In the distance great red explosions of flame rose up and red light spread outwards, upwards, as a great growing dome. Then the light was gone and Doomlordic Forces were appearing not to attack humanity but the undead. An unofficial non aggression treaty came into effect for very practical reasons as the Doomlords' followers did not attack the living and were not attacked in turn.

Other demons arose such as razorbi and armour wearing demoman humanoids who came from the same set of realms and who carried bizarre weapons. Wingzorbi flew through the sky and there were also hulking hulkzorbi. These Zorbi demonic entities did not attack the living or the Doomlordic entities but only the undead. The non aggression treaty had expanded.

Samson spoke. “The TripleEmpire rose after the Breaking of the World.”

FieldMarshal Sonja Savata replied. “As led by surviving AncientLords who came to the world through wild transdimensional rifts caused by the Great Breaking. Yet none of them became the three of the TriImperiate of TriEmperor, TriBishop or TriChancellor. Those ones came as mysterious entities, out of seeming nowhere, and even Eternals such as I do not know their secret though we have strove to gain it. All we know is that each of those entities has three aspects, being of life, death and undeath. We fear that they are surviving AncientGods, as you are, but that they have become very different than you and others like you.”

The battle began to end as the undeathly enemies began to withdraw back into their own home realm, along with the GlimmerMist. It became evident that the invaders had met with far more opposition than they had expected. Even as they vanished so did the two different demonic forces. The local, mortal, forces were left behind to lick their wounds and otherwise try to recover from the death and destruction of the savage battles.

Amongst the mortals drifted test-transformation created humans with elemental magic of healing who helped save many lives and heal damaged bodies. Elemental mages of the solar burned away nasty residues of undeath and demonic influences. Elemental mages of the phase began to try sealing up the wild rifts that had allowed the undead, and demonic, forces to enter that dimensional realm. The elemental mages had entered the battle but so far were quite few in number though those numbers were constantly expanding as the test-transformations continued to take place.

Samson watched some aeroplanes circling overhead as they scouted for enemies but he 'sensed' that the undead were gone from that place. “Matters will get worse before they get better!?”

The FieldMarshal shrugged. “Thanks to the strange assistance of the demonic forces the GlimmerMist was badly damaged during this battle. Breathing space has been gained in the Hopelands but more danger is coming. I suggest we give what assistance we can to local forces; some healing is in order.”

So they did!

Story Directions Continued on From Post #72

*Samvil carries out a deal with false angels, demogels, exchanging unholy water for three superhuman made artefacts of the PreBreaking World.

*Sampha, Jack Harkness and Drend enter the Hopeville Temple of Holiest Truth and find a scene of much death and destruction. False angels, demogels, had been there, possessing victims and then fighting those who worked out that they had been tricked.

*An archangel appears and cleanses the temple with holy light, resurrecting many of the followers who had been brain washed puppets. Gabriel departs and Sampha, Jack and Drend depart with the now resurrected people. The temple implodes, strangely, after they had left it. They take the 'innocents' to be cared for by the Order of Compassion. Sampha donates some resources to them.

*Samson unlocked the locking code of the slide-inverter-entrance and then began to activate it but had to deal with security programming.

*Evidence of terrible experiments is uncovered in the Darkjover.

*The Fatevator becomes more useful as it can be used by more people and has utilities that can be used also.

*The TPMI-SIRIO Taskteam begins expansion to become the TPMI-SIRIO Taskforce with the addition of more resources and more people including from the UIC.

*Strange vending-machine like AAA in Fort Freedom turns out to be a rejuvenater-upgrader of devices that turns out to be very useful to the TPMI-SIRIO Taskforce.

*Samson and Jack Harkness speak of Professor Harris Hoggins. Jack had known him but states he was killed some five years ago yet he seems to be living again to send a recent letter to Samson. Others also appear to be returning to life almost as if they had never died.

*They discuss the secret faction war, in the TripleEmpire, between the TriOrder of Guardianship and the PaxIlluminati. The TOG serve good and the PaxIlluminati serve an evil cause.

*Jack reveals that elite TriImperial Forces are tied up in defending the empire in three places being in TriImperiarna, the Doomlands and part of the Panatlantic Ocean. The exception are such as TriImperial Special Forces operating in different areas. The TripleEmpire keeps secret what they are fighting against.

