  1. OSR ini is in obse plugins. breplace heap=1 then set heap amount in heap settings. some of you crashes could be corrupted spawns, try this open console type...coc center wait for 4 days and nights savegame type...saveini use map to get back to where you were previously.
  2. Ps, you do not need streamline and the two cell purge esps at the same time. If your pc is as good as the spec suggests you really do not need streamline, get rid of it and the two other purge esps and use memory purger extended which is a newish mod on this site. The spell delete and item remover i have not seen before and i am wondering if this could possibly corrupt your saves. Maybe someone else will know the answer to that Good luck.
  3. Hi, did you do a complete reinstall on this machine, reason i ask is you cant really swap the oblivion ini from one pc to another without problems, you have a lot of enhancement mods, if you have a 64 bit machine i would be inclined to install the 4gb patch from nt core web sit and run the oblivion stutter reducer with the heap setting at about 500 or upwards, i use 1000. the issue you get with oblivion is the fact it will crash when the vram exceeds 1.8 gig, but you get round this by patching the oblivion.exe file. ( not the obse.exe file). Works for me, imwas getting crashes during fast travel and opening doors. I would be interested to know exactly when your game crashes.
  4. is your rig a 64 bit system? the patch needs it to be I believe. try moving your bashed patch to the bottom of the load order and re bash the patch or set the load order with BOSS and rebash. if that fails, back up and delete the ini file in documents/games/oblivion folder. a new one based on your system will be created on start up, you will have to reset the bborders enabled text if you have any land expansion mods. never delete the default ini in the oblivion folde.r
  5. its because you dont have textures set to high in your in game options.
  6. Sounds like the old area effect bug. There is an option in the unofficial patch to fix this . You usually hear the booming noise when an enemy is in your vicinity.
  7. I use heap settings at 1200, eliminated stutter, fast travel ctds and door transition crashes, but I stress that I have a 64 bit system with the 4 gig patch...the heap settings and the patch compliment each other. If you are getting stuttering it is because the GPU cannot either handle all the texture information and stalls until the cell data is purged or it cannot transfer the data quick enough causing a bottleneck in data flow (stutter) Some of the newer cards on the market have bigger graphics memories, but that is a complete waste of time if you cannot transfer it through the GPU/motherboard bus quick enough..if you replace a GPU look for minimum of 2 gig graphic memory and a bus width of 880 mb and upwards. nvidia are moving into the 1028/2024 bus width area and this really does speed up the fps. Think of a bath full of water with the taps running full on and the water as the textures stored on your card, the bigger the drainhole the quicker the water will pass through it allowing space for new water to replace it.
  8. dead right, othewise manufactures would not be making a fortune out of laptop riser/coolers. Few laptops are designed for high end gaming, and modding games out to the max takes the spec requirements way above ordinary laptops.....unmodded oblivion, about 4.5 gig...fully modded oblivion...(on my system) 120 gig, skyrim 80 gig, morrowind 30 gig. manufacturers simply do not take the modded equation into designing games or systems.
  9. you can clean the save with wrye bash but it sounds like you have a corrupted save path that is a save that spawns corruption in every successive save. it can be caused by the game engines save on wait, save on travel etc. only use saves you generate yourself. also make sure this line in your ini reads as such... bsaveonexteriorswitch=0
  10. With respect, not the best card fo oblivion. When i used a laptop for the game it did not like being placed on on a surface like a carpet, had to put it on a cooler/riser or it would just overheat and turn off. Other than that i cant really say more.
  11. if you are disabling mods, unticking them will not disable them unless you re-bash your patch afterwards.
  12. hmm, could possibly be a codec problem, if you have overridden the original windows codecs with possibly substandard ones from another programme it could feasibly slow the player up although I would have thought that the music would not play at all. check that the music files are correctly named i.e Battle_01mp3 I have found though that you can basically put any named track in the music folders as long as it is mp3. The game will always play track 01 first and so on, if you wanted a particluar track to play next it must be named 02 or even 01a. The game will play any other tracks after the numerical tags alphabetically. Have you tried navigating to data/music/battle or whatever and playing them in sequence in media player? if you still got the problem then you would know it is not the game causing it.
  13. it may be a spawn problem, try this bring up the console type coc center wait for 4 days and nights type saveini close console save game bring up map and try re - entering vindasel. if that does not work i suspect a corrupted save game. try loading an earlier save as near to the beggining of the saves you have made and see what happens. If it still happens, try unticking your mods one by one until you find the culprit. I usually untick alpabetically to narrow it down (all mods beggining with a, reset them, then b and so on.)
  14. It would be interesting and helpful if you could post your specs, especially the PSU and The Graphics card. I to suspect a heat problem, maybe you have overclocked your GPU? or are runing any specific high rez texture mods? Normally if the GPU overheats, the screen will go black but the pc will stay booted. If you get a blue screen and the pc actually completely shuts down then I suspect the system is doing a safe shutdown, normally caused by corrupted registry files. This would happen instantly. Another possibility is the PSU failing, not uncommon...does your PSU fan stay on for long periods? likewise with the GPU fan? I cant recall any game that demands so much from a system as oblivion with its open world graphics and potential for being modded out to the max. It may be nescessary to completely reinstall the game to preclude the possibility of malware residing inside the game engine, if as you say it only happens with oblivion. unlikely but when you have proved the hardware is ok then that is the step I would take.
  15. It could be where you installed it, also check that you do not have some third party media player staring up whenever it feels it has priority over the game engine. You might set mp3 files so that they "always use this programme to play this type of file" in properties of the player you prefer. I am not sure but i think the engine uses the default windows media player. I
  16. to be honest looking at that mod list I dont think it is an AI problem but here you go just in case... http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/8158 it works well for me.
  17. Could be an overload of the AI, this can happen due to too many mods with there own agenda, there is a certain mod which crippled my game until i removed it ( balloon mod) There is a mod on here that expands the AI according to how many npcs are on screen. The other alternative is that there is a animation missing or overwritten. Maybe if you post your mod list i will have a look for you.
  18. Try deleing the ini file from documents/games/oblivion it will reinstall on launching the game.backit up first to a different folder. Never delete the original ini file from the oblivion folder. If this fails, you may have a missing dependancie or even a esm file missing. Quite often removing mods will affect the ini and iit will not launch the game. I will have a look at your load order when i get time but try the above. Good luck and come back with any results please. Edit .......had a quick look, you don't need natural weather esps if you have all natural installed. It probably would not stop the game launching but is occupying a couple of slots you may need later on as you install more mods. i see obse drop lit torches, make sure obse is installed properly as that on its own can stiop a launch, also if younuse obse make sure you use the obse.launcher not the game one.
  19. much better now, walking about and full use of my limbs...i know how those zombies feel.
  20. no point in having high rez normals. best set at half resolution to your main texture. bump mapping them can give an illusion of more depth. The bigger the normal map, the bigger the strain on your graphics card.
  21. Got the feeling back in my right arm, left one still useless...left eye hazy but i can see thru it now. At least i can get back on my rig for a while. Mods unhidden.

