  1. In response to post #62603751. Same here. I only just bought SSE the other day(50% off sale) & Those were the very first 2 mods I downloaded & installed. Then I looked in Top Files/Bug Fix category. I played Oldrim only a little bit years ago and most of what I remember were the bugs. Wasn't as into modding as now, so I think I may not have even used Unofficial Patch back then.
  2. Just wanted to say Thanks to Arthmoor! It's largely thanks to you and your Unofficial Patch Team that we can enjoy a professional level & relatively bug free experience in-game for Skyrim & Fallout 4!
  3. What are some Skyrim Special Edition mods you consider 100% completely essential? That after you've installed and tried it out, you can't imagine playing without the mod anymore? Alternatively, are there any modlists that you consider the definitive A to Z mod guide for SSE? For a Fallout 4 comparison(Since that's what I'm more familiar with), I consider BiRaitBec Modlist to basically be a definitive A to Z Fallout 4 player's modding guide as like 90% of my Fallout 4 install matches up with it and I've followed the texture optimizations. I basically just skipped out on anything to do with Survival mode stuff and Scrapping. -I've gotten some really fantastic info in this topic. So I will edit into the opening post a Quick list of finds brought up so far, that may not be found in Top Files so that this can be helpful to anyone who checks the topic: -For those who want to retexture basically everything possible in the game the first stop is of course going through Top Files, for probably about the top 120 or so. Then the listed mods in this post for newer/possibly flying under the radar stuff. For even more, this Some solid gold information, thanks so much! I think this is fantastic info for players like me who are used to tricked out Fallout 4. It'll help us be better able to get into the game, which is great since Skyrim seems to remain quite active to this day so it alongside Fallout 4 can be reliable go-to games or mainstays for years to come. (Note: Edited quote contents to correct T4GTR34UM3R's username in order to give it correct spelling for general ease of searching. And hyperlinks for easiest access) Really good guide suggestion: Tech's Skyrim Special Edition Guidev2 The others I didn't list yet: - Overhaul suggestions by QuagaarWarrior: -Suggestions by Mercury71:
  4. Would definitely be interesting to see. From what I heard, it seems like almost everything from Oldrim has been ported. If you could make a list of missing mods that would be really helpful. I don't really know much for Skyrim modding. I played Oldrim for like 80 hours in 2012, I only beat the MQ, guilds, DLC quests and that's it. I hardly modded anything. Just bought SSE yesterday so coming back from 6 year absence. I got into Fallout 4 and that has ended up renewed my interest in Skyrim.
  5. I second this. Am coming back to Skyrim at some point after having bought SSE after having not played oldrim for about 6 years. So I'm extremely out of the loop on SSE, or Skyrim modding in general.
  6. I'm curious which game studio is criticized in Outlaws and Revolutionaries - Quest Mod Plus? There are a few that I really do hate so this might be a big plus, might be perfect humor for me. I'm sick of a lot of devs besides Bethesda, CD Projekt RED, Nintendo. Downloaded it but might make it a priority to check it out. Just bought SSE yesterday on impulse after seeing it on Steam Sale so everything is new still. I've thought about lampooning stuff like EA, Bioware, Activision, current Square Enix / Final Fantasy, etc. I hate laziness, over-commercialization, cynicism on part of devs/publishers. I feel that so many of them have entirely forgotten that games are supposed to be fun.
  7. This 100%. Money shouldn't be involved, at all. IIRC commissioned works are against the terms of use for the Creation Kit and the game itself, it specifies that commercial use isn't permitted. Voice acting, I don't know but I assume it's usually volunteers. I guess you could find up & coming people who are hoping to break in as professional VAs. Doing voice work for a major mod can potentially give them something to show off to companies. If they happen to VA for a famous mod that could help them in seeking a dubbed anime role which is where most probably start as pros, from there if they stand out they can get game roles. They're very hard to find and I imagine you'll need something extremely impressive. If your mod becomes famous it might be a (very)small possibility. Atomic Radio - Tales of the Commonwealth had the one guy who did VA for ghouls. But I am pretty sure that's the most famous Fallout 4 quest mod next to Fusion City Rising and to my knowledge this is the only mod out there featuring voice work from one of the actual game VAs, possibly for any Bethesda game. I am guessing he volunteered, since typically the contracts they sign would prohibit them from playing their roles in an official capacity anywhere else. At any rate, VA is a distant future kind of concern and a big time maybe. First you'd need to create an epic mod that gets popular enough to reach like 10,000 Endorsements, possibly more since IIRC Skyrim remains quite a bit more popular for modding than Fallout 4. Popular enough that it gets featured on the Youtube channels and stuff.
