What build do you play and why? Also for different races, any NPC reac

So I started my first game as a Nord but when I got my new PC I started over as a Dark Elf, because I heard about the different NPC reactions for different races... Also because Dark Elves are awesome. There aren't as many reactions to her race as I'd like, but it does fascinate me how people are that little more distrustful.

I did keep my playstyle from Nord though. It's very loose, dual weilding swords, light armor, high stealth... but even with all of that I only use my stealth for theivery! And magic just bugs me, it's too fiddly, when it comes to battle she just charges in guns blazing, so to speak, who has time to press Q and hunt down the correct spell. NOT ME.

^ Probably the exact reasons I can't play on the harder difficulties haha, but I'm okay with it.

So tell me about your playstyle.

The build I use is a Breton because I prefer human characters and can't get her face to look the way I like with the other races plus the 25% magic resistance is very handy. Light armor, one-handed (w/torch), archery, sneak. I always play on master difficulty (now legendary) because I like the challenge of fighting enemies that can actually kill me in 1-2 hits. As a result, smithing becomes essential later on. I also tend to use specific types of gear. I like to stick with the more realistic approach to armor and weapons so I stick to basic steel weapons and hide/studded armor then in the late game scaled armor. I use the WIC cloak mod to add a bit of realism to the outfit (Skyrim is COLD after all) with hoods/cloaks.

Strangely enough I have never had any unique dialogue come up as a Breton. I did play other races before and you get the occasional "Stay out of trouble, Imperial" etc but Bretons get nothing. I wonder if its a glitch or just an oversight.

I've found myself playing a Breton assassin type, lately. Always fun, and the quests are amusing in a very dark way.

With a Breton, you of course want to use Bound Sword/Bound Bow and sneak wherever possible. Use Flames/Firebolt for when you don't have time to plan out your attacks. When you do have time, though... Stalk your prey for hours and then use a strategic Frenzy spell to soften them up, then finish them off with your Bound Bow. That's the plan, anyway.

I prefer the Nord warrior type, and specialize in sword, shield and mixed armor. (Basically whatever I think looks good). High Block, high Single-hand but skipping the axe and mace perks, lots of crafting and enchanting. Usually a bit of archery and stealth on the side, but mostly powering on with pure melee.

Frankly, I think one-handed and shield with high Block is the only way to make melee fighting remotely fun in Skyrim. Everything else comes down to staggering around like a drunk and wildly hacking away at your opponent.

My favorite style is simple: Sneaky dual dagger cut throat attack.

Not many enemies can survive a sneak attack with assassins blade, so that's what I go for.

If the enemy would survive it (most unlikely) they will be down to very low health, so one or two hits with a paralyzing dagger will do the trick on even the toughest enemy on the hardest difficulty setting.

I usally play as a one-handed sword specialist who occasionally uses a bow to take down enemies, though mostly I just charge in and fight. Since I'm using Requiem Overhaul, I die heaps against archers and mages, but anyone falls victim to my blades once I'm within range. :)

I usually be a Nord, simply because I feel I relate mostly to them. Otherwise a Dark Elf. :)

Oh and before i forget I use an argonian for my 1h assassin and for my archer i either use wood elf (racial is nice) or nord (that extra cold resistance helps a lot with dragons <3)
