I personally blame mod authors that want me to download gigs and gigs of hair that all look the same (yeah, I'm talking about you KS) in order to get one style, instead of them just extracting and including that particular look and crediting the original author. So, I just looked, it's possible to move all the NMM/Vortex files to a different drive, like an external. This does make deployment slow, however, because it means actually moving files during deployment instead of using hard links (f*#@ing Windows and its inability to use proper symlinks). If you aren't changing mods or profiles a lot this may be a solution worth looking into, and external USB drives are relatively cheap these days. I'm going to investigate this further, as I have terabytes of unused storage on my home network. I'll post a follow up after I finish experimenting.
