Link below will get you informed and started on how to make the same for everyone using windows 10.

PC Classic - DiscussionDX9 4GB memory issue should be fixed in new Windows 10 Insider flight ()

Hi all, a new build has been released to the Windows Insider fast ring, which contains my fix for the DX9 4GB memory issue. Link to the blog post (this change was not called out in the fixes list).

For those of you not familiar with the Insider program, you can go to https://insider.windows.com/ to sign up. Note that you will get some features that are not done, and are more likely to have bugs in your operating system if you choose to go this route. If you prefer, you can wait until the Fall Creator's update to get this fix.

Let me know if this works for you. Enjoy!

  thanks working !!!!

The DX11 number read-out is bugged on windows 10.  You need to use the DX9 number for ALL of your games.

Wow, this is really good news. Thanks Charles17, for bringing this to our attention. Hope this build gets polished up for a final patch release.

I wonder if so many gamers screamed about the limitation of VRAM in DX9 games that Microsoft felt they HAD to try and fix it. Would certainly be unusual behavior on their part, but most welcome.

  thank you for this information, it's a shame.

I use the number of dx9 on Skyrim Legend, so use the number of dx9 on special edition also. I did not test on special edition because I have to redo its mod order in full.

I was continuing to moniter this os and I found what may be an issue with a fresh install (or continuation, I don't know) of skyrim. When trying to setup and use tesvedit, I was getting a message about couldn't find ini / documents. I soon discovered all my folders had become "read only" and even trying to run tesv as administator wasn't fixing it. As a note, NMM ran just fine. After an incredible amount of frustrating research on what the problem was, I ended up turning off windows defender, and then it worked. Now none of us want our pc's unprotected, at least I don't, so I further investigated. HERE IS HOW TO FIX! Go to setttings, update & security, windows defender, open windows defender security center,  virus and threat protection, scroll down to "Controlled Folder Access" and disable. The block windows felt needed to be implemented in this os is now removed allowing 3rd party applications to access your game folders. Since disabling, I've received no errors. I don't wish for anyone to have a problem like this, but if some do, I hope I've helped.

Side note: this is a test build of the fall creators update I'm using and have reported to Microsoft, so with any luck it won't be a present issue in the final release.

Read op or go to setting on your pc, update and security, on left side near bottom click on windows insider program, where you'll be given options. FOLLOW THEM CLOSELY AND READ EVERYTHNG!!!! The "fast track" is the newest test builds and have the most bugs, but mostly stable. The "Slow track" has far less bugs (what I/m currently using), and more stable than the fast track version. Slow currently has the dx9 fix so I would strongly suggest this option.

I thought for a moment the update was publically released. But my wife only just received the Spring Creator's Update. Bum.

Warning I have a crash Stop Window System Insider Pro with Dyndolod when creating the Lod with dyndolod exe.

But it works without worry with TES5LODGen. My two Skyrim (oldrim and SE) works great with Window Insider.

after TES5LOD Generator.Otherwise the result is a good one with Lod in 1K. very beautiful game with heavy mods and textures.

For Dyndolod I will inquire if there are solutions.

Did you try the fix I explained above concerning file access from 3rd party applications?
