Is it ok to uninstall a game without removing mods first?

I have bunch of files (bodyslide etc.) that vortex doesn't have control of so i want to simply delete the game reinstall and deploy the mods without having to deal with manage rules etc.

 

So is this safe to do or...?

if vortex doesn't know about them, or manage them in any way, you can do what you want with them and Vortex won't care.

However, if you want Vortex to manage them (you mentioned that you want to re-install and deploy the mods), you will need to install them via vortex once you've done whatever it is you're going to do with the game

PURGE the vortex mods, and uninstall the game

 

whenever you reinstall the game, DEPLOY the purged Mods

If you don't purge or uninstall the mods it's impossible for us to say what will happen as it depends on how the uninstaller of the game works. Thus it's safest you do what HTR said and purge before you uninstall the game.

 

If you know you will not play the game again you should uninstall the mods completely because currently, if the game isn't installed, Vortex won't let you manage it and thus you can't remove the mods after the game is uninstalled.
