Mcguyver123
So hear me out, Ive been watching trianglecity for .... about a year now give or take. he has interviews with the creators of New Vegas and several videos of cut content that didnt make it to the final game, and im not talking about just weapons and armor, im talking about cut missions, the map was meant to be MUCH larger, tons of stuff. We all know how the last ambitious mod project turned out, with frontier and everything...not great.... What im proposing is not adding 'new content' as much as im suggesting finishing or readding stuff that was cut. Tastefully done, networking with some of the best modders we have here. Opinions? Radioactivelad
Honestly, my dream for the future of the New Vegas Modding Community is for Modders to jump on the idea of the Community Wasteland. Anything interesting that can be done in the Fallout New Vegas universe has pretty much been done. (I also don't think there's enough known cut content to really make the base game that much more interesting.) I'd like to see Modders be unshackled from New Vegas lore, vanilla content and game progression/expectations, and free to use the full breadth of the game world and content in ways that would otherwise not be considered acceptable. As a player, you'd be able to craft the exact world you want to play in, because every location in the world becomes fair game for a Modder to put what they want. Community Lore could develop. Maybe someones idea of a particular raider tribe gets popular and they start showing up in a lot of different "Community Mods". Crossover Events between individual projects could happen. There's just so much fascinating potential. Edited February 22, 2021 by Radioactivelad
TheGamingPaladin
i think that's an unfair opinion of The Frontier, people put years of work into that mod and they're still ironing out the bugs, i say give it a second chance once they fix it before you condemn their hard work.that being said i'm not interested in reviving cut content in the least, better to focus on the new than the old, that's what modding is for, to keep the game fresh and exciting. First I heard of it and it's a great idea. We all know how the last ambitious mod project turned out, with frontier and everything...not great.... What im proposing is not adding 'new content' as much as im suggesting finishing or readding stuff that was cut. Tastefully done, networking with some of the best modders we have here. I'm not sure how this is relevant. So we shouldn't try to create our own unique stories, just limit ourselves to revamping someone else's content? JimboUK
There are several mods that add back cut content but there's a problem with a lot of the other cut content, we don't know what a lot of it was, there are clues, disabled NPCs, scripts, notes and the like but little of it is complete. Finishing a lot of this stuff would require so much guesswork that they might as well make something new.
