jackjack86
So, I'm working on PreVis/Precombines for the mods I have that break them. Right now I'm just working on the affected interior cells but I'm getting really really long load time. The progress bar just keeps going and going. Since I am working on PreVis/Precombines I need to keep cells to load at the default 5. However, I've disable most of the view options save for fog, leaves (tried disabling but no-go), and trees. I suppose that I could also disable fog because it isn't really needed. Any tips y'all could give me? Its litterally taking hours but thankfully the CK isn't crashing. YouDoNotKnowMyName
MORE RAM!The CK can never have enough RAM! And installing the CK (and FO4) on a SSD would also help, I guess ... That's just what I have heard, I have only 16 GBs of RAM and FO4 installed on a HDD, but when I get a new PC (SSD and lots of more RAM) I will let you know if it makes a difference ... Zorkaz
Don't use SSDs for saving, they will wear out pretty fast. Really HDDs are your best option
HeyYou
Don't use SSDs for saving, they will wear out pretty fast. Really HDDs are your best optionThat was true at one point, when the technology was new.... but, things have improved dramatically since then. I have my O/S on an SSD, so, reads/writes are extremely common. The drive is several years old now, but, when I check SMART data, it still shows better than 90% life left. YouDoNotKnowMyName
one issue i'm running into is just loading exterior cells, the CK will crash as soon as the render window updates.I never had that happen.Render winow update, as in pressing F5?You need to let it load for some time before doing anything or it will crash. As long as it is sayign "Loading cell ...." at the bottom of the CK window, you shouldn'T touch it (or anything else) ... jackjack86
No, like as soon as I double click the exterior cell to load (doesn't matter which one) the CK will give me an unhandled exception dialogue and crash.
