  1. Hm... maybe if there's a way to declare items of your choice as "Quest Items". That could work.
  2. Depends on what you plan to do with 'em once you get them. One guy wanted a pizza-box shield and a delivery guy set of clothes for his character... I don't recall but I think he got drowned by the flood of "ZOMG That's not lore friendly!!!" posts. ^_^
  3. I am very much in favor of this. For extra points, carts carrying people would be awesome set dressing as well. ^_^
  4. Oh, I never said that, although it is probably true. Also, waiting for someone else to do what you want always carries a risk of disappointment. Indeed, I say ASSUME you'll be disappointed, that way if you're wrong it's not so bad and if you're right it'll seem like part of the plan. ^_~ I strongly suspect this (going back to the OP) will be very difficult, if having the game generate a child Sims-style is what's in mind. It might be easier to, rather than have a child scratch-built every time, have a stable of personalities, apply an appropriate body based on the parent(s), and run with it from there. Adoption may come first, if only because it *might* be easier. Training the child will be challenging as well; since the game doesn't level followers, there will probably need to be some kind of script that can dynamically alter an NPC's stats... and, how would that be handled in game? Could the child learn by doing, or could you (the player) train them the same way trainers do for you when you pay them?
  5. An interesting request. I'm sure it won't be hard once the CK is out, although tedious.
  6. There's a thread discussing that option already... I don't mean "Don't discuss it" I mean "you're not alone in that thought." The idea of adopting a kid and training them to be a follower/squire/sidekick is very appealing. Especially if a voice pack might be included to add some depth (and comedy) to the player's travels. I've said it. I'm rather taken with the idea. ^_^ There IS a pregnancy model resource out there, but AFAIK no clothes or armor for it, yet, and it's a replacer, not a standalone. So, EVERYONE in the world suddenly becomes pregnant, which in my mind kinda defeats the purpose of trying to tailor your character.
  7. Most of the "knockback" stuff I've seen in Oblivion and Fallout generally had the victim literally flying out of the cell altogether. While undeniably fun, this seemed a tad extreme... perhaps a happy medium might be found.
  8. I would particularly like (although it seems pretty "out there" as far as expectability) to be able to take player-made journals from one save game and open them in another... In practical terms, being able to jot down notes about where a particularly cool weapon is, or a warning about a nasty ambush in Dungeon X; in lore terms it can be explained as a previous adventurer's journal(s) that in whatever way passed into your hands.
  9. I felt like that, too... I completed the Mage quest and was handed the reigns of the entire organization in spite of vastly more experienced and qualified people *standing right in front of me*. And, having earned that position, all I seemed to get for my troubles was free run of the building-- no job perks, no raise in pay, no new responsibilities or duties to perform, no respect for my accomplishments... just the key to the executive wash room and time in the gym. When I finished the main quest-- by doing so, saving the *freakin' world*-- nothing changed. I don't know what I expected, but a parade might have been nice. Maybe a quiet little mansion and some acreage near Whiterun. At the very least a pat on the head and a cookie. Nope, not even that much.
  10. Hey, I found more gun resource models: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6216 This is clearly a popular idea, I can't wait to see how it works in-game.
  11. Until the CK comes out, don't expect a lot. And, odds are, whole new threads will probably be made, as well.
  12. Like I said, I don't know the stories very well, I only know Rincewind and Two-Flower, and the Luggage. Ankh-Morpork I don't think even existed in the first book. Therefore, most of what you're describing is going clear over my head. BUT, having a nice big proper city to explore would be a good thing, which is why I'm in favor of this. All I'm asking is to allow for folks who *don't* know the books to be able to have just as much ability to enjoy the mod. Who knows; if I like the mod, I may pick up the books again. ^_^
  13. This is a good point... By removing the blood/gore from the game you remove the consequences of the violent actions... Stabbing someone with a knife or shooting them with fire is considered 'a bad thing to do' in any book and removing graphic depictions of those actions and what happens afterwards will *not* teach that lesson. If you want to remove the gore, you should remove the fighting and killing. This is why a lot of people are pointing out the "M" rating... the killing is more or less the POINT of playing, and therefore will be very difficult to extract. I'm certainly not saying that the goal of the OP is unworthy; on the contrary... the market needs more child-friendly games, and full-family-friendly games (something parent may play with child and everybody gets just as much enjoyment out of it). I'm just thinking that Skyrim won't be the practical choice for a starting point. The game *engine*, sure, but not Skyrim itself.
