  1. Wouldn't it though? It'd require a redesign of nearly every single character model possible, but by Toutatis it'd be worth it. ^_^
  2. For those on the outside of both fandoms, they're close enough. They're both Japanese, and use the same "Japanese-y" style, AND they're not lore-friendly. I could ask for some mods based on the French character "Asterix The Gaul" and get the same reaction.
  3. Wow, that happened faster than I expected.
  4. "Yet". Let's stay positive. ^_^ I'm sure there's some way out there to cheat the system and get SOMETHING that will do what we want without having to invent cold fusion to do it, there's always *some* kind of work around.
  5. When I made my comment I was thinking of just altering the vanilla Skyrim stuff so it suits the FF visual theme; bolder and brighter colors, broader trim and design elements, and a generally more cartoony/anime style appearance. I can hear the lore-supporters screaming in the hills as I say that, but I think it could be done well if folks really want to. ^_^
  6. I wouldn't demand this specific file from FNV, but something that does the exact same thing, this well, would satisfy me.
  7. I was playing with a mod that added a library to Breezehome (long overdue, and it works great) and I decided that I also want a place to display some of my other junk as well. Special weapons, rare armors, helmets and jewelry, and other tchotchke that we all pick up during our travels. But there's no decent way to show them off. Well, I'd like that to change. Much as the book shelf accepts books then scripturally arranges them on the shelf or the weapons rack pops your swords/whatever into place, I'd like to be able to plunk down some of my more fun items onto a surface and have them arrange themselves safely and orderly for viewing. Sure, I can drop them, then pick them up by holding "E", but have you ever tried to do that for any careful arranging? It's like having one invisible arm that's locked in a cast and has fallen asleep. I may as well just drop the items on the floor and leave them there if that's my only choice. I'm not thinking specialty shelves for each item, complete with display plaques and catalog numbers (though I admit that would be fun), I'm just thinking something for modders to be able to include in homes and additions. It would give the homes more individual personality and allow for more reward for achievements in the game, because you'd SEE what you'd succeeded at doing.
  8. The only problem I see with that is if you collect all the mods together in one .esp you get a MONSTER .esp. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, and want it as badly as you do... It's just the practicality of it that's at issue. I don't suppose there's a way to make a batch file that would assemble a store's wares from a given list of .esp files? There's a lot of armors, etc. that are just kind of floating around without any adequate way to get them outside of using a console command, being able to automagically have them appear as someone's stock would save a lot of work for the player. Although my idea was for a mailbox sort-of system, where the items would be delivered into a chest or to the player via the Courier. Maybe the ideas could be combined and have a Courier who is a store employee. ^_^
  9. If it was up to me I'd remove the snow except from the higher peaks. But that's mainly 'cause I hate snow.
  10. Heh... I was thinking you meant "Hit the target and teleport IT to a random location somewhere else on the map-- ideally someplace lethal or at least too far away to come back quickly". Kind of a Cheat Mod "Make It Gone" sort of thing. ^_^
  11. I grew up with *EXCEPTIONALLY* poor vision (All Praise Science and LAZIK surgery) and one thing I find fundmentally flawed in most "realistic" mods is the ultra-clarity HD supersharpness everyone seems to want.... for me personally, that's actually *LESS* realistic to me, because it's not what I see when I look out the window. Now, I'm sure something along what I want exists, but I don't know the words to search for it, so I welcome anyone willing to help: I know for a fact that the game can blur the distances out while keeping the foreground relatively clear, so I'd like something just like that that extends out to the edge of the LOD margin, let's say 300 feet but keep it adjustable for different people's opinions. Outside of that, I'd like to have what's out there be fuzzy and indistinct, perhaps affected dynamically by things like glare and light level-- too much light right in front and the distances wash out completely, maybe. This would make the game a LOT more plausible for me, personally, and I can also see how it would drastically increase the challenge for some folks as well. ^_^
  12. Yes, there are similar mods (well, heading in that direction, anyway-- search on CBBE and CHSBHC), and converting Oblivion mods for Skyrim would be really hard because of the differences in the game engines... I thought that was exactly what I said?
  13. So, I had a bright idea while looking at this mod: Crafting Recipe Books - Resource and Tutorial [http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9155] which is a way for modders to introduce crafting recipes without them just appearing in your lists, now you get to find the books and learn them that way. MY idea was, a delivery system for notes and books and whatever into a mailbox type container or to have them delivered by the Imperial messenger that shows up with the Shout wall locations. With all the mods available, it's very easy to forget where some of this new stuff is, so a note saying "The chest with the Fiery Sword Of Vengeance mod is behind the Cathedral on the Mountain" or "Forsooth! Art thou Adventurer enough for the +2 Brassiere of Up-Pushing? Seek thee the Plains of Mystery as the last light of day shines on the Standing Stones!" or whatever. The point is, the idea would be for a modder be able to deliver their mods in a more creative way than just plunking it into your inventory, even though technically it'd still be that easy. Heck, It might even be fun to create a new faction with quests, Deliver This to There, a special uniform, etc.
