  1. I'm posting a seperate thread for Eve since people really seem to like the idea, my original post can be found on the "Post Your Companion Ideas" thread, which you can post on after you read the guidelines for that thread. Otherwise don't bother people. Anyways. Onto Eve. ----------------------------Eve---------------------------- Her name (and personality) come from Elvis Presley's 1966 song " " Here is Elvis singing the song if you'd like to listen. "I'm lonely like Adam, you're evil like Eve" http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/images/1234539-1300886927.png I used Hayatoshi's Havestar photo to better illustrate how Eve would look like except Eve has dark hair. So this is just an idea, no one is currently making her so don't ask. Eve is a black haired beauty, with a soul just as dark. She's not a raider or ugly, she's likely one of the only post-war women to learn about make-up and how to look good as well as manipulate, because she learned from a young age that beauty and evil best go hand and hand. She usually wears her own combat armor which she got from killing a female officer who wasn't paying enough attention to a certain shadow, She's made her own "adjustments" to the armor since to make it feel more like it's unique to her. Eve has a past, she just won't tell it to anyone she doesn't trust and so far she doesn't trust anyone. Eve is from back west like the NCR but thats all they have in common, she was educated thanks to an old computer in some ruins she'd lived in for years, She has always known kindness, but also knows that behind every kind word someone speaks, there is a selfish motivation behind it. Shes travelled to the Mojave to find the one people she feels are truely honest with thier intentions and that are as dark and spiteful as she is. Eve's a sadist, but shes not vocal about it like raider women are, but it shows in her perfered ways of fighting people. She enjoys sneaking up on people and as she calls it "watching the lights go out." Of course she's smart enough to realize that melee combat is not the best choice in most situations, so she can use pistols and rifles, when she uses guns she likes scopes as well since it makes her feel like shes right in front of them as they fall. I haven't thought up how she and the Courier met up yet to be honest except she'd have to join them early in the gameplay since Eve is supposed to have trust issues and developing trust takes more that 5 minutes of voiceless dialog, I'll edit it in later if people like her. After her and the player meet which would be early in the game, She will join them after asking a lot of differing questions, players' answers will decide if she joins or not. Afterwards you go on about your normal playthrough with her as your companion, and during certain vanilla quests she'll give dialog and opinions and developes more character. Eventually after maybe 5-6 "important" quests (Ones that affect reputation and karma more than others.) She'll have opened up enough for the player to guess she's wanting to see and possibly become a part of the Legion since shes always been lied to and she feels the Legion is a truely honest (but evil) group. I've got more to write but I'll wait until readers ask for more since I've already posted a lot more than I thought I would, so if you liked Eve ask or comment about it and I'll post more about her.
  2. I think you'll need to create a new race to add in custom features and things like facial scars and things like dead eyes, (From working on Cassidy mod) I also think Riven wrote a little bit on the subject to help people with the "Rivens Famous Faces" mod.
  3. I'd like to hear from people on this on whether its possible or not since I'm shocked people haven't relplied since more often than not companions are uselessly in the way and this could utterly negate that in the future.
  4. Ha, Love all the monty python ideas, actually I brought up the same idea a long time ago if you'd like to see everyones ideas so far, we have begun work on the mod again but we really could use more modders. Here are the links to the original easter egg threads each is about 8-10 pages of posts so beware. Special Encounters Thread aka the discussion thread for the S.E.R mod (Special Encounters Reborn Mod) And then as a complementary thread to that one there is the "Post your Ideas For Easter Eggs and Encounters" Thread There are more ideas and things in the threads listed in my forum signature.
  5. Yeah this is definitely a game breaker for me, I can't play New Vegas till its fixed...=[ I've tried various console commands to work around it, but none had any effect, everytime I take the elevator after finishing the main quest, I just end up back in the hotel room, and not at the fountain.
  6. It seems like the script NVDLC01VaultElevatorScript is the one that is not activating. Hopefully a small bugfix mod or something can be released since Idk of any "StartScript" console commands.
  7. I'm having the exact same problem, I end up back in Veras room, So I figure theres a script on the door that isn't working for some reason, Since your player is supposed to activate the door and then I assume a script activates and puts you at the fountain. I'm currently trying to find out the script and see if you can force it to start using the console. However if anyone knows how to work around this problem already, help would be appriciated.