  14. I could be happy with a "Polymorph to Mudcrab" ring. Slip it on a POOOF! Yer a crab. And, when the joke ran its course, and you've had your fun, !FOOOP And yer a person agin'.
  15. You obviously don't know Americans too well... then we'd complain about not having a mod to take our liberties away. There is NO winning when it comes to what Americans will complain about. We'll complain about damn near anything-- including not having anything to complain about, and people pointing out that we complain about damn near anything. I assure you, I am not being facetious.
  16. The Adoring Fan was the only follower I've ever liked. Why? Because he DOESN'T GET IN MY &*^%$#()@!(*$#_)&*&*^%$#^%$@#&*^$&*^%@#^%$@# WAY. :wallbash: :verymad: *ahem* Seriously, he would run and not engage any enemies, and let me get on with fighting by myself. No KillStealing, no rushing in and getting washed with my AOE's, no standing behind and perforating my skull and kidneys with arrows. He'd just stand there, all beaming and happy, occasionally holding a torch. He'd even carry my stuff when I asked him. Granted, I replaced him with a female fan mod as soon as I could, since his voice was like a cheese shredder (I mean the character, not the actor-- the actor did a great job of being really annoying) and that hair prevented any level of being able to take him seriously, but still. The effect was still there. -EDIT- Started thinking about it, and I remembered that I liked Alyx from Half Life 2, Part 1. The part in the tunnels when the player shines the flashlight and she does the shooting worked great, mainly because of actual teamwork.
  17. I've only read the first book, but the only word I could think of when I read this topic title was "Ambitious". If it can be made so that people who don't know the story(s) can have fun with it too, then go for it, I say. -Edit- I'll say this much right now: even just a quarter of the above map getting completed will still be a vast improvement on what's Vanilla. WAY too many of the towns in the game are "'Welcome' on the same post that says 'Come Back Again'" sized; I know Skyrim is a hard place but there can't be more than a few thousand in the entire territory.
  18. I don't see why the Cannibalism system shouldn't remove the corpses completely. Dungeon crawling is hungry work, after all. *burp*
  19. I have been seeing a lot of new bodies, with morph targets allowing for expansion in *ahem* popular areas. ^_^ I'm thinking about this, and thinking how clever it is, and also remembering a mod for Fallout and F:NV called Attack Of The 50 ft. Woman, based affectionately on the movie of the same name. The mod allows the player to grow (via setscale) to absurd heights when exposed to various stimuli-- cannibalism if you're evil, radiation if you're good (a few Rad-Aways reverse can the effect). What I'm wondering is: would it be possible to use Skyrim's ability to use morph targets to "Hulk" out, a bit more literally? If I had a ultra bulked-out model (let's use Fallout's Super Mutants as a reference for the purpose of discussion), would it be possible for me to go from mild mannered mage to "Hulk Smash" in a semi-fluid motion? The question is, is it possible. This isn't a mod request, and I realize there's things no one can answer without the CK, but still... the idea has been bouncing around my head for a while, and I'm curious if it's even feasible.
  20. I really think this thing about trying to make obesity lore-friendly is getting over-thought. The simple fact is, some of us would like heavier bodies for the game. I'd also like sky whales, a battle mech and Pinkie Pie as my faithful steed. The point of the game's mod-ability is that I can DO that if I want, but no one else has to if they don't. *What* fat body mesh? Are you thinking of a specific one, and if so, where is it? The one some nice person makes? Oh, right *THAT* one, right... forgot about that one. ^_^ Get cracking, Nice Person! ^_^
  21. Haha that's EXACTLY what I mean! You understand me perfectly :P. I got told that "Real Vikings" never wore helmets like that, but then they actually found one in an archaeological dig in Yorvick, in York, England; so I say whatever, gimme some cartoon vikings and I'm happy. ^_^
  22. There's several D&D monsters that I'd like to see in Skyrim... I've always had an affection for rust monsters, which could easily be made to degrade armor-- the heavier the armor, the faster the degradation.
  23. If "Throw any weapon" included tankards, plates, bottles, kettles, and any of the other metric bazillions of other clutter lying around then I'm in.
  24. I'll probably get snarked at if I suggest these guys as costume reference. ^_^ But if I could have as a monster I'd be very happy. ^_^
  25. There's a lot of people who would like the bags, too, especially considering the models already exist in-game. The trick is execution... at least until the CK comes out.
