Do Skyrim MCM settings copy to cloned Vortex profiles?

I have about 150 Skyrim mods in Vortex on a playthru. I want to clone that profile to a new profile and start a new game. But of those mods, 39 of them have MCM settings that I've fiddled with.

Is there a way to copy over the existing MCM settings so I don't have to do it all myself on new playthru?

I wish someone could make some way of saving the settings, as fiddling with them all again for a new character is such a pain in the butt. I recall someone saying you can save some things for some mods with (IIRC) FINIS, but I really don't remember any more than that.

A utility that allows exporting and saving MCM configurations would be SO useful. Couldn't the SkyUI team come up with something? Anything?

Unfortunately, this isn't really feasible because a lot of times changing an MCM setting will execute an external script function, like starting or stopping quests, changing actor values or factions or a host of other things. Basically, every MCM is different and unique to the mod. If source code is provided, you can maybe edit mod's MCM's to save and load their settings to an external file, using FISS or PapyrusUtil, or better yet asking the mod authors themselves if they can add that feature.

Somebody tried this, but it looks like they abandoned it, it was called YeOlde MCM settings and it would scan all of your MCM mods and attempt to store all of the settings so you could easily import them with a new playthrough

On the bright side, in his sticky, he did say that anybody can take the mod and continue to code it.

It DOES work with some mods and not with others, I have it in my load order, however, it could be perfected and made foolproof.

Aye, FISS I meant, not FINIS! :D

Weird.

It seems to me that the MCM settings for each mod are not much more than a series of check boxes and number sliders. That seems pretty much like hard, crunchy data that should be exportable/importable via a 3rd party mod configurator. Maybe that's what FISS does.

I have no idea how to do it myself, but I know there are still active modders and Coder Uber-Geeks vastly more clever than me.

Fancy giving it a go?

I highlighted it for YOU!

So, do you fancy giving it a go and perfecting a mod like that?

I do texture and Xedit mods, I can't code.