  8. We already have avoided that problem, there are actually plenty or resources you can take from Oblivion, just take from Mods that use no Obliivion data and are modders resources.
  9. Search "Paulson" on New Vegas Nexus, there is already a file with him, then just find a face exchange program or copy the facegen data and place it on your PC
  10. That sounds more like an interesting quest idea, but not really apart of this particualar mod. Thought of another feature you should add, Sometimes I'll make an enemy surrender but then they just become friendly and walk around like a normal NPC, perhaps a dialog option like.. "I'll let you live but I want to never see you again" which the enemy then gives up everything in their inventory and runs away to disappear. (a script perhaps to make them surrender armor and spawn wasteland rags so people don't have a ton of naked enemies running around but can still get the armor on them.) and then a second option to make them hostile again for good or evil players. "It's time for you to face Justice." (NPC goes hostile again, no karma effect besides normal) For evil players who don't have slave collars at that moment. "You should've kept fighting, now you'll just die on your knees." (NPC goes hostile, Negative karma effect)
  11. I agree with the previous poster, Perhaps a script that enables on the quest so when you select it (we'll call it 'QuestJob' for now) So like QuestJob=on Then FastTravel=disabled Turning off the quest is the problem though, people could turn it off, fast travel, then turn it right back on and be done.
  12. Hmm, things that might be interesting to add huh? Well I love the whistle feature, but sometimes I wanted the enemy to walk somewhere near me and not towards me, perhaps an idea like a rock or something the player can throw that gets enemies attention and they investigate. (Would have to be kinda rare to avoid people using it all the time) If possible, try to disable the script on certain major NPCs. It's kinda bad if I'm about to kill everyone in McCarren, and I can disarm people like Hsu before I even make anyone hostile. I liked your idea of expanding on your slaving system that you posted on "The Daily Jobs" thread. Oh, Ultimatum needs a more detailed readme if your going to include all your features from your previous mods. I'm post more later, Internet here is troublesome,
  13. I'm glad this thread is helping everyone, I never thought it'd be such a big thread, anyways sometime tomarrow I hopefully plan to reorganize the whole thread so that people can find information easier, also I'll post a list of tutorials that we are missing but should be either made or found. @Floatsup, I'm finally mail you about the mod tomarrow afternoon, I finally found the distillery in-game! And thanks for all the help on my threads! I'd give you kudos but I already have awhile back.
  14. Using the lore and what Cassidy was likely to do afterwards I've written a long and partly detailed story of how he'd likely have ended up in New Vegas and in a stasis module. Just waiting on Omega to read it and see if he wants to make any changes before I release some bits to give people ideas, if we end up agreeing on the story then likely you will end up seeing it in terminals and notes in-game to add to Cassidy's amazing history.
  15. Heres a modders resource to start with, I'd back up the idea as well I figure it'd just need a script to keep NPCs from going hostile since its used like a weapon, and a script to heal them based on your characters medicine skill. Use Stimpacks On Others Model -- Modders Resource
  16. Found an armor you'd like for this idea, its Fallout 3 though Modest Knights Armor -- Fallout 3
  17. Fantastic, Glad to have you, If you can please upload a clip of yourself doing what you think the A.I would be, and one with cassidy as well just in case, Cassidy is supposed to have a deep tough voice, think like an old guy mixed with a club bouncer or something..
  18. Actually all three of those are new ideas, so you got 3/3 my friend. I'll expand on them right away to fit the format of the thread. Veterinarian Medicene, Survival, and Perhaps at times you'll need to sneak. Snuffles was only the beginning of your job, You are given missions from towns to find, heal, and capture important animals for the settlement. At times you may find youself trying to safely tranquilize an angry bighorner in order to perform medical assistance, and other times you may find that "pet" is a very general term in the Wasteland. (Perhaps you find a legion guy has a hurt "pet" slave. "Pet" deathclaws) Orphanage Owner Karma, Speech, Barter? Similar to a slave trader... Kidding, You can come into semi-ownership of a structure known as an "Or-fan-age" from pre-war times, the current owner is a good soul but not the brightest. This could introduce interesting ideas into the game, it could be taken in a Bioshock direction with creepy children, to selling them to the legion, or finding families to take in children as you travel the wastes. Perhaps even a companion can show up in the form of an older orphan who will mirror your character as much as possible (You wear legion armor, then they'll wear some, if you tend to use plasma weapons then they'll specialize in energy weapons, etc.) School Professor Any and all skills. You are given a chance to influence young minds for a time, this could be in a rebuilt school in Goodsprings, the Boomer School, or perhaps the courier establishes schools in settlements in different ways. At each school your given a certain number of students and your given a choice to teach them about different skills of yours (Guns, Survival, Sneak, Repair, etc.) and depending on what you teach will influence the behaviors and appearance of the kids, as well as reputation with that faction (If you try to teach boomers about melee weapons, then you'll be disliked since they only love explosives and guns.) Also the kids will ask random questions which can have different effects depending on your answer...(As a funny example...."Teacher, Why do people kill each other?....One answer the player may take is "Because everyone hates you.....[kid crys], sit down and shut up brat!") Oh so horrible yet funny.
