  1. Your problem is probably a missing mod needed for the one of the others to work.It might also be a load order issue or a new mod that conflicts with a mod you had already installed. You can test if it is a mod that requires OBSE causing the problem by using the Oblivionlauncher.exe in you Data folder to start the game without OBSE. OBSE is not the culprit, but a missing OBSE plugin can be.
  2. Your issue is probably where you have Oblivion installed. I have Vista myself and I have Oblivion installed in C:Games\Oblivion instead of C:Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. I made C:Games by reinstalling Oblivion and changing the install path. I have the protection from malware provided by UAC, without the hassles it causes to any modded games. You will not need to move your saved games, and on my desktop I was able to merge a copy of Oblivion with all of my mods and utilities with the new install. I just had to make a few desktop icons look in the correct folder after the merging.
  3. Playing with your load order may fix this problem.BOSS (TESNexus php?id 20516-be sure to download the latest BOSSlog while you are there!) is the best tool available to sort out a load order issue. Try using the Unofficial Oblivion Patches on your game. You may have a badly made mod that causes the problem. I use the conflict detectors in Oblivion Mod Manager to troubleshoot my game, but there are other programs available like TES4edit available<--I am not sure about the spelling.
  4. Go to the Anvil docks and talk to the Redgaurd at the far left of the docks.-If it is night he may be in the Fo'csle Inn.EDIT Procis Daurius is wearing a red shirt and pants, He may be inside of his tent. He will tell you to go to the Anvil docks. Sorry about that.
  5. If you have Windows Vista or 7 Steam should be installed in a custom folder like C:Games and NOT in C:Program Files.I was trying to help a poster get BBB to show up in his Steam game. He had to install his mods as OMODs with Oblivion Mod Manager to get any changes to show up in his game.
  6. Main Skills (1) Hand to Hand (2) Block (3) Alchemy (4) Alteration (5) Restoration (6) Acrobatics or Atheletics (7) Sneak,Illusion, or the skill you did not choose for (6). For Birthsign you are probably better off with Warrior, but Atronach is a second option because Fireballs will hit you when you get close to an opponent. For an unarmored combatant with hand to hand strength and speed are good choices for main attributes. I added quite a few magic skills because you will be unarmored, alteration has shield spells, alchemy offers restorative potions, and a blocking with your arms will hurt you so restoration is a useful skill. Acrobatics gives you more dodging options and atheletics allows you to close with opponents sooner. Illusion and sneak will allow you to get closer to an opponent without being seen.
  7. The messenger (Ignar Rodblock?) will not look for you in cities, the best place to wait is the area around Weye. The second quest takes two weeks game time to activate, but if you wait in Kvatch you will never get it. I do quests until the messenger finds me, and it has been inside an Oblivion Gate before. The FAQ covers the details on requirements for the Falling Flowers (3rd quest). Some mods do require patches to work with Kvatch Rebuilt.
  8. To fix hair with Wrye Bash, select the saves tab and select the save you want to fix by right clicking on it.When the save is selected left click to bring up the options and select Repair hair-it is the last option available.
  9. You can copy your current configuration settings in Documents\My Games\Oblivion( the file is also called Oblivion) and then delete the original to make the game create a new one.You just need to reset your screen resolution and reenable some tweaks like border removal and screenshots. If your sounds return you are happy, if they do not then reinstall the copy you made. Look at mods that you installed around the time your sounds did dissappear for a possible culprit.
  10. Is Oblivion esm checked in your Data Files or the utility that you use to activate your mods?Is your game patched to 1.20416? Could you play the game before you started adding mods?<---- I add this because many people will add non vanilla content to the game without ever playing.
  11. Place the bed and bedroll meshes in a folder so you can reinstall them and then delete them. Hopefully the game will revert back to the vanilla resources from the bsa's. If the beds do not fix themselves you still have the meshes to reinstall from the folder. The beds should be in Meshes\furniture- they are inside upper/lower and middle class. I am not sure where the bedrolls are if they have been added by a mod.I took a closer look at your load order >>>You may fix the problem with BOSS. clothing mods usually go into the upper half of a load order.<<<
  12. If they do not fall completely through a bed, just fall into the bed a little, like when you walk on a carpet in game. I might not change it at all. You probably lowered the "level" of the bed and bedrolls accidentally I am not sure if it is a pathgrid or mesh issue. You do use Wrye Bash, so your problem could be fiIxed by deleting a few meshes to cause the beds and bedrolls to revert to vanilla.