  8. This topic is kind of interesting to me. I think I had same kind of crash on old PC, from the looks of it it's possibly exactly the same. But I didn't know if it could have been due to simply having underpowered specs, so I never asked for help. I have newer PC now but haven't really played Oblivion yet on it, only tried a few times. They seem to be working correctly for me, unless there's some kind of spam or redirects or something going on from the website. I wouldn't know because my browser adblocks close to everything and automatically denies most scripts. Info on the site seems to be good from what I can tell, because for instance Pluggy is known to be problematic. Haven't looked a whole lot yet but so far there has not been any information that has come up yet on that site that I know to be false. Judging from the specs you could be experiencing the same crash as I did when I tried running Oblivion a few times on GTX 1080. Game will crash if there's no FPS limiter set, unlike the newer games there is no FPS cap so it'll go extremely high. My Nvidia share showed FPS counts in the thousands though it could have been bugging out. On my current PC I can only be in game like 10-15 seconds before crashing unless I set a cap in Nvidia Inspector(This has to be done again every time there's a GPU driver update which seems to be weekly or so).
  9. Thanks for fast reply! Oh I see. I figured that illegal mods were definitely no goes, but I'd thought when reading that segment that it also restricts Private Mods maybe due to complaints about people who show off stuff they made but will never ever share or only private release. It used to happen a lot like many years ago but seems like it doesn't anymore or at least is rare. It did seem a little bit trolly, they'd show really cool custom race + custom hair + custom outfits/weapons but berate anyone who ask them to share. Though this is a long time ago so I hardly even remember them anymore and for all anyone knew maybe they did have some kind of permissions entanglement going on that meant they can't share. I guess they maybe did it for attention, but by now it should be obvious due to stuff like File of the Month, Youtubers, Nexus promoting some mods, etc that sharing it will lead to far more attention than showing your release ready mod and refusing to share. For me the intention to release or not would be dependent on the quality it can achieve. If I think most people will think that it sucks then I won't release till it can get better, if it can get better. Hopefully it can semi approach the stuff we see in Hot Files on Fallout 4 Nexus though that's a tough standard to reach as many of the top modders surpass some of the game industry professionals. I've gotten the basic workflow down to get something made & exported through 3DS Max, some kind of texture attached to it and putting it into the game but real professional quality is something that'll take much longer. I will have to set out without knowing factually whether or not I can achieve a professional's level of quality and also without factual knowledge if certain desired features are possible or not. I might potentially make a mod private if and probably only if it seemed to me that the community react pretty negatively towards it. I like anime stuff and I've seen over the years how some react quite negatively towards it. However I'd prefer to share things and I think the staff aren't likely to allow hate brigades to happen. Especially since anime content can be filtered out easily by user settings. But if you're unclear about the exact meaning of a rule, it's always best you ask one of the CMs about it instead. Is CM = Community Manager? And it would be preferable for me to direct message a CM rather than ask here? Would that be a better "When in doubt" course of action? Who is good to ask? I always feel like it might be a bother, as they're probably super busy.
  10. I viewed some images that looked like maybe private mods but in actuality are WIPs. It got me wondering, what would happen if I started creating an armor and showed WIP images but for whatever reason the release never happened? Like let's say I hit technical issues or I never become happy with my outfit or I simply got bored of working on it. Showing private mods in image share is against the rules but what if a file was originally intended to release at some point but then "things" happen making the release cancelled or on indefinite hold? Or what if the WIP just takes an extremely long time or if I worked off & on, like as would be likely to happen if I started out on one as I tend to go at a slow pace and do jump around a lot? Like hypothetically what if I worked off & on, on an outfit for a year? I could see quality issues putting things in limbo, as admittedly the standards on the Nexus set by many of the popular mods are extremely high so it isn't completely unfathomable to work on an outfit for many months or even a year and I probably would upload screenshots over time so I could get feedback to hopefully improve with. IMO, getting considered as having decent quality pretty much means reaching nearly professional standards and with the top modders actually surpassing that. So if I began work on an outfit I could foresee uploading images periodically over a long period of time, for purpose of getting feedback. Though I would state in the description that my mods are basically always on "Valve Time", meaning "Release Date: When it's done" or possibly never. Image title would contain "WIP". It has to reach a certain standard for me to ever upload it, and if that never happens then a release won't happen. Admittedly it isn't something directly relevant to me right now, but as a long time member I do try to ensure I know everything I can about the rules and if I flat out don't know I come here to ask about it. I do want to make an outfit but can't ever seem to make up my mind on what to make.