  19. Hey Crossfire, If your not working on any big projects then perhaps you'd like to collaborate with us on S.E.R again. The current team is me, Scallywag38, and a new volunteer named DLC124 who might do the scripting.
  20. I know, Your mod is awesome, I use it with nVamp and I love enslaving bad guys and making them fight thier own faction. C'mon Sagittarius22 I bet you have a cool job idea let us hear it!
  21. Ha! Great minds think alike, I was just about to make a similar topic, I'll add in my ideas shortly, Simply wanted to post first and say way to go.
  22. If you want to provide examples here is a page with every single dialogue file from Fallout 2, perhaps you can find some of the original comments, or edit them to fit New Vegas http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fallout_2_dialogue_files
  23. As an extra notice here we'd still love to have another modder member to lighten our workload, Currently ScallyWag is working on interiors, CrossFireX will likely work on finding custom armors and items that we can use to better recreate encounters, as well as NPCs, and the newest volunteer DLC124 has expressed interest in helping with scripts. So while we can produce with our current team, More help is always welcome. We could use Someone who can make exterior areas well. Another NPC designer Scripters are like gold to us at S.E.R Eventually we will need voice actors once we've completed the base mod so not for awhile. We don't really need texturers and modelers but If you are one and would like to help then there are some thingss we'd like to have made, but right now they're like luxuries we can't affored.
  24. Message me when you can if your still interested in the Special Encounters mod
  25. Good news Everyone, S.E.R will begin production again shortly thanks to 2 members returning as well as modders showing interest in my other mods connected to S.E.R we will begin work again soon since the most prolific member of the S.E.R team has returned. ScallyWag. Also I hope to contact CrossfireX as well. And to any readers if you'd like to offer to make an encounter from the encounter list (Just look at some of my earlier posts) that you like then please post or contact me and I'll tell you the basic limits we have to follow so that each encounter is unique and mysterious. Glad to be back on S.E.R everybody, please show your support with ideas, constructive critisism, and of course you can help us create encounters, areas, custom items or textures, or help design NPCs. Later on we will begin to develop new custom user-suggested encounters after we do the originals first as a base mod. Actually I've layed out some ideas of several different ways random encounters could be developed after the base mod is completed. Random Combat Encounters, Much like Final Fantasy and other RPGs where you randomly are attacked while walking, we;d set it up that your teleported to random generic battlefields with enemies, (both based on your location) This could make new challenges to Veteren players, by having these custom areas with cover, traps, perhaps even a small percentage of challenging boss' and things. User-Suggested Encounters, I can imagine this would be very large, it would be an add-on to the originals and contain the most popular and funny encounters for players to experience. Random Generic Areas to explore, Djmysto (creator of AWOP) mentioned he likes this idea so eventually we may work together to create generic areas to sneak around, and we'd have small generic quests like leading a patrol of troops from your perfered factions, quests on finding random objects while fighting your way through the dungeon/building. Cameos from Fallout 3, An idea suggested by a few users, like meeting Uncle Leo again, meeting Harold again (They suggested that eventually his whole body would be able to move through the trees so he could travael in a sense), Seeing Sarah Lyon or outcasts, etc As an extra notice here we'd still love to have another modder member to lighten our workload, Currently ScallyWag is working on interiors, CrossFireX will likely work on finding custom armors and items that we can use to better recreate encounters, as well as NPCs, and the newest volunteer DLC124 has expressed interest in helping with scripts.
