LucidLady
*gently applies palm to face* u_u My newest playthrough has been a real trip in the stability department. Let me explain. For years now, there's only been a single source of me CTD-ing about 99% of the time. Saving.Every other CTD was an obvious cause and fix, but I could never figure out this one.Until now! After 24 hours into this character, I haven't had a single CTD while trying to save the game. Whereas in the past i probably would have CTD'd a few dozen times. My only problem finally solved! Or so I thought. Now i'm getting a plethora of more common bugs and glitches that were never present before this playthrough. And everytime I iron one of those out, another just instantly arises. For instance - I never had problems inside the Vim Factory at Far Harbor. But on this playthrough - I got extreme lag and none of the enemies would attack. They just stood there all angry'd up.And after being inside, I could never leave. As leaving would end with me having an infinite load screen each time.So I did a broad cleaning of the entire DLC and... problem solved! Now it's just fine in there. ...Except now my rocks are glowing.Google is zero help, as all the posts that are even halfway close to this problem are 5 years old.Just look at this video, wtf is this - For those not watching the video - Certain rocks are turning a bright, flat Orange color and then slowly fading back down to normal. Over and over. Slow flashes that are extremely out of place. I mean, it's not gamebreaking. But it is annoying...Why? Why would rocks be glowing? I can't even imagine what would be responsible for making rocks glow.Only happening in FH. Been to all the rockiest locations I can find in the Commonwealth and there is no glowing. I'm also having two other problems that I can't seem to find the cause for from the FH DLC, which were never present in any playthrough before this one. One, apparently a common glitch, i'm getting a CTD when approaching the first group of trackers while Longfellow takes you to Acadia. Easily circumvented by just going to Acadia by myself, but still...And two - my gulpers are immortal. I take their health down to zero, and it just instantly refills. Over and over.I have a weapon that will kill any essential NPC, so I can kill them. But that's obviously not how it's supposed to go.Can't find anything in FO4Edit which would be the cause of this. And google doesn't come up with this exact problem either. Uninstalling and Reinstalling the DLC does nothing. Doing a broad cleaning of the DLC does nothing.I guess it must be caused by a mod or two, but i've only installed 2 new mods for this playthrough. And uninstalling those 2 mods and rolling back to a save before I had them installed has had no effect.I wouldn't mind just disabling all those rocks, but that feels like a bandaid solution. And I dunno how...
HadToRegister
Do you have some type of Autolooting mod installed?Because that's what that glow reminds me off.
LucidLady
huh, seriously? i never would have thought an auto loot mod would cause an effect like that.yes, i have one of those installed, but i've had it installed for a solid year. and it hasn't been updated or changed, so why would it start doing this now?guess i'll try disabling it. LucidLady
Welp, I disabled and uinstalled the auto-loot mod as cleanly and carefully as I could. And there was no effect. Rocks still glowing. However I did update it and it's workin' out pretty good. So there's that.Turns out some trees are glowing, too. Very very rarely, and they don't pulse, it's just a solid glow. LucidLady
Oh no, I use Lootman. It seems to be alot simpler than the one you're describing. There's no loot glowing options whatsoever. And like I said, i've had the same version of that mod installed for a solid year and this has never once been an issue before.I haven't even moved it's placement in the load order in all that time. Those rocks aren't loot containers anyway, though. No reason for them to be glowing because of loot.
dicgas
Hello LucidLady, I have the same problem you are describing regarding the flashing boulders, I've been looking for fixes and I've had no luck but now I've found the source of the problem. Do you have, by any chance, a flora mod called "A Forest" installed? Turns out this mod causes this annoying bug and it only happens in Far Harbor. I have been trying to fix it myself but everything I have tried so far hasn't worked :wallbash: For now, the only way to fix this issue is by disabling the mod. Here are some screenshots with the "A Forest" mod enabled/disabled: If you don't have this mod in your load order then I don't know what could cause this issue. In this case, I'd recommend disabling your mods one by one (or in little groups) until you find out which one is the culprit. Balx2
If that mod is on nexus, provide a link and I'll look at it and as well.
dicgas
It was on the Nexus but it has been deleted by the mod author.
