  1. With the introduction of "ghosts" from Dead Money, I'd like to see some creepy mods with things like the bioshock "ghost people" or horror quest mods with really creepy storylines (Please no ripping the plot of RE or Silent Hill and say "U MAK DIS PLZ?")
  2. It's still an idea only, I mean I believe that pieces of these ideas have made their way into mods. Like theres a hunting virtual reality thing inside DantheGeeks Underground Hideout mod, and here in the forums AllenOcelot is working on a large mod called "New Vegas Hunting Grounds" based on the thread linked under the hunter job description. But other than those two which may not even be related to this, then no this is still up for grabs to modders and is not being made as far as I know, but I find resources from time to time and post them up anyways.
  3. People suggested new factions to go with the Apocolypse Powered Armor, also I know there is a brand new Vault Tec based armor, so perhaps some surviving Vault-Tec men can cause some trouble.
  4. Yes, I have about 50 other mods on top of nVamp, like weapons, companions, quest mods, etc. I don't seem to have any problems.
  5. Very cool, do you plan to finish that armor? or are you planning on starting from scratch with something else? I'd be interesting to see an armor made of lakelurk and crustation parts or just an organic armor since thats completely new, perhaps it'd be located inside the overgrown "jungle" vault. Anyways what you have so far looks pretty well, if you've never made an armor for Fallout before I'd suggest asking a vetern before you start working too much, I've heard that modders use some mapping technique to keep the poly count and filesize pretty low otherwise they'd lag the game like hell. Simply find an armor like you want to make, or pick an armor mod that looks good to you and simply message the author and ask for a bit of advice. Since people willing to spend hours making things to share with others arn't usually a-holes. Of course, some are, just so ya know.
  6. No 3DS isn't required, otherwise there'd be a lot less content available since 3DS is expensive I hear.
  7. Well it really depends on the person. I actually got bored with New Vegas after like the third playthrough, because It was not challenging anymore. I'd killed every person/creature before, modded guns are fun but are usually overpowered, and I suspect that the A.I behavior in Fallout is based on poo-flinging monkeys, otherwise a guy with a baseball bat would never run up to me when I'm holding a bloodsoaked chainsaw that I'm revving up. ---------------------------Project Neveda------------------------ Project Neveda is a great contimplation mod and introduces many unique and enjoyable new features in very polished ways. Its pretty stable and works well with many other mods, so each user can customize how it works to thier own liking.. I don't think I can ever play Fallout again without sprinting and the grenade hotkey. The effect it has with armor helmets is very cool too, and rather realistic. The cybernetics menu looks like it was made by the developers, It doesn't look out of place in the slightest. It's rather small in filesize so its pretty quick to install and so you can play much sooner. However, in the end, your still stuck with the same unchallenging gameplay and likely you've done a lot of the quests a few times before by now. So If your happy with the current combat and either have good quest mods or haven't finished exploring the wastes then it's all you need. ------------------------------------nVamp------------------------------------ If you find that you do want more than Project Neveda offers, then nVamp or the "New Vegas Advanced Mod Project" is the first thing you need to get. nVamp is a HUGE contimplation of all the top mods for New Vegas (including Project Neveda) as well as some less known but high quality mini-mods as well. I myself use nVamp but I can honestly say that I almost didn't because it can be hell to get everything just right. nVamp does everything that P.N does and much, much, much more, and while it may be a bigger hassle to setup and intall, after it is, you'll find that Fallout is on par with Gears of War and Halo when it comes to gameplay and features. First I will list the few problems I had and I'll post how to fix them to save you the horrors I endured =P. nVamp is huge, I mean its likely over 1.5 Gigabytes (which is around 250 times the size of Project Neveda) so it will take a lot of time to download, even with high-speed your likely going to be downloading and installing things for at least an hour, maybe more if your not used to install mods for Fallout. However their site is very helpful, and they have links to every mod you need to download fist and have detailed step-by-step guides on how to install everything, including load orders. The first problem I had was one of the master mod files (esm file) needed to run nVamp is not located on Nexus because the creator was banned a long time ago, but they do have a link to every mod you'll need on their site, and even have a list with suggestions for optional mods that complement nVamp. Just in case others have trouble the one I couldn't find is a mod called "Hardened" aka "HarderThan.esm" in the load order list. The second problem is more likely to affect people and make you want to start