  13. I have Oblivion and the rest of my PC games installed in C:Games instead of C:Program Files. C:Games is a custom folder you can create when you install most games on your computer.I avoid UAC completely when I play, and it still protects my computer from malware. The most recent version of the CS can be downloaded for free from Bethesda Softworks and TESNexus if the GOTY version is not current.EDIT I use Wrye Bash to trick the CS into thinking an esp is an esm (esmify) when I make patches or modify a partner to use clothing and armor from a store I have installed.I have to remember to change the "esm" back into an esp (espify) before I play again.ANOTHER EDIT The CS also uses RAM, if you do not have enough free RAM the CS will crash on save. Read the pinned Topic "Oblivion Modding Links" in Oblivion>Oblivion Modification>General Mod Talk. The Topic has links to articles on modding and is the second place I look when I run into problems with the CS myself.
  14. Each time the Construction Set crashes when you place your new CM partner does not mean that the esp failed to register the changes you made. You can edit the esp in the CS to remove the extra clones, but it helps to know where the clones are placed when you delete them.
  15. Do you have any mods installed on your game yet? The Unofficial Oblivion Patches might fix it if you only have the DLC's and Knights installed. Is your game running on version 1.20416 (like the two disc GOTY) yet?
  16. You do not need to move your saves at all. On my desktop I copied everything after Bethesda Softworks and carefully merged it with the new installation. On my laptop I had to move the game to a remote hard drive and reinstall my old Data folder on to the new install from the remote hard drive, and had to wait almost an hour and a half to complete the process, but it was faster than reinstalling all of the mods one by one manually.EDIT If you do not have a program that automatically fixes missing hair issues on saved games I used a utility Show Race Menu Fix to correct the hair loss issues (TESNexus php?id 4802) The utility would repair the save so I could use "show race menu" without a ctd.
  17. I would try giving Colourwheels a higher priority than TNR by adding or modifying the bash tags.
  18. Some race mods cause conflicts on hair and eye selection, Sometimes playing with the load order can fix the issue. Wrye Bash can be used to fix this problem too. Renaming the haistyles and applying them with the Construction Set is also an option.
  19. You could try BOSS to sort out your load order. You have a lot of mods that change armors and a bad installation could cause the female armor to appear on a male, but if they have an imperial female voice??? Colourwheel has a mod that makes Imperial Legion members and gaurds that are not necessary for a quest female, but it has an esp, and when the esp is unchecked the characters revert to vanilla. The problem you are having is the reason I began installing my mods as OMODs. I also keep every mod I download and install in a folder called "Oblivion Downloads", so I can find the readme for all the mods I do have active and see if it has been known to cause problems. I also to read the comments on mods before I download them so I will have an idea of problems the mod may cause in my game. Your problem is probably a replacer that did not have an esp to begin with.
  20. Cobl has a few options for added realism like hunger and thirst. I know there are some other mods that will do the same thing, but I do not know the names of them.
  21. If you do not have FCOM or OOO you do not need the Kvatch rebuilt compatability esp's, just Kvatch Rebuilt esm and esp.I do not know what TFF is but read the readme and make sure you dont have any extra esp's installed for it as well. There are also UOP's available for the DLC's like Frostcraig and Battlehorn. They are in an OMOD (TESNexus php?id 9969) for easy installation with Oblivion Mod Manager(OBMM TESNexus php?id 2097). This problem was also discussed recently on the Forums, but I am not sure how it was fixed. If I can find the Topic again I may edit this post.EDIT 11:17 CST U.S. I looked up the topic and the glitch was caused by entering the shivering isles without using the portal. The fix was using the portal to enter and exit the Shivering Isles. I hope one of the UOP's can fix your glitch.
  22. Have you fully re-updated Windows by installing all of the updates from Microsoft? Did you reinstall all of the drivers for your video card,CD/DVD drive,DirectX and all of the other things you forget to reinstall and update when you do a reinstall after wiping your hard drive yet?
  23. I can think of two separate causes of this problem. (1) When I play for a long time, or pause my game the maps have dissappeared before, but they would reappear when I saved, quit and restarted Oblivion.(2) A mod has caused a change to your configuration settings in Documents\My Games\Oblivion. The file is also called Oblivion. Make a copy and put it some place safe, then delete the original and restart your game to generate a new one. You will need to rest your screen resolution and some tweaks like border removal and allowing screenshots.Hopefully the maps will reappear. If nothing has changed then you can install the copy you made and look for bben46's guide to revert to vanilla-Article 240 on TESNexus.
  24. An improperly installed or missing body replacer can cause this problem. Are the floating heads male or female? Slof does not make this kind of mistake in her mods. Did you install all of the necessary mods and plugins to allow the robe trader to work? The readme will tell you what you need for a mod to work properly.Do you use Oblivion Mod Manager to convert your downloads into OMODs for easy installation and removal yet? Please Post your load order.
  25. There are programs that will allow an Apple Computer to imitate Windows XP, I am not sure what the programs are called or how to get them. Oblivion is a resource hog, meaning it uses more memory (RAM) and processor operations than many other games.
