had to rebuild several save games. So far I have yet to wipe out a save playing with UNP. With UNP you can get a BEAUTIFUL looking game with less than 20 mods. I use "Nexus Mod Manager" as my installer, I know there are other managers but I learned on NMM so I stick with it. Here is the base game order I use for any new save: NEED THESE FIRST 5 FOR almost ANY MODDINGUnofficial Skyrim SE PatchSKSE64 (use SKSE64 loader to launch game)SkyUIXP32MSSEFNIS Behavior (run FNIS exe before starting game) After those are installed the install order can very a bitAlternate Start (not needed, but helpful for testing)RaceMenuSkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENBAddress Library "All in one" for SKSEJoy of PerspectiveKS Hairdos SSESoS (Schlongs of Skyrim)UNP Female Body (blessed or standard, depends on preference)UNP clothing fit (male or female, or both depending on preference)Bijin WarmaidesBijin NPCsBijin WivesBijin AIOCBPHDT-SMP After these 20-ish mods are installed and working through the SKSE64 loader, you can even install Harbor and play "Skyrim Together" with minimal issues.