  11. I managed to get a temp fix by deleting these lines in my Preset's JSON file using Notepad++: But I cannot change face parts without reintroducing the bug. Changing nose from Prominent 1 to Prominent 2 reintroduces it, as does changing type on face from Weathered to Smooth/etc.
  12. Have been getting a weird bug with part of the mouth stretching way out. I used TFC cam to partially clip the view through the face and confirmed it's the end of the mouth on the one side stretching way out. It normally isn't quite that bad but for this image I edited face to really highlight it since it's a really weird issue. TBH wasn't sure whether to post here or Technical Support as I don't know if it's mod related or not. Posted it here since I have LooksMenu.
  13. That's interesting. I've never heard of Cinema4D yet. Why do you like that particular program? I'm always interested to learn more about programs as I think a big part of the matter is finding programs that fit us as users. I hate Photoshop for instance but am exploring the possibility that I could get into texturing through other methods involving different programs.
  14. I've been around for close to 10 years but only this May did I upload my first files. His posts are what got me curious about this & got me to look it up in the Terms & Policies, about what if a user who did not do anything wrong got file blocked. But I re-read that topic and WastelandAssassin had a perfect answer that I consider to perfectly resolve the question I had(Is it okay if I follow up due to having found the answer?): "Well , I've never personally heard of any mod author abusing this system doesn't mean it's not possible , but I've never heard of such a case but in case you believe someone may be abusing the system , this is something you can bring before the staff there are plenty of report functions (you can report the mod author , report via the mod in which it occurred etc) , through which we can investigate and take whatever actions we deem necessary in the specific case yes there could be a case where users abuse the blocking system in such a case , you should report them to the staff , so that we can take a look and take whatever action we deem fitting and in your case where you can no longer get in contact with the author , you can ask the staff to mediate for you (I would gladly send a PM on your behalf , if I felt it was appropriate)" Thanks WastelandAssassin!
  15. What kinds of mods can be made for it? What kind of modding support? If there's a level editor interface like the Creation Kit(Though of course CK does ton of other things too!) I might consider getting the N. Sane Trilogy to try it out.
  16. I see thanks. I must have missed that in the topic, will check through again. Actually your post earlier that you had been file blocked is what got me curious about "what if somebody got blocked but did nothing wrong?"(Unless I am mistaken and you are just referencing from memory what it says from another case or I'd misinterpreted) I totally 100% understand trolls & flamers getting blocked but IMO it kind of sucks if a positive contributing member gets file blocked without any reason.
  17. I noticed that we can see a list of who have endorsed a file. Can we also see list of who all have downloaded a file, or can the Author do so perhaps via the Statistics Tab? I'm new as a mod author so I don't really know a lot about these things. What if they used the forum's Ignore feature to Ignore a particular user, does that also institute a file block on their files against that user? People said the "you have been file blocked" notice says not to contact anyone about it, but what if it wasn't for any real reason?
  18. A kind of random question occurred to me today, about File Blocking. This doesn't pertain to anything that has actually happened but a topic I read got me generally curious about it as I try to be knowledgeable about the site rules and I didn't really know how stuff works with file blocking. Technically speaking, is there such a thing as misuse of the file blocking system? Anything a user could do if they had actually gotten blocked for literally nothing? Not a case where a user's downplaying or misrepresenting the situation but for literally nothing like the author simply had a bad mood or dislikes their avatar or name? Like let's say hypothetically all I did was say "Thank you for your contribution, <Mod Author>. I really like your mod!" and got blocked for it or I politely make a simple request and got blocked for it. Or worst case I never commented at all and got blocked anyways(IDK how this works?)? Or if hypothetically I look in the comments section of a file, someone commented "I love your mod!" and author replied with "Blocked." should I report that? Would it be considered abuse of the feature if a user has never ever made any toxic or rude post ever yet got file blocked? The topic got me curious so I checked in the Terms & Policies, did not find anything about this. My understanding after finding it not present is that it would be fair game to do so?