a nuclear war in frustration. This mod requires that you can use Wyre Bash, its realitivly easy to get and setup but some unlucky people have computers or an OS that refuses to let it work. On thier main installion guide page they don't offer an alternative. Which is bad, since Wyre Bash (to me) seems to be a pretty technical program. However I found deeo in thier forums that people can also use FNVedit instead. You simply load up the correctly organized load order (they have 2 very easy to use examples to help you) and then select all the mods at once.....then you [right click] and chose "Make Merged Patch" and ta-da your done. Despite the problems, I'll never touch New vegas again without nVamp. It includes Project Neveda and all its features. Adds "new" creatures, enemies, and locations to explore. Combat becomes utterrly unforgiving, you will die...often..Very often. You can just run out and shoot anymore, you have to start being tactical, and sometimes you'll be forced to sneak past enemies that used to be nothing to you. Suddenly radscorpians are now a very serious threat, and deathclaws are truly like demons, god forbid you get more than one at a time. Creatures arn't the only ones getting tough, A.I behavior gets a good improvement as well, you won't see the idoit kamakize raiders who try to beat you down with a wood bat when your in full power armor, they'll throw grenades, or pick up guns if they can before they try to come close to you. In addition to being smarter and tougher, your likely to encounter larger groups of enemies, in places where you used to find 3-4 small radscorpians, may now have 5-7 radscorpians and might be tougher varients like giant or something worse. It works the same with raiders and patrols as well, on a route where maybe you knew you'd be attacked twice by wimpy guys, may now be a death trap of endless attacks. Introduces tons of new armors, weapons, and items. And things have changed. Remember those guns that used to rip through all kinds of armor?, yeah now they just tickle your enemies. Grenades and mines are suddenly very realistic, (As in your not walking away if you step directly on a mine.) Most Grenades will send you (and everyone around you) flying (I suggest you find a mod to make autosave more often, and make your companions esstential) The world isn't only after you anymore!! Before it seemed like animals and opposing factions would stop, team up, and kill you first. Now when you travel your likely to find animals hunting each other or faction patrols fending of predators and radiers and they will likely ignore you unless you get too close or your companions decide to join in. Skills and Perks are now very important and depend on one another. Like if you put enough points in guns then you automatically get awarded certain gun-related perks and also unlock completely new ones to choose from. Survival, Repair and Science are fleshed out as well, the crafting/reloading list is much, much, bigger and more useful to you. There are several large and small quest mods and areas added in as well so you may find youself exploring completely new areas with new rewards. The mod also includes certain performance enhancing mods like graphic updates, new HUD elements, customizable features while in-game, and mods to allow the game to run better on your computer. Weapons are now rather difficult to aim or throw, based on your skills you may be completely unable to land a shot on anything thats not right in your face. VATS is still an option however, or they offer the alternitive of "Bullet-Time" where everything slows down just enough to let you aim yourself, and just like VATS, Bullet-Time consumes your AP so it doesn't last forever. The new ammo and weapon system will likely confuse and frustrate you a bit when you start off, but eventually its easy, and it keeps you from playing the same as before nVamp since its unfamilar, Weapon mods also very expanded and become valuable quick. And theres lots I didn't mention but I feel I've said enough.
  8. Since I've been releasing pictures in the image share to gain interest I decided to go out and find some new content as well. So here are some new armors I found rather quickly. MI-03p Suicide Host Armor MI-02a Personal Armor - This looks like (to me) like the Crysis suit took some serious steriods. "Hardy Jack" Grim Soldier Power Armor WSF Power Armor Helmet concept Azure Eyes Powered Armor F.L.A.K Assault Suit Closed Assault Combat Armor Corporate Infantry Combat Armor Riot Class Combat Powered Suit Black Rogue Metal Armor "H.A.I.S.E" Heavy Armoured Infantry Supplement Exoskeleton German World War 3 Armor Concept
  9. Well don't worry, people seem to be constantly wanting more undead enemies, and no with "Dead Money" we may see ghosts and new types of undead pop-up. Personally I like those ghosts since I'd use them like the "ghosts" in Bioshock, whicih is one of the best horror games. Thinking about that now. I'm going to suggest that should we get a few voice actors/volunteers that we could record creepy lines like enemies in Bioshock, and screams for help etc. Also we'd definitly need an air siren like Enclave1488 had in his Silent Hill video. Still love Enclave1488's video so I'm posting it on here for everyone to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TGB8SpTVDI&feature=player_embedded#!
