LotteryDiscountz
And, on the flipside, if the author puts up a joke mod, then takes it down because of criticism, to paraphrase TVD, he probably has other unrelated issues...Well, if dealing with receiving a death threat over a videogame cabbage in a pot is one of the issues, I expect I'd be in sympathy with such a decision. ZombieWombles
Â This wasn't a rating thing this was a disrespect issue.(...)I have no problem when people criticize a mod for valid reasons but I do habve a big problem when pompous people say a mod is unworthy of endorsements and especially when they demand it's removal on the basis that it has recieved them. Agree wholearthedly however that is a "people" problem, and like Lisnpuppy said, there's not a whole lot that the moderators can do to stop it without specific enough reasons. If you put something out there to be evaluated, you should excpect there will always be people that like it and people that don't. That's healthy. What isn't healthy is shutting one side down, on the basis that their opinion is diferent than my own.A lot can also be said about constructive and destructive criticism and the forum has its own guidelines in respect to that. Thats why there are moderators. We should just wish/hope that they do their job's the best they can.I agree, it's hard to discern criticism form bullying but sometimes a new modder gets plenty of encouragement, this time he gets scorn. I can't see any rating system that could settle this but there were many very negative comments pertaining to his ability aand that that were against even the basic rules of constructive criticism as this mod did exactly what it claimed. It literally was a cabbage in a pot ndd appart from the noob error of a dirty edit there was nothing for them to whine about other than hurty feelings that their mods didn't get such attention. Miki990
I have no idea what this discussion is about.About you stealing my cookies!!! Its about a mod wrongly removed by a moderator or the author removing it willingly. As far as I know, its a joke mod that adds a cabbage in a pot to the game... Not really sure whats so special about a cabbage in a pot... FutureVisions
@ ZombieWomblesTrue. However the mod also had a lot of positive feedback for the most part from what I saw of it. However I didn't check it for the last couple of days. But if you see someone getting bullyied feel free to use the "report comment" button, that's what it's there for. And by doing so you're actually helping the community in reducing that kind of behavior. Edited March 22, 2013 by FutureVisions
Lisnpuppy
 I do want to note of all the reports we got on this mod....not one was because this author was being trolled. There was that one death threat. I believe I reported that at the time. EDIT: IIRC, I also sent in a series of several lesser-concern reports after that first one. Check report logs for "Not passing in silence?" if that's doable, and they may pop up.I checked and I can not find anything. I can only say that there is something very, very messed up here.I would say that with something like a death threat (did this comment get removed guys, do you remember? I mean by the person that said it? I am gonna look at that also in the old thread) I would urge you to send a note to a moderator and say you reported it. Even if it was a joke...that would need to go and the person that said it with it. I am sorry for all that has happened in this mod. It seems like a perfect storm of things has happened. If all this is true I wouldn't blame an author for tossing up their hands and giving up.  That being said...its you the community that help make The Nexus a great( or terrible) place. We can do only so much without your help. Normally we don't have these technical issues....(hopefully we will get them resolved) and can concentrate on just what the important things are. We don't just go and remove mods for craps and giggles. Any mod removed from this site is because it breaks the rules. However we can't possibly see everything and that's why we rely on you all to help. I encourage all of you to keep doing so. If you have questions shoot a PM to someone. If I don't know an answer I will do my best to find out. We are also human. Of course moderators may make mistakes, heck I just apologized to a mod author today! But everything we all do is to make this a better place for all of us. We all love games, love modding and the modding community. I can only hope this mod author will continue to make mods...even if they do not share. Modding first and foremost is for the modder themselves, to bring happiness and joy to them. When they choose to share is just a really great thing for us. We should all be respectful, grateful and happy when it happens. Modders also have the responsibility to treat their "fans" with respect. They don't owe us their mod, they don't owe us the billions of request for changes in their mods but once a mod is here they are bound by the same rules as everyone else. I was worried when I first saw this thread. Typically these things go south pretty quick. I am glad you all feel strongly....and I hope that you ALL will take these same feelings and spread them around for other authors...not just those on the front page (but those too)...but those little known mods that you use and maybe don't even think about. Those beginners that you see that need some encouragement. Go forth and spread the modding love!!
RourkeSwift
Ah, so mystery solved it seems. Thanks for looking into this guys, I had a sinking suspicion that the author pulled the mod once it got hot and the comments turned ugly. It was getting pretty nasty in there. :(
LotteryDiscountz
Thanks Lisnpuppy! If you're not seeing my reports from yesterday, and we users saw the strange-looking Dante message, it could be that the stuff was happening with that mod id so fast that one or more things broke for it. Especially once it got onto the main page, the comments were coming in extremely rapidly. In fact, I can't tell you whether or not that most-concerning comment was edited or removed yesterday, because whole threads of comments got pushed pages away in the space of an hour.EDIT, Miki, re "what's so special", the promo is still available for a look! Deleted472477User
I'm just glad I grabbed it before the poop storm started. I was sad to see it had been pulled, and if it was do to whining/bullying, it really makes me angry. It also makes me hesitate to ever try modding, myself. I'll have to grab some screens of my toons admiring the Cabbage in a Pot for my images here. they'll probably get more endoresements than any others I've done lol.