*Samson goes to the Brownlingo Estate where he meets a Brownlingo matriarch who turns out to be Samvil in shapeshifting disguise. He deals with Samvil but not before Samvil reveals that the great temple, where Samson had the strange crisis at eleven years of age, is buried beneath the Brownlingo Estate, that is is Darkjover made and that it is first reached through the maze in the Foremale Estate. Samson gives more assistance to the Brownlingoes.

*GlimmerMist undeath invasion begins in the western area, the Jagged High Hills, and is met by many forces opposing it.

*Bizarre enemy warmachines appear to fight including aircraft that attack Hopeville.

*Samson and the Eternal Soldier meet at the edges of the battle. They discuss secrets of the rise of the TripleEmpire and the TriImperiate. Some knowledge is revealed and some mysteries are confirmed as such.

*The battle ends with the GlimmerMist retreating and then demonic forces withdrawing, all leaving that dimensional realm.

The Fatevator Chamber held four doors inside, one being the elevator doors and another being a way to access the Fatedomain. There were two others being, as you entered the Fatevator, to the left and right of one.

The left one led to a sanctuary of a great cube of chambers and other spaces. The Fatesanctim supplied light, water, air and a range of basic goods and services as well as some more specialised utilities. It had kitchens, workshops, bathrooms, garden chambers, basic gyms and more of the same. From the start there was Sammas to regulate all that happened there and to enforce its rules with the assistance of 'others'.

The right was a great cube, generally like the Fatesanctim, but it was a combination of zoo, museum, library, gallery, archives and other facilities. The one called Samsam regulated what happened there and enforced its rules with the assistance of others. It was the Fatetorium.

A trickle of folk went to settle in the Fatesanctim being test-transformed people who could not find a safe home back on the world thanks to past deeds or other reasons. Many of those turned out to be scholars, and others, who would spend much time in the Fatetorium. They could go straight between the Fatesanctim and Fatetorium without passing through the Fatevator.

Samson's work, in the Fatedomain, was starting to produce interesting results. The forces pulling demonic entities into the world, through summonings opened rifts, and old weakened 'areas' caused by many past summonings, were likely to be Samvil, others like him and the one that they were enslaved by. The dragging in of demonic entities was likely to have been unintentional but he began to conclude that something had come through and was, itself, starting to play a major part in what was going on: but what particular demonic faction was doing so?

Now the angelics were starting to be pulled through to that world. Matters were getting very complicated and dangerous.

Suspecting that he was missing something that was in front of him, he sought out prior assumptions and began to question them.

Samson was surprised when the first black envelope arrived at the Fatedomain, instead of the Foremale Estate as the grey envelopes had been doing. The black envelope had golden writing, trimmings and a Fatewheel symbol on the back.

This time from the envelope came black Fategamedisks and Fategamecards. These were black and had golden writing, and symbols, on the fronts along with golden game wheel symbols on the back. There were ten of each.

Other: “Very soon you will be able to use the Fategamedisks but, for now, you can only use the Fategamecards. Here is what you need to do.”

Before using them he opened up the black envelope to find, on its inside surface, a big tree diagram of different kinds of demonic entities and their relationship to each other along to the originating demonic entities. At first he saw nothing surprising, nothing that was of vital interest, but then he noted something most strange that seemed like a mistake but it wasn't.

Samson: “Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli are generally known to be amongst the very weakest of demon kind; other demons tend to use and abuse them while they do very minor deals with humans and other mortals. Yet in this tree diagram they are shown to be very powerful and to be serving even more powerful Devils known as the Sezshesho. Some memories become stronger, clearer, and I remember that the Sezshesho did something very foolish that caused much death, destruction and disruption amongst the demonic realms. Other Devils gathered, including the DevilLords and lesser DemonLords, to call upon the intervention of demonic gods and goddesses more powerful than the Devils. A dangerous action to carry out but it worked and Sezshesho was driven into the Slumbering Abyss. The Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli were reduced to a much lesser status.”

Other: “The power of the Sezshesho was based on transdimensional influences, on summonings and the opening closing of rift gates. The Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli held much knowledge of such as the minions of the Sezshesho.”

