the plugin number should be in some place else like the middle

also i have a big idea and might be hard to implant, about the file conflict

what if were there a database that collect the load *before* *after* from experienced users in modding and that would show to others who have the same conflict what is to be loaded first or as voting that show what must users think should be loaded first and maybe a comment on why.

this will help inexperienced users a lot

That database would have to contain millions if not billions, of LOAD BEFORE and LOAD AFTER rules to make up for every possible load order available.

It just takes some common sense, if one mod description says "Make sure my textures overwrite this other mods textures, then that right there is an automatic LOAD AFTER scenario.

LOOT is built into Vortex already, so it already does it's job with plugins, and most of the time, when you're looking at a mod conflict in the mod tab, and bring up the Manage Rules screen, when you click on the Load Before/Load After dropdown, it will SUGGEST if a mod should load before or load after.

Plus, since in the mod tab, where textures, meshes, bsa, ba2 etc get handled, it's only a matter of picking LOAD BEFORE or LOAD AFTER, loading up the game to see if the textures are wrong, then quitting out of the game, and switching your LOAD AFTER, to LOAD BEFORE, and Vortex will restore the overwritten files, and overwrite the other ones instead.

It's not like with NMM, where if you installed textures in the wrong order, you'd have to uninstall BOTH mods, and reinstall them in the correct order, Vortex does that all automatically for you.

So, what message(s) do you get when you click on MORE in the plugin error notification?

it doesn't have to be for every mod only the major ones

Just read the description p[ages for the load order.

As I said, LOOT is already built into Vortex, so it already handles the load order for you, so there's already a database

The only time people run into trouble is when they Follow a "Guide" and try to force an incorrect load order on Vortex

how do you decide what is a "major" mod? its very subjective.

LOOT does a lot of what your idea is, in as much as mod authors, or users of mods, tell the LOOT guys that mod x needs to load before/after mod y, and they build that data into their LOOT processes.

Vortex makes use of LOOT internally, so you don't need to run LOOT in addition to Vortex (but you can if you disable autosort in Vortex), so that LOOT rules are used by Vortex to generate a load order for you. Once that is generated,Vortex has a brilliant (ignore the naysayers, it truly is brilliant) mechanism, whereby you can create additional rules to load mod x before/after mod y - or - if a mod suggests it needs to be loaded last, or near to the bottom of your load order, you can do that in a few clicks, and the data is stored internally in Vortex so you don't need to have to remember why a mod is in a certain place in your load order.

But as HTR suggests, you do need to read the instructions for the mod - for all mods.

Anyway, I hope this helps you somewhat.
