  1. Might be a special move. My hunch is that it's weapon specific, you can only use that particular weapon that way. but then again i could be wrong.
  2. "It's a go for preload, just isn't available yet." - Pete Hines - http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/133732313329700865 well that's good... now we just gotta hope our Steam accounts weren't hijacked yesterday... http://www.1up.com/news/steam-forums-down-after-hack
  3. Go with the first option. It depends on you build of windows 32bit or 64bit, 32 can't recognize anything over 3.2GB, but regardless of that, in my opinion single=stable so i'd go 1 x 8, we're a long way off from using 12GB practically, come to think of it we've barley touched 8 if at all.
  4. not really, having 8GB isn't any different than having 2.5GB when the game only requires 2GB. Not many games have actually utilized the quad cores, this game might, if so it could help you out. With your CPU and GPU you should be able to play flawless on Medium and probably just as good on High with AA & AF turned off So Xbox graphics? It's really down to using my Xbox or my computer, obviously the computer always has mods but if it will look better on the Xbox I want that version. If I we're you I'd go xbox. I was in the exact same boat when fallout 3 came out. My computer was ok, but I knew I would have to sacrifce some good lookin gfx. So I ended up gettin Fallout for the ps3, played the hell out of it, beat it and did just about everything there was to do. A year after buying it for the ps3 I threw down some cash on a new computer bought Fallout GOTY and did it all over again and by this time there were a ton of great mods out plus all the DLC, dont regret it a bit.
  5. Yeah, from the videos I've seen every time you gain a skill point it looks something like... UNARMED SKILL INCREASED ...which is going to drive some people insane.

  7. There's an easy sure fire fix for that - All you have to do is install Fallout directly into the main "OS (C:)" directory not in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)". Thankfully I found this out the day I installed Fallout 3, it's ran smooth a glass ever sense. It also seems to work well for most games developed for the good ol XP
  8. o_O This thread is here so can you provide your complaints or "alternative" ideas in hopes that they may be used in future mods. Your last paragraph is a pretty good example. Once you start using mods particularly from some of the folks on this site, you'll know pretty soon that they are more than capable of changing menus. The poll is relevant because it provides an idea of what percentage of players wish that something be done about it. If the majority of people vote "No" "the hud is fine the way it is" then some modders will take notice and not waste their time on a mod that no one will use. As for the Mana/Life/Stamina bars, from what I know there are only two settings to choose from in the game as is. One is called "theatrical" or something of the like, which only displays the bar that is currently under threat or being drained. The other setting simply displays all three at all times. I do agree that they look like they could be scaled down.
  9. all I can say is that it looks like there'll be a lot of scorlling, and after oblivion and fallout I fear for the life of my mouse wheel.
  10. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The relevance of this thread will begin on 11/11/11 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This more or less to help the Modders out there, so share your ideas. I've heard and read a lot of speculation and complaints about the known HUD in Skyrim not looking like it'll be as user friendly on the PC. Whether or not the PC version will incorporate a different HUD has yet to be confirmed. (let me know if I'm wrong) If it is to remain the same, based on the footage you have seen. What are some of your complaints, opinions, or wanted changes if any?
  11. my 2 cents... blocking with a shield probably reflects more damage than blocking with a sword, axe or mace, and if using 2 weapons actually inflicts more damage this would seem to even the scales. Depending on the reflect/inflict ratio, weapon and armor degeneration could balance the scales even more, but sadly we don't have that feature... yet... modders  Regardless, I may just ignore this feature if it's possible and stick to the old shield and sword. I would like to know if we'll be able to cast spells while having both hands occupied like in oblivion, even though from the all screens and videos i've seen it's not looking like it.
  12. I hope it's a little more in depth than what we can speculate.
  13. We'll if it does rain and the power just happens to go out on November 11th at 10:04pm, this will be me... http://gickr.com/results4/anim_238786fe-eef9-1984-8d49-19ae576cb44f.gif ...funny enough it was November 12th in the movie.
  14. I say (like my opinion matters now) we start a new thread about it as to stay on topic and delete this one. As you wish. -mm
  15. well not when the terms are created by the people themselves and openly refer to themselves by said title.
  16. First off the only "trolling" i know of is something I do when i'm bass fishing. Secondly that's a shame about what happend, but my intensions are consciously nothing of the sort. If I could change the title of this thread I would. I do feel that it may benefit all if modders were allowed to tag their creations under one of these obviously popular subjects/genres.
  17. I know it's driving me nutty to, my solution to burning out before you start is 2 days before the release surround yourself with things you dislike; films, music, places, people (well people is kind of pushing it) come home and mix the sigh of relief with the reward of skyrim!
  18. yeah all sorts, this world is perfect isn't it? The fact that one can't even voice the rare opposing opinion on this subject without being hounded should provide some insight into wisdom. A person who tolerates everything stands for nothing and a person who stands for nothing has no opinion. It's fine if some people choose "hate" me for voicing my opinion, they are simply voicing theirs.
  19. I know, kinda like a snowballs chance in hell.
  20. Done. I feel like I need to wash my hands now.
  21. yeah, after contemplating it for a while I think I'm going to buy on steam and pre-load this sucker. What the hell, "ride the snake"
  22. teeth, "plaque conspiracy", metallica It is a shame what they are doing to those who do not have internet access, but that extremely small, declining percentage weighed against the potential profits of their micro-merger with Steam is a loss they can more than afford, but why they don't update the box art on the retail sites or at the very least mention "Steam" under the system requirements (it is in fact a "system requirement") is beyond me. I know false advertising happens all the time and is rarely addressed, but come on! I'm still up in the air about buying a physical or digital copy although Bethesda clearly states that "some of the files may be pulled from the internet through the Steam client to complete the installation, rather than all being on the DVD." ...For us laymens that simply means that the physical copy is pretty much useless and the game probably wont even require the disc to be in the drive to play. I'll admit I've used both Steam and Direct2Drive in the past and have had no issues. They both provide great service when needed and their software can be easily ignored. So lets be realistic, as far as the theory of Steam going out of business and we're suddenly not able to play our purchased games,... well first, for that to happen Bethesda would also have to go out of business prior to Steam and that will be because of one or two things; 1.) Fallout 4 and/or The Elder Scrolls VI were complete and utter failures. 2.) The US/Global economy has collapsed. 1.) Probably wont be the case. 2.) Probably will be the case at some point and when that happens playing a stupid (but really cool) computer game will be the last thing on your mind.
  23. The elder what..? Oh, sorry i thought this was a pink floyd forum
