What was the game that caused your gaming addiction to begin?

my first games were Impossible mission and winter olympics on commodore64 when I was 17, those woke up my gaming soul, but I had to leave the commodore behind when I moved, what really got me going later (with me being 32 was Monkey Island ... playing that I was lost ... my gaming soul endlessly hungers for more ... and more ... and more :D

^That. Sunk so much time into that trilogy as a kid. Those, and the Mario-games.

Tho if there's one game that really has to be accused of sending me down this path, I'd say it was Pokémon Red.

I didn't know English at the time, not that it really mattered much, as I also didn't know how to read.

I loved that game all the same.

AND, being able to play games ON THE GO?! Sign younger me right the heck up!

I brought that dang Gameboy with me everywhere. And even now, almost 20 years later, you can bet your lunch there's a Switch in my purse!

Depends on what console / machine  I lstarted loving game playing by Monopoly  But since this forum is video games, especially computer games oriented, then:

  1. Nintendo: It was Top Gun and G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor
  2. Sega Genesis: X-Men
  3. Computer: Colorado

Yes... i'm old.

Elite on a BBC micro 1983. No typo. A bloke I worked with went to school with Ian Bell and got a copy nearly a year before it went commercial.

Played it every night and weekend till I became Elite.

Didn't really bother with anything else until 2004 when Elite became open source and reinvented as Oolite.

Became truly addicted and still play today.
