  1. Where the Oath is concerned, I think it's been lost over the years and each new Blades generation has either added or removed parts of it, so maybe we should come up with our own oath depending on our path, the one that is said in game is good and all, but it doesn't really get down to the brass tacks of what the Blades represent or what they should represent. For a Dragonslayer oath, we can pretty much keep the current one, but if we go down the Dragon Ally path, we will need a new oath, one that fits with the overall mission of the Blades, as well as the hardships they faced. Pretty much a way of taking the history of the Blades, and turning it into an oath to hold the honor of the faction as well as the members, the honor of Talos, and the empire he built, the honor of the Septim bloodline, who made sacrifices of sweat, blood, and tears to keep the world safe and the Empire intact. The sacrifice of Martin, everything that has had a significant impact on the Blades as a whole, these events have shaped the Blades through the ages, but it seems to have been forgotten, instead they've been focusing the oath on the here and now, instead of what it really means to be a Blade, which now that the dragons have returned might (should in my opinion) go back to their old name, the Dragonguard. My thoughts go all over the place with this, I have an idea, but trying to put it into words I keep hitting a block, but this should give a general idea, hopefully.
  2. I like numbers 7 and 8, but what happened to the spikes on the underside that looked like they were going around the blade under the head?
  3. Paarthurnax leaves initially after returning from Sovengarde, but you can still go up the mountain and talk to him, he has to remain in the world so we can change the meditations he offers us. As far as the Fallen quest goes, I would talk with Budz42 about how he's handling that, and how we obtain Odahviing as an ally or if we get some new dragon, though I think it will remain the same
  4. Sounds good, but I've all ready maxed out my Pickpocket and Lockpicking skill trees, so it might cause glitches unless someone starts a new character, so perhaps just adding a new perk tree would be better?
  5. They are reptilian, not reptiles. Big difference
  6. That kind of racism for my Argonian will not be tolerated, calling us "Lizards" really...we might look like them, but we are not lizards!, I supported the Stormcloaks, then after we drove the Empire out I chopped Ulfric's head off for the murder of the High King...will need a mod to sort out the rest of the problems that plague Skyrim, like no new Jarls since I killed the ones that were only on Ulfric's side for power not the people. As the Dragonborn, you have the power curb the threat of the Dragons, making them allies, then no one will stand much of a chance of dominating the new empire that we should be able to create.
  7. I would download one just so it seems more natural, but an underwear version of any new body would be ideal, after all, why would someone looting a dead body take their underwear too? That's just nasty...wearing another persons underwear....
  8. I think a combination of 2 and 3 would work out the best. From 2: The teeth, and the way the tail wraps around the hilt, like it was an actual dragon. Maybe the Scales, but I don't know. From 3: Everything but the way the tail wraps the hilt --- I really like 3, and 2 has some features on it that I think would make 3 look more unique and refined, but if I had to pick just one of these, it'd be 3 with teeth.
  9. No, we aren't going to mess with any other guild. You'll still be able to do everything you could before, we're just expanding on the Blades, and changing a single quest to give more options for that quest that we feel railroaded us in a single direction.
  10. I agree it would work better as a village of some sort, but we'd still have to buy the land, we'd still have to build walls, houses, and it wouldn't have been strictly a player house, if you've ever played Morrowind, (some of us probably have), the Great Houses allowed you to buy land, and build a small stronghold/village there. And the house for the player would just be there to keep up appearances. That's what I was thinking we could do here, we'd have to be a thane, and friend of the presiding Jarl, we then buy that land and build upon it, some of the work is done all ready, it's just a matter of clearing out the enemies, and building fortifications for defense from bandits and otherwise. If there is a mine fairly close to the Karthspire, we could buy that as well and use it as a source of income (another thing taken from Morrowind). So, we can have a dwelling there, and while we own it, and can do everything like sleep and store our items there it won't be a player home in the sense that the other houses are. It's just a way to keep hidden things that we don't want our enemies to find. So in this dwelling, we could have a blood seal, but instead of the seal like the one used at the main entrance, if someone other then the Dragonborn tries to open it, they get shocked and paralysed, each time stronger then the last, and it would sound a kind of alarm inside the Temple telling everyone that someone has tried to sneak in. But this won't be common knowledge between the Blades should any of them be Thalmor spies.
  11. We can't absorb Alduins soul because he's not a simple dragon, he's the first born, so he's pretty much a god in his own right. When we kill him, instead of the soul going into us, it goes into the sky, pretty much being reabsorbed into the Aetherius, where he will eventually reform, and the process starts all over again. Maybe there will be another Dragonborn there to stop him the next time, maybe next time he'll succeed in eating the world, but either way his part in our story ends when he dies in Sovengarde. At least that's how I see it. The lore of these events could change when the 6th game comes out.