  10. Someone just uploaded a new outfit in the works, don't you all think it'd be a great outfit for a medic? http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/images/2557751-1299543978.jpg Link To Image
  11. So Zombie Apocolypse/The Walking Dead or Invasion weren't enough? (Those are New Vegas Mods here at Nexus) Well I'm assuming you've tried those and yearned for more. I can't make anything but I will offer some interesting ideas that perhaps a modder will take and add so as to make zombie slaying mods more enjoyable. There are many zombie creature mods out there for new "undead" Heres an example of a possible new "zombie" Failed FEV Subject Tweaked - Modders Resource Theres much more resources for you to look into. An idea someone had awhile back to improve zombie mods was to voice a radio signals of survirors and safe havens. (Like I am Legend) The player walks around fighting zombies and picks up signals and investigates leading to either horrorible bloodbaths or humans. (Might make radio signalers into quest givers) Torch as a weapon is a mod that was recently released. nVamp makes ghouls and creatures truly terrifying like they are in survival games like Silent Hill (I get killed in 4 hits from ghouls now. And they have more HP and ammo is rarer) There are threads like Living Mannequins (Like In Bioshock) - Perhaps like in the new , you might find a town that the people were perserved in dust by a nearby nuke, only not everyone is actually dead.... Ghoulifed/Zombiefied Dogs - You could go on to making skeletal deathclaws, hellfire cazadors, hellhounds etc. Silent Hill and Various Horror Mods - A Thread with several links and videos of new and horrible creatures and semi-humans
  12. Perhaps like in the new GoW trailer, you might find a town that the people were perserved in dust by a nearby nuke, only not everyone is actually dead.
  13. I'm always happy to see competing content, since it encourages improvement. Also.......about that Nuka-Cola addiction......perhaps you should watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9UwlAAnlmg
  14. Also try downloading DarkFireGaming's weapons and t-shirt mod, it has a very well done gun that is also like those two.
  15. Is this for the Nuka-Cola Enhanced mod? (If It's not I apologize) Hmm I'm interested in this thread but I'm a bit busy so I'll post again later on, also I'll spend that time thinking up some recipes. Perhaps we should decide which flavor will be the most effective and helpful and which will have the lowest effects. That way the most "powerful" nuka-cola will be made of rare ingredients and the weakest made out of the most common ingredients. That way things will be balanced and encourage players to actually look for certain creatures/plants/items. I'm definitely suggesting some falvor use fission batteries as an ingredient.
  16. Go on and include it, since it will make your mod have better content. Most of the people who download your mod at first will probably be people who used your DCInteriors anyways, and they likely already or soon will have Dead Money, so true you will temporarily have fewer users, but not for long. Also, try and keep a door closed in Boulder City please if possible, I eventually want to put a new "Cafe Of Broken Dreams" there, and inside include recognizable NPCs from the Fallout series (like Braugn from TL, Dad from Fo3, Fawkes, Cassidy (Cass' Father From Fo2), etc. Again just a dream. Loved your work in D.C, it was fantastic! I'll post here again (I'm a bit busy at the moment) with some good modders resources and things that may help make your future release even more awesome.
  17. Okay this is the third time writing this, I will finally post this time (the site keeps being down when I post, twice now.) Okay to the first thing, all the Resources I gather and post are completely public, meaning that the authors are not involved, they want credit and thats it, so that saves all the hassle of messaging for permission and waiting. Second, Backstory and Lore huh? Well. Fallout is a very old series now (Close to 15 years old I believe), so there is undoubtably tons of fan-fiction, stories, and things to find. I'll try and point you to the best tidbits I can find though. One of the main developers wrote a series of documents called "The Fallout Bible" back during Fallout 2, it included tons of information that new Fallout players (Fallout 3, and New Vegas) don't know about. Then there are the Vault-Tec Publications as well. Also don't forget that a lot of the plots and stories of New Vegas were written years before Fallout 3, in the form of Project Van Buren but a lot of Van Buren was scrapped due to Beth not getting the copywrites and also wanting to seperate themselves from Fallouts true creators (Black Isle --> Interplay/Troika ---> Obsidion (and a few went to Bioware)) So in Van Buren there are tons of stories you could adapt to include or focus on the Lucky 38. Third, you want to include Fallout humor, that...I'm an expert at, I'm better at it than the developer Chris (nowadays anyways...his 'funny' isn't as good) Fallouts humor is composed of parodies, easter eggs, Black/Dark Comedy, and lots of pop-culture references. That is because the series started that way, a parody of 50's fear and sci-fi, and lots of pop-culture jokes = Fallout. Anyways, here are some tips. Referencing older Fallout games will definitely make people grin and smile. Fallout New Vegas does this pretty well, but there are things you could include like mentioning "The Cats Paw" or someone who avoids churches, saying "No, I'll never go near a church, bad things happen to churches back west, especially big ones." (This is a reference to the nuclear detonation of "The Masters Cathedral" those are just some