Vortex can't find the .exe for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire from the GamePass.

I found the .exe manually through the file explorer to make sure I was selecting the right folder in Vortex, so I know it's not user error.

I've tried reinstalling Vortex with anti-virus disabled as others have suggested, that didn't help either. It just keeps saying it can't find the .exe.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you <3

Hmm, it's located in ModifiableWindowsApps so it probably is moddable.

However it's possible the windows store version has different file names. In that case we'd indeed need to specifically add support for it, but please tell us what the exe is actually called in the game pass version - I'd rather not download 50GB just to find that out.

One important thing here that EVERYBODY overlooks.....The reason you can't see the EXE is because the button clearly says "SELECT FOLDER"

Like I just pointed out, the exe is there, but the name is different from what Vortex recognizes as the proper exe. Vortex can't find "PillarsofEternityII.exe" because through game pass it's "PillarsofEternity2.exe"

Yes, I KNOW that, however, no matter what the EXE is named, it will NOT show in that particular view because Vortex just wants a FOLDER.

I understand that Vortex is looking for the wrong exe, however, OP is saying he can't find the EXE when he's in FOLDER Select view.

Somebody needs to leave feedback on the Github page for the person to update the Extension to look for PillarsofEternity2.exe

The Devs really won't see it here.

"Vortex can't find the .exe for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire from the GamePass."

"It just keeps saying it can't find the .exe."

He's saying Vortex can't find it, both in the title and his post. His issue is Vortex won't recognize it. He's not saying he can't find it.
