  1. It always happens in the final days leading up to the first release date - No one knows why, or if it is actually a bug. You know the European release date for New Vegas, so it doesn't change anything.
  2. There is a search function on the forums... Yes, Fallout: New Vegas will require Steam as it uses Steamworks to activate (after which you can choose to go in to offline mode if you so wished) and play the game. Steam is a digital distribution platform created by Valve whom are otherwise known for their famous games such as Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Half Life, Half Life 2, Portal, Teamfortress 2, etc... It's a good system.
  3. The majority of games which are not specifically made with steamworks will have retail executables that can be downloaded to patch the game from the games site, the majority allow you to specify the location for where the game is installed if they don't auto-detect it correctly. As for games which use steamworks (such as New Vegas), you would have to physically copy the "steam/steamapps/fallout new vegas" and paste it in to your install and say yes to any requests to overwrite files.
  4. The release date for Japan/Asia has always been 2 - 4th of November... The release dates won't change now at all given the game has been given "gold" status. lol
  5. You won't be able to play the game on your home PC as Steam must be able to connect to the internet at least once to be able to go in to offline mode... You can manually patch games, yes.
  6. Even if it was an expansion pack, it would rely on Fallout 3 being installed. Lol.

  8. @tehoneandonly; Do NOT misinform people, Steam does NOT have issues with modifications to the game. You can modify any game on Steam just as if it were a retail copy - II have yet to see a single game that goes against this statement. As Fallout: New Vegas uses steamworks even if you buy it in retail you will still need to register and activate it on Steam, meaning it would would still have the exact same data as a copy someone would have purchased on Steam so your point is irrelevant.
  9. Steam allows you to modify *any* game you have on it, just like the retail version. Don't misinform people as you clearly don't use Steam.
  10. I have the Caravan pack as I pre-ordered it on Steam because Steam was the first platform to release it for pre-order. I intended to cancel it and pre-order the collectors edition when it was available for pre-order at Game, however unfortuently due to financial reasons I can't do so. Still, not really as if the pre-order packs matter given that you can get the content via modding the game or cheats.
  11. No, it states that it is a "Games for Windows" game. There's a difference between that classification and "Games for Windows Live". If you go to the main website and read the dev blogs you will find out everything you need, you will also find it all out on the Wikipedia page.
  12. Even if your pre-order came you wouldn't be able to activate it and play it till tomorrow because Steam is awesome like that (or say the 22nd, next Friday, for Europe). D=
  13. http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/596/desktopjw.png My fairly clean desktop at 1680 x 1050. Thankfully it's not cluttered (yet) D=
  14. Morally it is legal, however unless the NoCD modification is provided by the developer/publisher for users whom are experiencing these specific problems (unlikely) then it is illegal as the EULA of 99% of games states you may not modify the core contents such as exe's without written permission (to put it simply), as you possess the modified content you are as such liable I believe.
  15. Yeah, thanks for pointing this out. I saw no news item pop-up for it. =D
  16. It installs several random third-party programs which I haven't a clue what are for, as you as the user have specifically given SRL permission to do as it pleases most programs don't pick it up. However fortuently ESET's Smart Security suite does.
  17. The minimum requirements for New Vegas are the same as Fallout 3's I believe, the only difference graphically is higher-res textures and models for people playing on higher settings. CPU: Dual Core, 2.0GHz RAM: 2GB HDD: 10GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6000 series or ATI XT1300 series... But to be honest I wouldn't recommend trying to play modern games on a laptop, additionally System Requirements Lab is a load of rubbish and actually installs spyware in addition to its 'tool'.
  18. If you want to use it, I'd advise putting uBuntu on it. Though really that PC is far too outdated to prove useful.
  19. That can sometimes occur, right-click your desktop and click 'refresh' it should regenerate the icons.
  20. Windows 7's search feature works fine for most ORGANISED people, lol. However if you have a large number of files (and have correctly updated the indexes (Indexing Options aswell as Folder Option's Searches tab in Control Panel)) then you can use the below guide to understand about using advanced parameters in searches for files. http://www.windows7news.com/2009/06/30/finding-files-faster-with-windows-7-search/ Unfortuently, Windows 7 doesn't have an extended search feature like XP as it's not needed (at least not one that I am aware of), it's just a matter of configuring the quick-search feature to more ideally suit your needs.. There most likely is a program out there somewhere that'll hlep you however.
  21. The idea given with Fallout 3 is that you explore the wasteland and don't just stick with the main storyline. Personally I was forced in to exploration on my first playthrough as I killed Moriarty at his bar because he wouldn't give me the information I wanted, lol. As for walking animations, yes it does seem like he glides when walking diagonally. D=
  22. More info on the exact issue is needed as from the information you have given it could be a number of issues. For example, has this issue just recently started occuring or have you purchased the PC 'new'?
  23. We understand, you like Lego but if you are going to go on about this Lego Universe nonsense please keep it in one thread please? This is like the 4th thread you've made about it.
  24. You shouldn't of created a new thread for this matter. Clutters things... However, if the item ID's are not provided with the mod or in the 'readme' file then you'll have to use the GECK to find out each items ID. ;D
