I guess this is where a good gaming mouse with all the bells and whistles on it finally comes in handy.

Wait a minute, another brain fart. I just remembered that in Oblivion we could cast spells while holding a weapon and shield. I might be wrong, but In the demo for Skyrim i think i only ever saw him cast with an empty hand. I suppose this adds some quasi-realism to casting, (wait realism... casting?) but I hope this isnt the case. Like I said before if I can bind the keys/mouse in away that allows me to play Skyrim as i did Oblivion I may just for go the dual wielding feature, but then again it may be to awesome to ignore.

theory or not, there sure is some awesome mod potential here.

I grew up with an old macplus in the 80's and used the num pad on most games, might have to crack my knuckles and revert.

good point, there were way to many hour glasses, calipers and spools of yarn in oblivion. it'd be kinda cool to concoct a poison out of a dead rat and some rotten meat, or a weapon out of discarded broken tools and scrap pieces of metal, or even clothing from old dirty rags.

That's a wild layout bro, I applaud your creativity. I suppose if you're used to binding the "attack" action to a key instead of the mouse you should be able to familiarize yourself a little easier than us left clickers

I think as long as there are no duel wielding required tasks "insert imagination here" I'll probably just ignore the feature all together and use right click to block.

This dual wielding feature is giving me a minor brain cramp. I can see how this feature will be more console friendly. With gamepads/controllers the right trigger has become more or less the default "fire"/"use weapon" button in most first person perspective games. So with consoles and controllers right will remain right... right? Now over to the pc and the mouse, we've all been left clicking to "fire"/"use weapon" our entire lives, so with dual wielding now we're supposed to right click when we want to attack? This is where I start to get brain farts. I know it's a minor issue at best with a customizable conrtol scheme, but I was just curious how you guys are going to be addressing this. As for myself, my keyboard layouts in FO3 and Oblivion were very similar to one another and I'll probably be translating that scheme over skyrim as best i can.

Films: Conan The Barbarian - ofcourse Pathfinder - it sucks, i know The Beastmaster - why not Games: Rune: Viking warlord - If you haven't played this game you need to, you'll probably notice a few things skyrim has borrowed. TESIV Oblivion: - If only to remember your preferred key layout. Music: Not sure on this one but in Skyrim there are Nords which is Nordic which is Norwegian which is Black Metal which is Burzum

playing female characters in games really just ruins the game experience for me, mainly because if the charater model is "detailed" enough and there just happens to be a free moving camera, well... i get distracted;)

FO3 and Oblivion both had built in frame caps of 60. To exceed you had edit the ".ini" file and turn off the games built in vsync. Afterwards with some tweeking of your gpu settings you could get in the 95-105 range, BUT (and this is a big BUT)... Why? 60fps is fast enough, I maxed out FO3 and Oblivion and was more than happy cruising at 60fps. If Bethesda did it for their previous titles they'll probably do it for Skyrim. My personal opinion, anything beyond what the developer intends and/or "caps" and you're bound to run into problems. In other words "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Quick question: If you are playing on the ps3 or xbox and not on pc, then why are you on a well known modding site?

Not tryin to start a gpu war but it's been said a few times before that ATI's seem to have fewer issues with bethesda titles. They all seemed to own Oblivion and FO3. I would suggest the HD 5870, any drawbacks compared to any of the 6000 series are minuscule to nonexistent. The 5870 even out performs the 6870 and 6950 in AF and AA.
