YouDoNotKnowMyName
Good evening everybody! I usually play FO4 as "permadeath", so if my character dies, I start from the beginning again.I use "Start Me Up", an alternate start mod, to start at a random location (with no gear or weapons of course, more interesting that way). But I keep dying. No, not immediatley, as you might think.(Starting with nothing at level 1 in the south is fun ...) The first few levels usually are OK, but at some point, mostly as I reach level 5 or so, I almost always die. Now, I know the "basic advice" for a permadeath playthrough:Avoid melee at all costsWatch out for molotovs, mines, ...Stay stealthy (that's my "play style", so I am ok there ...)Always have enough Jet...Maybe it is because as I level up and get better equipment, I start getting "bolder" and "take more risks" ...?Maybe it is because I never use companions?I don't know ... If anybody has any "Permadeath playthrough" tips, let me know here!(NO, I don't mean things like "this is the most overpowered weapon ...") HadToRegister
I think you answered your own question, it seems if you keep getting around level 5 you keep dying, you must stop being as cautious as you were from level 1 to 4, and start getting careless.Try playing like you did from level 1 to 4 and don't take your level for granted. YouDoNotKnowMyName
I think I found a solution:I was just on YouTube watching some videos and found a playthrough of somebody doing Fallout 4 FROST as permadeath!THAT is a challenge .... The guy said he treats every dangerous situation / encounter like an investment:You always have to ask yourself "Is it worth the ammo/health/chems/... that I will be investing into this encounter? What am I going to gain from this encounter? Is it worth it?". That's a great mindset when playing permadeath! I think I will try to apply this concept when starting my next playthrough ...
