  1. Yes, that worked! Thank you very much. One problem is that while I'm able to pickaxe, there is no mined ore being added to my inventory so something isn't quite right. ( I wish that these links could be seen in existing vanilla objects so that new modders could just go into the CK and pick up on this....) In linked references I've linked the ore with the PickaxeMiningFloorMarker and visa versa. No keyword. Can you assist with what I'm missing? Your help is appreciated.
  2. Well, working on my mod and I deleted a vanilla mining ore deposit in the area I was working. Well, I really didn't want to make that kind of change to the game, so I tried to reinstate it but the ore deposit won't work. I also tried copying over another vanilla deposit that was working, but no go. I get the activation message when I'm near it, but I can't mine. Yes, I do have a pickaxe in inventory. Any ideas?
  3. I have an odd problem that is really going to make it near impossible to complete navmeshing my rather big house mod. Suddenly, moving vertices around stopped working. When I attempt to move a vertice, or even the triangle or edge, they are like glued and won't move. Anyone had this issue come up and know of a solution?
  4. Can you just load the skyrim.esm file wo the dlcs? To load dlcs in CK you have to first modify the skyrimeditor.ini file so that the Kit will load the dlcs.
  5. Yes, I have. Copied over triggers, looked within the triggers to see what (if any) links are in place. When I use the same in my mod, doesn't work. Just about every major house mod has this now so it must be common knowledge how to do it. I've also looked for guides or tuts.
  6. I hit a roadblock in my mod. I have been creating a house mod since Dec that includes a bath and I want to also build a pool area but I have no idea how to create the bathing (undressing/redressing) featured in many house mods, both for player and NPCs. If anyone can point to a guide or instruction on this, I'd be ever grateful. Thanks!
  7. I am attempting to add this devise to my mod, and have tried copying it along with the lever and the crafting book marker from the game into my mod. I checked the links it has at its original location in the DLC2 and then again in my mod and all works well, but the copy (though linked up) just it won't work. I tired to re-create it from scratch, also won't work. Am I missing something else that needs to be linked? I just have the 3 pieces: imbuing machine, its lever, and the marker. The marker and the lever are all that is linked? Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  8. Duh....that was an easy find. Thanks Faithful Poster! I checked and I am still way under the limit....so I have figure out why those particular items disappear.
  9. How exactly do you find out what the mb usage for a cell is?? I have two interior cells I'm working with for the same esp and the 2nd one is giving me strange behavior (like items I've placed disappearing. This has happened a few times to the same items.)
  10. There has to be a better way. Thanks to feedback here, I was able to get floors straightened out use the grid. Not so with things like walls and especially ceiling beams in houses. The beams are never straightened once you use right click to move, say a horizontal beam, in place. You can never ever right-mouse click it to place. Its always off by a tiny bit, and, of course, once you get from one end to the other...its entirely off. I know I'm missing something because I see plenty of straight beams in other mods. What is the tactic for getting this right? Appreciative for guidance.
  11. Ok, thanks. This is not really what I need then. I was just hoping to find an easy way of viewing the nif in IE just as I do any pic.
  12. Ok, so I re-installed NifScope and I'm basically still only getting a pictureframe and lines in the view window. I'm not interested in modifying textures or meshes. I just want to view existing textures to include in my mod. Here is what I see on NifScope when I load one of the textures. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k467/TRBeth/NifS-1.png
  13. Well, I do have the NifScope installed, however, the viewer only shows lines and so forth. Not an actual picture of what I wanting to look at. Perhaps I need to uninstall and reinstall the program then. thanks.
  14. I am trying to pull some nif files from other resource files (that are modder tools and designed for use by other modders-not stealing), however, my PC will not display the mesh so I can see which ones I want. I tired using NifScope but an actual visual of the item does not show up. Is there a way to view these files without going in to CK and opening up every file? Thanks.
  15. I am just learning how to mod Skyrim, so I'm sure this has a simple ans. I am working on a house in the CK and the house has a strange blue-green hazy glow in-game. I didn't notice this until I went in-game to test out how the mod was looking. Baffled, I returned to CK, played around with some of the buttons on the toolbar. When I ticked on SKY Toggle, then the blue-green haze showed out throughout the render window. Anyone know what is going on and how to get rid of this? Thanks! http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k467/TRBeth/ScreenShot8.png In CK http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k467/TRBeth/CK.png
  16. This is what I have done: Added to the [General] bottom line bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 To the [Archieve] added to this line: (unlined below is what I added) SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Heathfires.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa
  17. I have been working with CK to start down the road of mod creation for myself and ran into a roadblock. I can't load any DLC in the CK. There was a fix to the .ini file when the DLCs originally came out, however, I tried those modification and it didn't work. Anyone with Windows 8 create a mod using the DLCs? Also, how do you load other mods in the CK? Hopefully, someone knows....
  18. This is an old topic, but its spot on to what I need to refer to so I'd like to resurrect it hoping that someone can help. I have Win. 8.1 and followed the above instructions modifying the skyrimeditor.ini. However, it did not work. I was able to open up CK but all the render window would show are a few outlines of would should have been a sizable house. I then tried opening up an official house and had the same problem. Reverted back to my original skyrimeditor.ini and all was well as long as I did not try to open with dlc. Now I did see on the internet that some experienced this issue using Win8, but I didn't see a solution anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I use the 360 controller for pc wo problems. I've also played on xbox. Feels much the same to me. Since you are exp lag, you may want to assess your rig's resources and its ability to handle skyrim and the added mods you've installed. Was skyrim running well before you installed mods? You may need to tweek the sensitivity of your controller. Check setting/sensitivity in-game.
  20. Please help. New to forum and nexus and love being here. But, for the life of me, I can't seem to view quoted messages NOR reply with a quote. Quoted messages normally appear with a In response to post #222222222. This is a link which logically, when clicked, should take you to the original post being quoted. Its doesn't do that when I click. Now, attempting to respond to someone else's post. Hit reply with quotes, no quoted material appears in my post. Please help me figure this out. Thanks!
  21. There are guides to the CK, but a complete guide like your undertaking, should reference the CK and at least provide links to it. Its not bad to have every aspect of modding at your fingertips in one reference location, even if its just links to other good sources. I'm new to skyrim (began playing in Sept) and already feeling the allure of modding for myself . Looking for guides and stumped into this topic. Wish it was done. Good luck!