  14. As far as I know, there's nothing stopping anyone from making a spherical computer-looking eyeball named, say, "Nigel", using original (but distinctly Wheatley-sounding) voice files. You can even say, "Hay guyz check out my Wheatley clone LULZ." What you CAN'T do is use the sounds files from Portal 2 and upload it to the Nexus. It can look like Wheatley, move like Wheatley, sound like Wheatley.... it just can't BE Wheatley. If you think about it, it's not only fair, but actually a bit more liberating: Nigel (as I've described) can be better localized to speak to specific situations, Wheatley wouldn't be able to freak out about dragons and draugr and the player shooting lightning out his fingers. Hm. Now that I've said this, I'd like to have a Nigel.
  15. I think you gave people a lot of ideas, but I doubt they were helpful ones. ^_^ There are some extra-shapely models complete with jiggliness, but as far as I know importing the specific models from the Oblivion mods requires permission and a metric butt-load of work, since (again, AFAIK) the physics system is juuuust off enough to make a simple batchfile conversion unworkable. Lots of little tweaks and adjustments, then there's weights and vertexes and blah blah blah.... Seriously, and without any sarcasm: I think it will be faster if you learn how to do it for yourself, rather than wait for someone to do it for you. I've been hoping for a SPB Curvaceous mod/conversion/equivalent but I'm losing hope on anyone doing that for Nexus. I would REALLY like to be wrong, though... *Puppy-dog eyes*
  16. Maybe there's some nice person who can describe or link to a good tutorial on how a person can convert files like this for ourselves? Not just the body, but the outfits as well? Please? Pleeeaaasssseeeee? *Puppy dog eyes* I mean, I know we couldn't upload them without permission... and that's fair. But still, being able to use those mods on our own systems should be an issue, right?
  17. AFAIK, yes, this should be completely doable. The trick will be getting an acceptable muscle-built model to be the far end of the scale.
  18. I've seen more than a few in dungeons, actually... there's often a large room, with a few smaller rooms off to the side, and one of those rooms will have NOTHING but a wide platform with a hole in it and a bucket. Depending on how the designer was feeling at the time, there will sometimes be a book nearby. I suppose if you're gonna have outhouses, you should also give them a percentage chance for occupancy. "Hey, Do you mind? Can't a guy have a little private time?"
  19. I would personally use this more for when my character went into town to talk to people, especially the jarls and their staff. some how it feel disrespectful to still be wielding all that stuff, but putting ALL in the inventory doesn't seem always necessary, either.
  20. I agree... life in Skyrim seems pretty good, for the most part-- a bit harsh given the winters, but that just means that the people who live there WANT to live there. (I can't imagine anyone would stay if they didn't-- *I* certainly find all the snow depressing.) I mean, outside the monsters and now the dragons, and the civil war, and people discovering ancient WMD's and Lord knows what else, it seems like a nice place to be. So yeah, seeming more people being happy about it would suit me. ^_^
  21. Most folks will probably say "Use the console and 'player.setscale .5'" or something, but a body model for halflings/hobbits/whatever would be acceptable for most folks, I'm sure. I'm in favor of this project, at any rate. ^_^
  22. I could be happy with just a cape that billows in the wind and reacts to my movements. The armor is cool, but the cape pushes it to Awesome.
  23. So, turn based combat, rather than real-time? I have to agree, that sounds like a metric boat load of effort. Undoable? No... and, possibly, a worthy project. But as has been suggested, it'd probably be easier just to start from scratch rather than retrofit an already established system.
  24. Good question. I wouldn't, but on the other hand, I can see possible ideas for maybe wanting to do so: Suppose you wanted to plant a cache of useful items here and there, picking them up as you pulled an enemy down a path. I've seen movies that did that kind of thing, and the cool value is worth exploring. You might also want to hide excess treasure and come back for it once you've unloaded at the merchants'... I expect something like that would appeal to people who don't use fast-travel, but can't move fast enough to retrieve dropped items or stuff in non-owned containers. And, suppose you're playing a psycho and want to plant bombs for bandits, etc. to find. THEY have no trouble with trapping their chests, why shouldn't we? *evil grin*
  25. The way I see it you have end game, and then you have End Game. Completing a major quest deserves a bit of splash and dazzle, and agreed, most folks (myself included) want to keep playing (I loves me some dungeon crawlin', for example). I have noticed most bosses will have a Cool Item (Oooh! Aaah!), which is a good start, but when you lead a major organization you really should get more than shiny stuff. After I wrote my original post, I went back to the college after completing that quest (I'm the freakin' archmage, primarily because I did some stuff any one of them could have done and
