freche
It would be really nice if there could be an option for mod authors to be able to write a small comment why they are hiding one of their mods (completely optional ofc). That way there is a chance people could get an explanation of why the mod they are trying to get to isn't currently available, such comment could hint of when/if the mod is available again. RGMage2
It's a good idea. Some possible reasons might be:Under construction Awaiting update Necessary files not available Awaiting permissions
Ironman5000
I have thought about this too and I agree it would be a good idea, maybe an additional pop-up window after clicking 'hide file' with check boxes for the reason.

I almost wrote something like that but I really didn't want to go there.
Thandal
Well, I guess some small number of authors might take advantage of such a feature (if IPBoards ever coded such a feature) but I'm trying really hard to think of a good reason for "Hiding" a mod that's already been published. All the reasons listed in the OP are bad ones in that they mean the author screwed-up. Either the mod wasn't ready and so shouldn't have been posted/published, or the author used materials inappropriately. In any case, not something the author is likely to want to make even more public.
Dark0ne
I can understand why you'd want this and can think of a few circumstances where it could be helpful. I'll have a think on it.
