I gather that most VAs who submit their profiles here are basing their 'list of criteria' on hotemochick's first post, which they use as a 'template', since she was the one who started this thread and got the ball rolling. But now that this thread has been 'stickied', and is intended to be a permanent resource for modders seeking VA's, I was wondering how others would feel if I were to PM the moderators to edit the first post to list VA 'criteria' that are much more helpful to modders hunting for VAs, so that future VA's who stumbled on this thread will start providing those information, as well as cut out the information that isn't really helpful. For example, it's been mentioned before that 'race' or 'ethnicity' doesn't really indicate anything about the VA's skills or talent. It might be relevant for an on screen 'actor', but not a 'voice actor.' This topic was raised once before, but now I am proposing that we actually do something (like contacting the moderators) to make the changes that we would like to see to make this thread even more useful in helping to match VA's with modders. Below is a list of essential 'criteria' that I look for when I am hunting for a VA. What do you think? - Age of voices the VA can do, basically child/adult/old (not the VA's actual age, which isn't really relevant as some VA's can do a ranger of 'age groups').- Type of accents the VA can do.- Gender (I suppose there might be VA's who can do both male and female voices, or use sound software to achieve that effect, but I am thinking that's probably rare, so I think we should keep this 'criterion')- Sound equipment.- (voice) acting experience.- other talents (can you sing, play an instrument, have access to professional sound editing software, juggle babies using your index fingers, etc.)- web link to voice samples Edited January 31, 2014 by ripple Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