In the current crisis, of drawing demons into the mortal world, it had been assumed that the Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli were innocent of any real way with causing problems but what if that was not true, what if it was no coincidence that the more powerful demonic entities had been drawn through rifts caused by the Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli? Samson knew that some of each, of the three types of demonic entities, needed to be captured and questioned. He sent a report to Fortress Freedom and the TPMI-SIRIO Taskforce but also others.

He went to the FategamecardCube, an object that had recently emerged into existence close to the great Fatewheel in the Fatedomain. Into it he fed a first Fategamecard, into a slot, and moments later out slid a bigger black card, from a bigger slot. On the front was a list of gains he had made from the use of the Fategamecard.

A small metallic ball slid down the chute into the tray; it was copperish.

One semitransparent, small globe appeared the same way and inside was a 6x6 drive farm tractor with a semi-enclosed trailer.

There was a necessary time gap before he could use another Fategamecard and he energy stored the other nine of them along with the ten Fategamedisks. Even as he did so he realised that he had taken much about the Fategame for granted.

Other: “The Fategame itself influences Fateplayers to slowly, steadily, learn the complexities and subtleties of the Fategame. A particular Fategame is always linked deeply with its Fateplayer in a special way as it is also linked to the Fateplayer's situation.”

Samson went to get some rest and recreation. Even as he did he realised that he had to use the growing number, and range, of exotic resources with great care.

EverEpic One 42.1(86)

Samson was in the Fatedomain, was in the Brownlingo Estate and Samson was in the secret Darkjover complex down in the depths of the Foremale Estate.

Samson, Samtha and Phanto stepped out of elevator like Fatevator doors and into a big chamber in the supercity of TriImperiarna. They found themselves surrounded by carefully sealed up furniture and other items. Clearly the occupants, of the house, had fled but not in panic. They had taken at least some items with them.

Translucent ghosts were standing around the space. Samson had one look at the men, women and children, along with some animals, and knew they were the family and servants who had dwelt in the small urban mansion, or minimansion. They should have 'moved on' particularly as none of them had the auras of wraiths, phantoms or other kinds of ghost like entities that remained trapped in the mortal plains.

A matriarch, elderly and serene, came to him. It was a cook and not a member of the urban estate owning family. Clearly she was the strongest dead human there in spiritual ways for the animals were of a different spiritual essence.

She spoke in a voice that was slightly muffled and echoed in an odd way. “We were killed in the front drive, of the estate, by TriLegionaries. Those who were supposed to protect us, murdered us instead. The TriImperiate are desperate to hide what is happening here. They are desperate to hide their triple nature of life, death and undeath. Whispered messages pass between groups of trapped ghosts, as we are.”

Samson felt a headache coming on. He had dealt with death many times and in many ways; they all had done so.

Samtha smiled. “Truly you do not need to stay here, in the mortal world. Why do you do so? Is it to protect the three hiding children and the puppy?”

The woman smiled. “Yes for we love them. We may live in a city but we are Estatefolk. We are having trouble gaining enough good, fresh food for them.”

The three children came out and looked both fearful and ready to fight. There was an older girl, a middle boy and a younger girl. The younger girl held the lead that led to the puppy's collar. The puppy did not seem at all concerned by the newcomers. The children radiated subtle power and the odd difference of a very special version of humanity.

They were of Unity, that is sharing a secondary mind with each other along with others outside of the building. They did not seem to be fully aware of their true nature or the ramifications of Unity arising on that world, which was more than understandable with them being isolated children. Unity always had to start somehow but with positive mentoring it did always did better.

It was an added complication but was also added hope.

The older girl spoke. “You are like us but not like us. You are most odd and both good and bad inside like swirling black and white ice-cream. One of you is central to the other two.”

Samson nodded. “I am 'central' but no more important than the others of which there are more than two. There is also more than one of me. It is very hard to explain and, truthfully, I do not really understand such matters myself. Here are some food rations for the children and puppy.”

He snapped his fingers and, with a sparkling shimmer a whole stack of lidboxed food rations appeared as from the Fatering menu, appearing out of mid air. There was enough to last the four lifeforms for months, if they were careful.