  12. Karthspire Fort/House/Stronghold: This will/should tie in with the mod called "Improving the Blades" as that would be the only reason to build at the Karthspire, just outside of Sky Haven Temple. What I like about the Karthspire camp is that not only is it on an island, it also has several things that could be useful to anyone wanting to build something there, a forge, alchemy table, enchanter, it's got a river flowing through it with a few small, but deep pools before it continues on it's path. It's got everything a stronghold would need, everything except a mine or some kind of business for income. I'm thinking of something along the lines of the Great Houses of Morrowind, where when you advanced enough, they allowed you to build a home in a specified location. You'd supply the gold, they'd handle everything else. From the building to the hiring of workers and guards, etc. That's what I'm thinking could happen here. We'd buy the land as our right as Thane of which ever hold owns the land, we then develop it into our own personal stronghold. Requirements: Thane of Hold Friend of Jarl Enough money to buy land (150,000 Gold seems about right for the size of the Karthspire area) Things We can build: Walls House Houses for Guards and Workers Farmland A Shop A vault A storage room (To hide the entrance to Sky Haven Temple) An underground tunnel to secretly enter the Temple, opened only by a Blood Seal, so only a Dragonborn may open the tunnel entrance to prevent anyone who may discover it from entering the temple unnoticed. People We need to Hire: Workers for the various services as well as the building itself Guards to protect the workers (These will be disguised Blades, the recruits from the Temple. They won't be allowed to use the Blade armor or Akaviri weapons while in plain sight) Merchants to move in to build revenue A few villagers just to give the area some life, only a few like 5 people, maybe a few kids, but not a lot, we're not building a settlement, just a stronghold.
  13. Well, there are a few ways to handle it if we go that route, they are all somewhere in this topic, one of them being we learn some way, some technique ancient Dragonborn used to release the souls of captured dragons back into their bodies after death, and if their body was destroyed (Bones removed, skull missing, etc) the soul would form into a spectral dragon. So in bringing him back to life, we may simply bring back his ghost, which would still work. There could also be another technique that's more dangrous, but could also bring back the body as well, but it comes with the cost of some of the casters own life force, (permanent damage to health), but it would bring back the pieces of the dragons body, no matter where they might be.
  14. I like the teeth. It gives it the look of it "breathing" the blade instead of it just being attached. I don't know about scales. It all depends on how graphic intensive everything will be.
  15. What I like about the Karthspire camp is that not only is it on an island, it also has several things that could be useful to anyone wanting to build something there, a forge, alchemy table, enchanter, it's got a river flowing through it with a few small, but deep pools before it continues on it's path. If it comes down to it, I could just make this standalone, but I can't build interiors. I'm really bad at that. So I'd need someone to do the interiors, the exterior would be easy. I can do simple scripting, but this is more of a team project then something I can do alone, and if I did it alone it'd take me longer then I'd like.
  16. It's very unlikely to happen, if it was a new bloodline, sure it could be possible, just not in this mod. Put the request for this in it's own topic and see if anyone agrees with you, if it is ever made, maybe there could be a tie in, but I doubt it. It's just not a possibility, the only way and this is a very far-fetched idea it would be possible would be if someone used an Elder Scroll to re-write history, which would undoubtedly cause another Dragon Break, breaking the continuity of time, likely causing the very evils we sought to banish from the world to be reborn. But still this is a mod revolving solely around the Blades and the dealings with dragons and the world as a whole. No "Let's make a new Empire" here. That's for another time and another mod. Now to get us back on track, what does everyone think about my idea of turning the Karthspire camp into a player home/fort/something? A front for the Blades and a defensive line against attacks by the Thalmor. To reiterate it: We go to the Jarl of Markath (or what ever hold the Karthspire area is part of), if we are the Thane of Markarth (or whatever hold the Karthspire area is part of), we can buy the land surrounding the Karthspire for say 150k gold. After we buy this land we hire people to build us either a fort (might be a nice addition) or a mansion. It will require a large amount of gold to finish this building, but when it is done it could act as a first line of defense for anyone wanting to enter the cave where Sky Haven Temple is, we could even use this building as an excuse to put a gate in front of the cave saying something like "I've converted this cave into a storage room" or vault or something that would require a gate to be put up which would give the temple another line of defense. No towns, no villages, just a simple home for a Thane outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. I think it could work, we'd have a front for receiving new recruits. We could build a tunnel system connecting the temple and this house so no one realizes people are coming and going from this supposed vault/storage room/whatever. This fort/house/thing could also be a good front for a shop, we invite a merchant to live in the place and sell their wares to anyone who passes by, the gold from the sales would go to the Blades. We'd have to supply the shop with items from time to time, but it might work.
  17. It still doesn't make much sense, as that would make Delphine a Dragonborn, making the player what? What role would we play if there is another dragonborn? We wouldn't have one because we wouldn't exist, and I think if Martin did have a child with one of the female Blades, the other Blades would know about it, and none of what has happened would have come to pass.
  18. Well, there is a mod in the works to rectify this, and it's turning out to be quite good. while I still killed him, I have since reset the quest and spawned a new version of Paarthurnax since his skeleton vanished, he doesn't really land any more though...that's a bug I might have to fix myself...though I don't want to...
