Drohung
The only issue is the extra time it would take and how it would work for those who don't want the skeleton. It's an option for the future, as such, not a current thing.
RalinDrakus
I'd say those are all excellent projects to improve and expand UBR as it's popularity grows down the road, but for now I'm eager to see it released!
Mykonian
Guys, calm down. He just wanted to share his ideas, and he may have different opinions than you, but stop raging about these dumb things. It's just a video game. And as the other guy, I'm getting just sick of this "lore-friendly". I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but it's definitely not what makes a mod good or bad.
Voldearag
The Lykalos race makes my remaining displeasure with Argonians a lot more apparent, them being human bodies with animal heads. UBR has made a huge improvement, changing them to human torsos with animal heads and limbs, but I still don't like the torsos. The collar bones and shoulders, (especially of the females) I wish it all looked less primate, less like a model grown from a human body into a different direction and more like a different creature which just coincidentally grew into something vaguely similar to a human body. I care about being able to believe in where they came from, and I just like really alien forms, especially when they have to live in a human-shape-centric world.Still, about the Lykalos race, I love wolves! But wolf heads mounted on vertical human necks look more odd than lizard heads. Long muzzle faces need bodies that would call for them, long necks, hunched spines... new skeletons. A brand new XP32 compatible skeleton with with ankle and even toe joints is a very endearing future concept. I'm always touting Morrowind beast races as the preferential style, but looking at them again, they leave a lot to be desired too. Is it fine to wish for even more beastial beast races than in Morrowind? I want a huge contrast, District 9 level, bigger reasons for there to be prejudice. Drohung
Once again, the big problem there is not the models or skeletons, it's having to make an ENTIRE new animation set, which I KNOW I'm not even going to try to do. I tried animations once and almost broke my game. They're exceptionally hard. We need to keep some semblance of the original build with the Beast races, or they'll be TOO beastly to be usable. As I've said, I'm all for more beastly, but we need to stay within the realm of reason here.
Kavukamari
All of this kinda makes me wish that betheseda went the extra mile to make every race have a unique body mesh, and made armors dynamically fit or something, but I'm sure such a system would have just delayed the games by making armor glitchy or something, but if such a system were in place, then replacements would be extremely easy to make. I guess when you think about it, UBR could technically be the beginnings of the framework to make every race unique, obviously that would be far after the proper release, and definitely isn't the current focus at all, especially in this pre-release state. I have a question, what are the steps you have to take to change an armor from plantigrade to digitigrade-friendly? is it really involved? I'm just curious as to the general method. I have a question, what are the steps you have to take to change an armor from plantigrade to digitigrade-friendly? is it really involved? I'm just curious as to the general method. It's relatively simple. Import the armor in Blender, move legs to fit the UBR body, and export. The problem is the big amount of armors to convert, plus female versions and the full weight armor.I don't know what system Bethesda could have to dinamically tweak armors while using the same armor meshes... The other digitigrade mod clearly has problems since it's impossible to make something anathomically accurate just by changing the skeleton. The Morrowind solution apparently was using the human skeleton plus with the tail and long feet, then use different animations that make beast races walk on toes. May be another idea, but animations are really hard to make.
Drohung
A full modified skeleton and animations is possibly where UBR will go in the future. Regardless, I've gotten ahold of Damian. If he can send me the files, I only have a few more armors to adjust, along with making the unique boots for each armor, and then the mod is ready for a FULL release, not a partial release.
