Illusion of freedom

Zeus just finished throwing his spears of lightning at... Sending torrents of water cascading down, and shouting thundering threats at... Safely from his floating city on the clouds above.

I wonder if there is any rooms available where he lives? Maybe some free (board and room in the) dom(e) of his godly home.

If today I were Hades, Persephone and I would have been warm and safe in each others arms; while Zeus tossed his spears, ranted, and roared. The rain has driven the dust to ground. The cool fresh air fills the space. The Sun peeked through for a moment to see who has need of Her rays, the well of tears swelled up again though and blocked her out.

Freedom is nothing more than an abstract idea.

I have travelled all across this planet experiencing different societies and governments. Each one is designed to extoll it's virtues and ideas of freedom upon the masses, systematically eliminating those that disagree.

The problem is the human element. There has always existed those who enjoy causing harm and pain to others. If laws eliminated this behavior it would have ceased to exist long ago. Obviously laws aren't the answer.

A Utopian society might enjoy some form of 'freedom', however, such a society does not exist.

Comparing nations in regards to how much 'freedom' they enjoy is pointless. Why? Study human history and it will become apparent that our main preoccupation is conflict with each other. Pick a side and destroy the other so that you are free from their tyranny. Rinse and repeat.

I agree.

Today I was told about homeless problem in California and I was going to question American capitalistic freedom - if they can let someone down and not help him in his need because they have no social network (or whatever it is called), isn't it a crime against humanity ? (also I start to understand why there are so many SJW in America) But then I saw this:

https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/apple-commits-2-5-billion-to-fixing-california-housing-crisis/

The whole capitalistic idea kept together because someone rich is good? I think they couldn't count with that in capitalistic economic theory so what is the capitalistic system of safe social network support for people who faced crisis? Fall and die? If they say that the system will take care of itself - the system is based on being the strongest and let the weak die, isn't it? Or am I missing something?

The truth is there was never homeless in my country during communism (yes, I know some people did explain to me here that the name is a lie and it was socialism, but the name is set already). And now with democratic government it is some percentage, but not this big amount of people.

But who knows, I think I have read somewhere that the economy can crash from time to time and a lot of people will end up there.

EDIT:

Also the most common description of freedom was always ZOO vs jungle laws, I can add- vs domestic animals. I wander if it is possible to apply it all the time. Maybe most o the time. And I was always OK with it. But then you face circumstances you cannot deal with and suddenly you are glad that you can have atleast some support from the state.

I changed this to political agenda again - but really it is not, just trying to discover how people really live and how it can influence how they feel - like if they feel hate to people who have good life while they live under the bridge. Also I have special sentiment to homeless. I never forget how one of them told me to be happy because life it too short to be sad when I was sad just walking around, while he was sitting among piles of trash.

But I agree with the statement that nothing is perfect really.

Taxing one group to support another really isn't a viable option. Especially when a significant percentage of those you are trying to 'help', really don't want it. We have the lowest unemployment numbers in over 50 years, and there are a LOT of jobs available, but, no one to fill them. Giving the homeless 'handouts' only perpetuates the problem. (why work if someone else is willing to provide for all your basic needs?) Retraining the folks whose jobs have disappeared for whatever reason, would be a much better plan. Of course, for some of those homeless folks, they are indeed incapable of working...... some are even leftovers from when President Reagan did away with most of our mental health-care system, and kicked the bulk of those folks out on to the street...... Also note, the homeless are now tending to migrate toward the cities that offer them the most handouts...... They keep increasing the amount of money they spend to 'combat' the problem, and in reality, all they are doing is making their problem worse....

Should I devise a new exciting plan to acquire fresh food grown on the surface, in the valley, or over the plains?

I'd say roof tops may end up being a preferred field of harvest in the future.

Probably energy sources off the bat , but food grown could be one too ?

ROofs that look like mountain rice patties . And ~Rocket stoves ~~~! for cooking and other heat uses.

In most cases the more of your freedom you give up the more wealthy you become and vice versa. The trick (in a capatlistic society) is to find where on that spectrum is most comfortable for you and try to achieve it. When you try to have it all you usually end up with neither.

Looking back on my life, the best times for me were the ones that I had the least in material wealth.

Ya my experience is less money makes you more creative. Life hacking I guess :pirate: ?

But Supposedly Trump is fairly wealthy ... and he is vERy creative !@#

Unless those rumors that he is really a popper are true ?

basically ... in debt up to his ears ...

Poor Trump having to subsist on a meager half mil of the presidents salary ... can you imagine the pain he is feeling ?

Sheesh ... that is probably just enough to cover his plumbing bill ... no wonder he eats fast food. :whistling:

I've been through the life of those choices and wealth isn't gotten from having cash, gold. The only treasure wealth gives us are the many people with excellent talent in every stage of lifes paintings.

Edit Editted again. Ooh. I'm going to like my new style of Pie Ala Mode. Quid pro quo.