  20. Saying negative toxic things to mod authors only takes away from the community as it can take away their motivation to create and detracts from the positive atmosphere that allows for the free sharing of constructive feedback and positive ideas for improvement. It's a net negative so I don't support it. This is the truth right here. I am not at all interested in hearing from a user who cannot refrain from using profanity in what should be simple and professional communication. Plus obvious toxicity in the comments will detract from productive discussion by making others less likely to post with what could be very helpful and informative feedback. If there were profanities all over the place in the comment threads on my mods I strongly suspect that the people who gave helpful feedback to me may have decided against commenting at all in the first place, end result would be the mod would be worse as I wouldn't have fixed issues users brought to my attention and wouldn't have gotten cool ideas to think about for a possible update. When I see a mod's comment section is toxic(Thankfully pretty rare on Nexus) I am far less likely to comment, nearly always I'll just move on without any comments as it feels as though nothing good could come of it were I to participate. Authors can clean comments but this takes time, we're not here watching the comments 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I am looking for growth as a modder so constructive feedback is important to me. I'm beginning to learn texturing so it will be even more important in order to learn the complex skill set involved with that, especially since the bar is set so high by the fantastic works shared by the talented authors here! At the end of the day it is right there clearly in the Terms & Policies that we all agreed to as part of being a member of this site, that we are required to refrain from the usage of profanities. Nudity is irrelevant because there is the Adult Mods filter. If the topic creator is bothered by such mods he is free to turn on the filter to no longer see Adult mods. No. Nothing about this post specifically on its own is humorous. Agreed. I would only follow through with a request if I personally believed in it, also desired it and had available free time that it'd be feasible for me to do. AKA if it's a good and constructive idea. When we request something of an author it's asking them to give up free time for us, meaning it's really unlikely they'll want to do so unless it's something they also wanted. For me it's most likely to happen if it's something I'm kind of on the fence about doing but got a lot of requests for. Same here. I cannot see how calling the author that was legitimately necessary or in any way constructive. Indeed. I think it's a win for everyone because talented authors like you can spend more time modding and less time wasted getting trolled. So long as users don't get blocked for literally no reason at all, like if they'd never even commented at all or they only said "Thank you for the mod!" only to get blocked.
  21. This guy is incredible, maybe he could be the one to create the next big Australian game dev? Don't know how I've missed this mod all these years. "Story like Inception" is none other than exactly my kind of thing! Now I regret not watching the PC conference at E3(I'd only tuned in for Bethesda & Nintendo).
  22. Same here! SotC will help show what Fallout 76 will be missing by not having human NPCs! And a hypothetical "SoWV" would be the foundation of actually populating 76's West Virginia with NPCs. What a big task that would be, creating NPCs to populate a wasteland that originally has none!
  23. I send them away or lead them outside the boundary and use TAI to freeze them. Usually I just send them to a location that's just for all the companions
  24. Seems like he maybe is trolling because Bethesda would be foolish to try tricking players like that. Steam will side with the player and give a refund, also they keep the publisher's cut of the sale so it actually costs publisher money if players refund. They'll lose out big time if they pulled a ridiculous stunt as I figure the majority of people who wanted mods would mass refund. Going by Nexus' membership counts I assume the majority of people who play Bethesda games on the PC are into the modding meaning this is no small group of people but probably a few million players or more. Bethesda would regret it if they tried burning all of the PC players like this and we all mass refunded the game.
  25. Yeah seems like the only way to go. I might see if there could be preorder option where I can freely choose to cancel at any time and don't have to pay upfront, only pay when game ships. So I could play the beta but IDK I might just say whatever and stay completely out of it till private servers with mod support are literally here and Nexus has a 76 Nexus with amazing stuff like maybe a Sim Settlements 76 edition. Probably seeing an SS76 is what'd get me to fully buy in and be on board with the whole idea. Though Bethesda's whole "Rebuild the wasteland Together" tagline seemed to scream out modding imo. I don't see what else they could mean than our fantastic modders rebuilding the wasteland with NPCs, quests, awesome stuff to build with, etc.
