I almost always play as a good character (I get attached to my characters, which makes me feel bad if I do evil), so essential characters don't really bother me. I wouldn't blame the increasing-shallowness of RPGs on them - more on the fact that the missions don't have much multiple choice. It's especially apparent in Fallout 4, where sometimes all 4 dialogue options lead to the exact same thing.

Instead of using "tfc", use "tfc 1", which pauses the game when you do flying camera. That way, you won't have to use "tgp". Just makes it a bit easier. :) -
I accidentally posted on my mod page and ruined my 3,500. :(

With the latest release of the Fallout 4 Configuration Tool, we are now able to force all NPCs to use up ammunition in their inventory. If they run out, they are left with melee. This is great, but unfortunately, most NPCs and turrets only have about 5-20 bullets in their inventory. That's including automatic weapons! So, essentially, with this tweak, 90% of enemies you come across will run out of ammo in about 5 seconds and then run up to punch you. Turrets will fire about 5 shots and then do nothing. It's kinda silly. If anyone could edit it so that all actors have, perhaps, double or triple the ammo in their inventories, that would be awesome to go along with this tweak. I had a quick look in FO4Edit, but I can't wrap my head around it. Were the CK released, I reckon I'd be able to do it, but yeah, that's not out. Also, not sure if it's possible yet, but if most enemies could also get a backup melee weapon to use once they're out of ammo, it would be a tad more realistic. Thanks for any assistance!

I want to make face and body textures 2 & 4k but...

In Skyrim? :P Anyway, others have had the same issue trying to get higher resolution character textures to work in-game. As of yet, I believe there is no fix. -
I'm pretty proud of my retexture of the Minutemen General outfit in Fallout 4. Granted, the original was pretty shocking, but with a decent texture it looks quite nice. I will probably release it soon. :D

Which Desktop is Best for Gaming?
billyro replied to Ironman5000's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Do you have a nice monitor to go with it? Just asking because I rushed my monitor decision and have regretted it ever since. This one has poor colour contrast and bad pixel size, which hurts the graphics of all my games. So yeah, make sure you get a good monitor to go with it, otherwise your hardware won't be using its full potential. EDIT: And if you want the highest framerate possible in Fallout 4, try go for 1080p as opposed to any larger ones. -
Yep, pretty much. Metal Gear 5 was definitely rushed out the door - it could have benefited greatly from having at least 5 more story missions. Ah well. Also, I have a pretty good collection of power armour in Fallout 4... :P 7 of them in total. Some are incomplete, but that's mainly because the pieces are broken and I don't have enough materials to repair them.

Yep, that was when I started to get pissy with MGSV as well. Play Fallout 4 instead. :P

Autosaves. Ones where I don't have to open the Pip-boy for it to autosave. -
You won't regret it. :)

I ban Brokenergy for being delusional.

Swords should be possible by using the baseball bat animations, if they're not already in the game (which they probably will be). Not too sure about bows, since guns superseded bows centuries ago (and if it's noise you're worried about, then use a silenced weapon). I'll definitely be making swords for Fallout. If... that's any surprise to anyone. :P

Yeah, I don't think the bright green one is very fitting for Fallout 4. We've hardly seen any green in the gameplay trailers - a teal colour or perhaps a tan colour would be more appropriate, I reckon.

Okay, so looking at the map, it appears that the dotted lines on the road (on the red side at the intersection) are in the wrong place - they should actually be on the other side (blue). It would make sense that someone who needed to do a 90 degree turn would wait in lieu of someone who only needs to do 45 degree turn, since the red line person could take off much faster. So, it's because the lines are in the wrong place that is causing the issue. If the lines were fixed, then you'd be absolutely right and should have priority. But, the way the road is set out is stupid, so law-wise, I guess the lady was entitled to go first. It's dumb, but yeah. Maybe suggest to the council to put up a give-way sign or something for less confusion?

Which Desktop is Best for Gaming?
billyro replied to Ironman5000's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Now that I look at it again, yeah, number 5 looks better than 4. Intel processors are better than AMD processors, from what I've heard. Only issue might be the price over number 4, but it would be worth it... -
I tried my best. :P

I'm no tech guru, but the 4th one looks the best to me. That processor seems pretty capable, and the GTX 960 is a pretty powerful card. Also, 2TB storage (no SSD though). I can't say for certain the rest of the peripherals, but they seem adequate as well. Also, keep in mind that Bethesda is working with Nvidia, so their cards are much more likely to work well with Fallout 4. But just to be on the safe side, perhaps wait until someone else can chime in. But if it were me, I'd probably go with number 4. -
I don't get it. Nvidia has never intruded on me before, and I get to enjoy regular driver updates and good game support. Isn't that enough for people?

Yeah, script extenders should be fine. Bethesda will shoot themselves in the foot if they chuck a hissy-fit over them.