What? What happened to you!? I wish you all the best! Get well soon!

2 days ago I already wondered about the hidden Imperial Ecology. Endoril plans to come back to Oblivion and asked for some nice new mods he missed during his absence.

I wanted to send him the link but your mod was hidden. I had no clue why... but now I know. :/

thanks for your thoughts tob, I have a variant of ms which has plagued me for a few years. normally i can manage it with rest and medication. this time it hit me hard and my left side of my body was messed up along with my vision which has returned in my right eye although the left one is hazy. It wont improve long term but I am told i will hopefully regain full functionality in a couple of weeks. my right arm is fine so i can now type again! I hid my mods because i could not handle any q...

Oh my. I dunno what to say. That sounds really awful. I am sorry for it. (I know my sympathy doesn't make you healthy again)

The more I wish you all the best and that you will regain full functionality!

  22. First off all, i do not see a bashed patch. Wrye bash is essential with the amount of mods you have especially the mmm ones. The crashing is probably down to the amount of graphics ram trying to flow through your gpu. Oblivion is restrictive on the amount it can handle, you can patch the exe with the 4 gb patch but i think it only applies to 64 bit systems. I use it with oblivion stutter remover and set the heap at 1000. This stopped the ctds i was having just like you. Also streamline has a very good cell buffer purge utility or you can console and type "pcb" as a temporary fix. I forgot to mention that weye bash will tell you if you have any load order problems where dependencies are concerned. Not all mods are in boss data base. Good luck
  23. flat on my back for 4 weeks now but getting better even managed to load skyrim for a while..