quick and not very good examples. Pop-culture jokes and parodies are a stable of Fallout so they're good for humor. Like an Avatar joke about a traumatized guy/girl who was sexually attacked by a tall skinny blue alien Halo jokes are fun, easy, and easily recongnized. Red Vs. Blue references would be funny as hell. Especially Sarge. Bieber jokes. etc. Those are pretty easy. Dark comedy is kinda hard to write actually. The intent of black comedy, is to cause the other person to both laugh like hell and feel uncomfortable, often at the same time, it's main way to do this is by irony and karma. However you have to be careful because its very easy to go too far and then people are just pissed. Example: "A rapist gets raped by an alpha deathclaw and lives = funny and a bit scary" Going to far, Girl (No matter how evil) gets raped by anything = never funny. I've included clips of some Popular black comedies like Monty Python, Christopher Titus, and another JibJab video
  18. Hey Paladin, Here are some resources you may like to add in for decorations or things. Just in case =P Love the idea, I wrote something similar a few monthes ago so I'm glad to see this idea again. To help give you some support here are a "few" resources for you to use, and threads you can get some cool ideas from! There is a large piece I wrote with tons of backstories for players to take and recieve bonus' from, but you could use it to inspire stories for NPCs possibly as well. I believe there is a full list on this thread. ---------------------Resources For The Lucky 38 Possibly--------------------- New Vegas Resources Bobs Armory NV Resource - Modders Resource - Tons of custom headwear (hats, glasses, goggles) to make more interesting looking NPCs. Daily Jobs Thread - I took control of this thread at page 3 and summarized anything good that was posted before me, so only read from page 3 onward for all the good ideas and suggestions. Quest Mod Ideas - Please don't post on this thread, but its my personally organized thread I've made of very good and (so far) unmade quests and ideas that may be useful to the Lucky 38. You may get some ideas from the "Gifts or Souvenirs Idea" Thread Just for fun, if you can, try adding a poster with some of the rules from the "How to be a successful Evil Overlord List" in Mr. House's room, just for laughs. Within those threads are links to others like them so I'll leave the list at that. Anyways Best of Luck
  19. Love the idea, I wrote something similar a few monthes ago so I'm glad to see this idea again. To help give you some support here are a "few" resources for you to use, and threads you can get some cool ideas from! Mad Scientist "Your insane!" This is a common greating you recieve, while others call you mad and insane, you see nothing wrong with spraying your enemies with deathclaw mating pheromones and then pushing them into Sloans quarry as the male deathclaws come running..... "Mating time!!" That's part of a large piece I wrote with tons of selectable backstories for players to take and recieve bonus' from. Quest Mod Ideas - Please don't post on this thread, but its my personally organized thread I've made of very good and (so far) unmade quests and ideas. Just for fun, try giving a quick read of the "How to be a successful Evil Overlord List" The "What Would Be Your Vault's Experiment?" Thread has lots of creepy and fun ideas on new vault scenarios but maybe you can make them fit your scientist. The B-1000 is just a funny idea. Claptrap From Borderlands would make a great minion for a madman. Within those threads are links to others like them so I'll leave the list at that. Anyways Best of Luck
  20. Since Dead money, perhaps we could add a hologram texture on a few parts to make him even more interesting looking.
  21. I know that most people don't care anymore but I've just finished uploading what was left of S.E.R when the team suddenly disbanded. Here is a link to the file here on Nexus for anyone who is still interested however. Fallout Special Encounters Reborn Hopefully we can necro the project and make it the top mod of all the Fallout series.
  22. Well the mods have been made, I believe the one with bonus' does affect AP, charisma, and perciption but negitively effects endurance and intelligence. Which is a good comparison to the real effects from smoking. Cigarettes are stimulants so the AP and Perciption bonus, however it effects respiration and causes anexity so endurance and intellect are diminished. Then the charisma is likely because of the reason above.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9UwlAAnlmg Watch the video and you'll understand how it contains a hilarious vault idea, full of snack cakes.
  24. Everyone who has posted before, If at all possible I'd like everyone to record a general bunch of sounds. Like a general response list and various sounds like grunts and coughs to play from damage and then edit them into your posts. This way modders will have a good "general" pool to use from each "actor." Some Examples of these general sounds Some interchangable phrases like "You got it" "I'll do that" "Damn" "No" etc. A Scream or yell like a horror movie, (This is actually a personal request as I'd like to have a good variety of screams and yells and make a modders resource of them to enhance future and current horror mods) (Also you don't actually yell into a microphone at the top of your lungs, it doesn't work that way) Grunts of Pain (Ugh, Oww, Ouhh, hiss from a plasma burn) Random funny sounds of your choice. Various bits of accents you can do. Random dialoge of your choice.
  25. With all the new users that have arrived at the helm with the Dead Money DLC, is there anything poeple need to know involving scripts or objects from the DLC?
