12yearoldfgt
I bought premium just cuz I wanted to install a large mod pack and had to download all the mods individually, was not about to struggle with small 2mb/s downloads as it would take forever But vortex just refuses to download larger mod files and refuses to download using my full internet speed (the max I was was like 23mb/s which is still nothing compared to my usual speed of around 100mb/s Ive tried reinstalling, the mods are being download to an nvme ssd with gigabit connection, ive done just a typical chrome manual download and it was able to download it at full speed no problem but vortex just refuses to do it the issue with 500mb+ files, they just wont download, the download spikes up to like 2mb/s, then just drops to nothing, and does nothing for like 10-20 seconds, at which point it does the same thing and spikes up and drops down doing nothing again, idk what could even be causing such problem but its very very annoying if anyone knows how to fix this im all ears, like i bought premium just to solve the slow download problem cuz like why not its literally 3$ but it has not even sped up the downloads cuz vortex just refuses to keep to a consistent high speed and does whatever it wants (smaller mods download fine cuz i mean they download instantly but for larger than 500mb it just wont download so idk) here is a picture of what happens when It tries to download a larger than 500mb file, it spikes up to a terrible speed then it just drops to nothing and stays there for a bit https://gyazo.com/a32be87a8eb229174cb90d8e88efed24
Tannin42
Vortex is not responsible for slow download, that is between your internet connection and the server. The fact it affects only large files indicates it's caused by the premium server you're getting connected to, probably it's being overloaded. You can use the site preferences (on the site) to force Nexus Mods to use a different download server.

I used the exact same CDN server to download manually from the website, downloaded perfectly and at full speed so the download was done within a few seconds, while vortex just refused to download the same exact files on the same exact server when given more than 20 mins to do it. So im having a hard time believing that this is a problem with the server or my internet as much as its a problem with vortex it self

Vortex has zero impact on your download speed and ranting at us gets you no closer to a solution.b) A CDN is not a server it's a network (that's what the N in CDN stands for). Which actual server you get connected to is determined by a load balancer (part of the server infrastructure) which is exactly my point: We do not control it. As a premium user you can take control of the actual server being used, with a CDN you're in the hand of an algorithm.
