UncleDuckjob
I checked the 'Vortex' text document which I'm guessing is the log, and the first error it says is "info: failed to load dynamic extensions, path doesn't exist C:\Users\Uncle\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins" so I go to AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins and the directory is there, but it's emply. Would it work if someone sent me the files it's looking for - or are they specific to the system? Attached is the log file.
UncleDuckjob
I don't know why the log file isn't attaching. Would it help if I posted it here?

Would it work if someone sent me the files it's looking for - or are they specific to the system? Attached is the log file. Turn off your AntiVirus, and Windows Defender and reinstall Vortex I completely removed Malwarebytes from my system (been meaning to), I turned off Windows Defender, and I don't have any other anti-virus programs installed on my machine. Windows even warns me that it's unprotected: https://i.imgur.com/8u5lsWa.png I re-downloaded a fresh version of Vortex from the site: https://i.imgur.com/Cj7hxJ4.png I opened file explorer and under 'My PC' I searched for the words 'Vortex' and 'Black Tree' and deleted the folder left behind after uninstalling Vortex. No other folders with the words 'Vortex' exist on my system. (I forgot to get a screenshot of this.) Then, I tried again to download this mod, or any other mod for any other game: https://i.imgur.com/E1qCOXy.png Error. No matter how many times I do these steps, it still doesn't work. I appreciate so much you taking the time to help me, but the steps you keep repeating aren't making any impact. Is there anything else you think it might be? That did it. That worked! Tannin you magnificent bastard, I want you to know that I love you, and you're invited to my wedding! I mean... I'm not getting married or anything, but still... I'll also post in the thread you linked. To anyone stumbling upon this post through Google who might be having the same issue, it was fixed by downloading the redistributable packages for Visual Studio found here. I chose x64 because I have a 64 bit version of windows. If you need to know what version of Windows you have, you can do so this way:Select the Start button > Settings > System > About . Open About settings.Under Device specifications > System type, see if you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows.Under Windows specifications, check which edition and version of Windows your device is running. UncleDuckjob
I thought maybe it was Java or my .NET, so I updated those. I never thought to look at MS Visual. Is that the language that Vortex is written with, and it just didn't have the libraries I needed or something? Good stuff to know for fresh installs, I'll add it to my "Troubleshooting Rotation." Thanks so much guys! Both of you!