  19. I was reading up on some Redguard lore, and I came across the lore of the Sword-Singers or Ansei http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ansei I was wondering if someone could help make a mod to bring this group of warriors back into the land. It would have to be for all races, not just the Redguards, and to be accepted you'd have to pass a few tests, the first one being actually finding this group. Tests: 1. Find the group in a hidden cave/ruin/location 2. Prove your swordsmanship to them 3. Prove you are worthy to learn their secrets (All I've got so far, I'm thinking maybe 5 tests before you are accepted at the lowest rank) --- After being accepted you have to work your way up the ranks until you can begin learning how to form a Spirit Sword, after this, you learn to form better versions as you increas your rank in the group, eventually becoming a master who can form any kind of weapon out of their spirit, be it blade, blunt, or even bow..
  20. The problem with a descendant of the Septim line is that it can never happen. The line was wiped out by the Mythic Dawn during the Oblivion Crisis. Martin was the last Septim. Whats wrong with starting a new empire, a new bloodline? Why do we have to rely on the blood of a Septim? Not to mention, it's a little weird to have an Argonian Septim...I doubt that would be logical...There can never be another Septim bloodline, but we can always start a new one. But it's beyond the scope of this mod which will focus on the Blades, not the Empire. I'm all for a mod that allows the PC to rally Skyrim and march into Hammerfell, and drive out any Thalmor there, then move on to Cyrodiil, drive them from there, then Elsweyr, then Valenwood, then finally Alinor (Summerset Isles), we then reform the Empire, stronger then it was before. But not in this mod, a mod that could tie in with this one sure, but not a main goal of this one.
  21. Thalmor Splinter Faction - 135A0 Thalmor - 39F26 MQ201 Thalmor Faction - 39F27 Thalmor - Fooled By PC Disguise - 6B2FC All that was needed was press "Page Up" a few times to see the FACT codes. So simply use the code: player.Addfac 39f26 Alternately: player.addtofaction 39F26
  22. Not changing Paarthurnax's or Odahviing's soul, changing our own. Like he says, it's the nature of Dovah to dominate, the will to power is in our blood, perhaps through strict training we can change the nature of the dragon soul in us (the player) so we can more easily follow our own path, instead of the path of our blood. I wouldn't presume to be able to change the nature of any dragon, it's a personal choice and a battle that one has to fight alone. Like in the quest to cure yourself of Lycantrophy (sp), you have to fight the beast that has taken root in your soul, defeat it and you are cured, lose, and you remain a werewolf. Like how that goes, we have to defeat the nature of the beast, curb the desire to dominate all those we see. It's all ready apparent, though we may not realize it, we do it to most people we meet all ready, our followers, why do they follow us? Why should they follow us? It's a question I ask myself all the time. Since my last post I've gone back into the game and used the console to both reset the quest (even though it still says I completed it I can talk to the Greybeards again so it must have worked), I then set it to the final stage just in case, though with no visible effect. So while I completed the Paarthurnax quest, hopefully this will make it so the game thinks I haven't. Also we aren't replacing anything, change is not replace, because we will still be us, just not someone who dominates others so easily. We could have side effects for this drastic change, weakening of our voice which we then have to train perhaps with perk points by creating a brand new skill tree if possible. I agree, if we kill him, we can bring him back as he has now paid for his crimes, whatever they may have been, which satisfies both the Blades and the Greybeards (The Greybeards because we have brought back their leader, though there might still be some animosity for killing him in the first place.)
  23. But it could be argued that Odahviing could be just as useful as Paarthurnax in that regard. And the Greybeards and Paarthurnax don't use the voice for anything, good or bad. They just sit up there and "meditate", basically doing nothing. I have to agree with Delphine on one thing...the Greybeards fear their power. We kill Paarthurnax, but we go to the Greybeards for forgiveness saying something like "I was misguided and overwhelmed by the dragon soul within me with the desire to rule, but after he was dead you felt regret, and went on a quest to find a way to change the soul within from one who seeks to dominate to one who seeks peace with the other races", you can then have Odahviing take Paarthurnax's place as Grandmaster of the Greybeards, or use the shout Alduin uses to resurrect the other dragons, it could be used on Paarthurnax as an alternate path so people don't have to start a new character to go the Dragon Ally path. So with divergent paths, for this quest we have: Paarthurnax alive and kicking (Ignore the Paarthurnax quest given by the Blades) Paarthurnax dead, but Odahviing in his place Paarthurnax alive after using the shout "Slen Tiid Vo!" ― "Flesh Time Undo!" Going down this path on our own without the aid of Paarthurnax, and as we gain power over the other dragons we send them to the Greybeards to learn the Way of the Voice from them. This is my only real issue because I've gone so far past the point of killing him that I don't want to go back to that save so I can have dragon allies. I don't like killing dragons all the time.
  24. I support this idea as long as I can kick Ulfric and some of his Jarls out on their butts.
  25. Just had an idea, about the Karthspire camp, what if we as the player build our own house there? Think about it: We go to the Jarl of Markath, if we are the Thane of Markarth, we can buy the land surrounding the Karthspire for say 150k gold.