The older girl smiled. “Chocolate! There is chocolate there! I am Francine. My little brother is Gordon and my little sister is Chancie. Do you know why the TriLegionaries murdered so many TriImperial Citizens?”

“No, I do not, but I fully intend to find out.” He sighed. “There is growing trouble across the TripleEmpire. Who are the TriLegionaries fighting here, in TriImperiarna?”

Francine looked troubled and in soon turned out she had good reason to do so. “Living TriLegionaries are fighting wraith TriLegionaries who are fighting undead TriLegionaries and living TriLegionaries are fighting undead TriLegionaries. All three armies are fighting each other along with others who are living, dead and undead. There is the glimmering mist in places that makes the undead ones stronger but crazier. There are small demons who are sometimes savage, nasty but mostly silly and harmless; the nasty ones are bigger and look nastier, feel even more nastier.”

The TripleEmpire, of life-death-unlife, was waging some kind of bizarre civil war against itself.

Samson took a guess. “Would the demons be named Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli?”

Francine nodded. “Yes but only the smaller, more friendly ones. Worst they do is some petty theft or teasing puppy. Except that one day puppy got angry with one Sezshoco and the cowards don't hassle puppy any more. The nastier ones are called Sazeshia. They wear weird armour and carry weird weapons but they are dangerous. They hunt down and enslave all the Sezshia, the Sezshoco and the Sezshilli they can but also any mortals that they find. They take them to some unknown place for unknown reasons except that we get glimpses of what is happening from those like us. Some great hole is being dug in a greater cavern chamber deep beneath the city.”

Samtha picked up the little girl and the small female infant accepted this with a smile, snuggling up to the youthful woman. Samtha spoke. “Do you think we could find a sanctuary for all, here, to go to including the ghosts?”

Samson nodded but with a focused expression of thought on his mind as if the solution would not be straight forward. “There is a great transdimensional disturbance in the form of imbalance between the domains of life, death, undeath and perhaps even unlife. If there is death, under these conditions, that would not normally take place then ghosts, from those deaths, might regain life under certain circumstances.”

A soft glowing shimmering filled parts of the chamber and most of the ghosts became solid, became living humans and animals. The fairly big chamber became rather crowded.

Not all of the ghosts had become flesh, being a minority who scowled and grumbled, some cursing louder than others.

Now living, once more, the matriarch sighed heavily. “I am Cherallett. It is good that we appeared with solid clothes and it is even neatly cleaned and pressed. Where would we go and how?”

Samson indicated the elevator like doors of the Fatevator. “Through there! Samtha will take you while Phanto and I remain here. That is take you resurrected humans, animals along with the three children and puppy. You may dwell in the Fatesanctim until a better place is found for you.”

The children seemed reluctant and Sam spoke some more to reassure them. “We will send more, like you, to the Fatesanctim, that is run by Sammas.

Francine shook her head. “I must come with you for they (other unityfolk) will not trust you fully enough. I find that I trust you. Can you wait here while I take Gordon, and Chancie, the the Fatesanctim place? I want to make sure it is good and talk to Sammas.

Samson was not happy with the idea but 'sensed' truth in what Francine had said. He found himself wanting to rescue the Unityfolk of that place but also concluded that they could provide him with vital information in finding out just what was going on.

Samtha gave Samson an odd smile before taking those, who were meant to go, to the Fatesanctim using the Fatevator. The actual trip would not take long at all for of course one walked into the Fatevator Chamber and there was the metal door leading to the Fatesanctim. Except that none of the other doors could be opened until the Fatevator doors were closed. It was a kind of transdimensional airlock system used for security and safety reasons.

The Fatevator doors closed!

Phanto stood back, studying the corrupted ghosts cautiously.

Samson turned to them and he spoke with care. “You were not made flesh but I really do not know why the 'elder ones' rejected you. I suppose it has something to do with dark karma that you have gained in your life.”

One patriarch stepped forth with an arrogant scowl. “We served the TripleEmpire by working in the shadows, by doing the dirty work of the TriImperiate and TriImperium. We knew that something was going wrong with the TripleEmpire, at its very core. The TriImperiate began to go insane and the orders we gained were just as insane. Some of us fled, we here, hoping to get away as we came to hide here. Then, in fleeing from here, we were massacred along with the others. What irony that we were killed by TriLegionaries gone insane for they have in them aspects of the TriImperiate itself. We will answer any questions that you ask of us, I will make sure of it as I am leader of us. Then we will request a testing-transformation that we might fail.”

