You guys could just always just place this in the inventory of Miraak, seems easier than trying the whole quest thing. As for the swords magical power, you could always just use an upgraded energy attack like the Bloodskaal blade, except its the colours of the dragon aspect shout. - Or if you want something more complex you could have it charge in power while blocking and it creates a ward like energy effect that flows like air resistance from the sword and around your body as one object, with each word of the shout it increases in power. Until finally a mighty blast of raging energy.

blah6662012, i like the ideas. Since the general theme is red i wouldn't even have to change the color of the bloodskaal effect. The charging thing is also pretty creative but i'm not sure how much i'll be able to implement that. As for the quest thing im not sure if i'll just leave that to someone else or not, since its not really down my alley. However i can easily place this in the body of Miraak. I originally planned on just releasing the sword with the console command to unlock it but i like that better.

 

Twizzler77, who knows i can release two versions, the switch would not be that hard.

So i'm actually very close to being done. I've hit a bit of a predicament, though. My plan was to have certain shouts enchant the sword for a given time. The problem is I would need to overwrite one word from each shout to make it work specifically with the sword. I can take the third word of each spell and make it the second, while having the third word have no effect except enchanting the weapon when equipped. Any thoughts?

Its not a matter of having three words though. Its actually rather that i need the third word to activate two spells instead of one. For example, fire breath would normally inflict fire damage with the third word, but i would like it to do this AND temporarily enchant the sword if it's equipped. Im trying to get around this with scripting but papyrus is very limited when it comes to activating enchantments or spells.

@Catman030 For the sword charging effect while blocking, why not use the Auriel's Shield effect.

For the colour of the sword energy blast, yeah I agree just keep it the same as the bloodskaal blade effect seems easier.

Yeah either add it through console or put it in Miraak's inventory, should be easier than a quest.

I'm gonna take a look at the shield effect. The bloodskaal effect should also be easy to add. Still running into problems with having the shouts enchant the sword. Turns out the game doesn't like to allow a targeted spell (fire breath) along with a "self delivery spell" fire enchant within the same shout. Working on a workaround, though.

 

EDIT: Turns out the game will not allow it under any circumstances. That's depressing, but oh well.

 

EDIT#2: I'm actually going to implement another concept. The first word of the shout will enchant the weapon accordingly, but will not produce the usual shout effect. This should be sufficient since in most cases the second and third words are the same as the first word with a stronger magnitude.

Hmmmmm, if your looking for an activation shout/ enchantment on the sword, why not just have with each word used upon the sword it just creates a earthquake/ground tremor/stagger effect to everything around the sword user, increasing with ferocity with each word?

Which sword version are you using Twizzler77's or Ghosu's and Hotemochick1992's?
Did you get the runes on the sword to work from the rage shout thing?

I'm using ghosu's sword and the glow works perfectly with the rage of ancients shout. The rage of ancients shout is almost complete as it is. It works similar to elemental fury except with a few extra perks obviously. The problem is making the sword react to pre-existing shouts. My test shout was fire breath, where i was hoping i could make it apply a fire damage enchant while retaining the actual shout. The game doesn't want to allow this for some reason. Ive tried many scripts already, none of which have worked. The actual error occurs when trying to enchant a weapon and inflict damage in the same spell. Therefore the earthquake thing would return similar results, unless it was purely cosmetic. My final attempt on this would be changing the shout entirely when the sword is equipped. Instead of the normal fire breath effect, it would, for instance, enchant the weapon as such AND cause its power attacks to release firebolt spells. Or something along those lines. Any thought? Btw i'll make a video soon as to not keep you guys in the dark Edited by Catman030