The patriarch lost his arrogant scowl to look frightened and exhausted. “In truth we have been fools.”

Another patriarch stepped forward, this one now appearing to wear body-armour but it was just a ghostly illusion that impressed nobody. “Speak for yourself, Dantane! You have always been weak! I did not make mistakes but were unlucky. I do not make mistakes.”

Samson looked hard at the second speaker. “Your speaking those words was a mistake.” Then he turned to the first speaker. “What do you know of the crisis of the TripleEmpire?”

“I am Colin Coles of the TriImperial Central Security Intelligence Police, the TCSIP, or at least I was. The TCSIP was once an agency backing up other, larger security intelligence organisations and did special operations trusted to nobody else.” The ghost shook his head as if still shocked at what he had learned in the past. “When the madness began to rise in various parts of the empire, we were sent to investigate and to deal with problems before they became big enough to be noticed.”

“We were given authority to use the services of other elite agencies, which we did, like the TriRangers, the TPMI, Torchwood, FEAR and others. We destroyed the outbreaks of the lesser undead, the breaking through of demonic entities, the berserker madness of people and even tried to halt people returning to life, as ordered.” The ghostly man shrugged. “We were failing the moment we began; that is we were winning many battles but were losing the war.”

“When we learned, by chance, that the TriImperiate was the actual cause of the problems, we foolishly reported the truth to our superiors. Then came the secret purge directed at us. Strange super killers came against us and other agencies. Many were killed, organisations were destroyed, but many also escaped. A lot of those have joined the various rebel movements rising through out the TripleEmpire or have abandoned the TriImperiate to serve other powerful TriImperial Factions; that is factions that want the empire to survive in a new form.”

Samson shook his head in wonder. The TriImperiate was the actual cause of the problems of the empire including those that had struck the Hopelands; or was the answer so simple?

Samson nodded. “What is happening deep below TriImperiarna?”

Colin Coles looked troubled. “Nothing good! What ever is happening is not obviously linked to the TriImperiate. That does not mean it isn't linked. The living, dead and undead armies fighting each other do not appear to go far below ground. In the TriImperiarna Undercity there are many refugees and other inhabitants but they have been left unscathed by the TripleMadness, as folks are now calling it. The secret work is being done very deep, even far deeper than the Undercity that is many 'levels' down.”

Colin Coles vanished, with a shimmering, and then returned looking younger and lightly shaken. Then others began to vanish about only about a third returned. The other patriarch did not return and Samson 'sensed' that he had gone to Hell.

Colin looked at his hands and then scratched his nose. “I have needed to do that for a long time.” He then sighed as he stood there in body-armour and fatigues. “My comrades, and I, will assist you. We must get to the TCSIP Secret Archives, a back up to the ones in the TCSIP Central HQ that were destroyed by TriLegionaries.”

Francine returned, along with Samtha. With them came Rhonda Rhodes and five supersoldiers. Rhonda, and her clone-daughters, were in light power armour and had powerful battlecarbines designed to be used with light power armour.

Samson had more flashes of memories and felt frustration until he gained one where he stood in a great domechamber of majestic appearance. He was in golden robes and was holding a golden metallic staff of office. Samson was very angry as he argued with the TriEmperor, TriChancellor and TriBishop. The voice was not clear and yet he knew that he, the other Samson, had been trying to stop the TriImperiate from doing something very foolish. The TriImperiate were three metre tall giants in big throne chairs that were on raised daises. They radiated arrogance and yet could not quite hide, from Samson, their nervousness.

Then flash vision was gone, as quickly as it had come, but Samson had a strong sense that the topic of the argument was related to what Colin Coles called the TripleMadness.

The same Samson, another Samson?

A shuddering went through the building. The elevator like doors, of the Fatevator, vanished away to leave behind a set of wood doors that had actually been there all along. The transformed Colin led them to a secret passage way, built in past times of political trouble and then forgotten, which they hurried along. Colin had only discovered the tunnel as a ghost who could move through solid objects, including walls.
