  1. Awesome! I'm planning on picking up this game some time, but if I win a key you guys will save me some cash =P
  2. I really want the effed up bolt action animations and meshes changed to having the bolt on the right side and using the right hand to cycle it... it's so stupid. The way they have done it, the shell would really be smacking you in the face.
  3. In response to post #25824399. #25825194, #25856609, #25880619, #25882239 are all replies on the same post. not to mention Skyrim actually had the solution to the issue but failed to use it fully... Protected NPC's. They won't die from falling off a ledge or get killed by bandits, but the the player fights them you can kill them. Much better than the god like indestructible npc's imo.
  4. In response to post #24587454. #24587604, #24587789 are all replies on the same post. Well we should do at least something. We all let DLC get as bad as it is. Last thing we need is for modding to become the next DLC
  5. In response to post #12567105. Indeed. I got into the Beta and I gave it a fair chance. It just lacks the charm of a TES game for me. What got me into TES at the start was not the lore or the art style. It was the fact that it was a pretty in depth open world RPG in first person, that actually encouraged you to stick to role playing your class while allowing you the freedom to branch out your skills if you desired (Morrowind was my first) Just having TES background, races and 'lore' is not enough for me. It needs that gameplay and freedom. I was pretty annoyed to realise that Night Blades are fairly limited in the magic department. It is also weird making Sorcerers the main 'magic' class seeing as the Sorcerer was always a Magic-Combat hybrid in past TES games.
  6. I would like support for Sins of a Solar Empire for sure! a stable download for 7DS would be excellent.
  7. The chitin armor in the DLC is more likely the Dunmer Chitin armor, it's smooth white shells combined with leather. not pointy like the chaurus stuff.
  8. I don't think it is a good idea. adding a national id card just seems... dangerous to me. It's not realy that hard to get 100 points. Birth cert, medicare and a bank card is usualy enough.
  9. I've recomend using this: I find a good way to start things is to mess around modifing things that already exist. (modding is a good precursor to creation) Try mixing and matching armour peices, altering shapes etc. to get familiar with how 3d programs work, and what processes you need to undertake to get stuff working in game. You'll find it a heck of a lot more easier and fun than trying to make a set of armor from scratch with no experiance. The tutorial series I linked to is very good, the guy explains each step and walks you through things. I've been using it myself to learn how to alter armors.
  10. Anything one able to maybe instruct me on how to combine meshes? I wouldn't mind doing it myself if I could work out how... was hoping aruless would put them together for me but I haven't heard back for a while..
  11. Hmmm... Might try making this as a retexture of the mage robes. I did rather enjoy the book series....
  12. Already a mod; Dual Wield Parrying... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9247 Does require Script Dragon for the optimal version, so be aware. However, it works great. No more being unable to block just because you're holding something in your left hand =P
  13. I realy wish we could bring the original Oblivion armors into Skyrim... shame we can't v__v
  14. I chose my own way in a sense; Jinn Alcras belives in the Empire, but he hates the Thalmor. Result: I supported the Empire, but did my darn best to thawt the Thalmor at every turn. If I come across justicars, I kill them and let the stormcloak prisoners free; better to live and die in battle than to rot in a thalmor jail is what Jinn thinks. At the end of the day, I couldn't see much in Ulfric. He's charismatic yes, but despite all his talk of honour and justice he is a cruel and petty man. He could have defeated the high king without using the voice, he was the better warrior. Yet he deliberatly used a power he knew the king had no defence against just for shock value and to big note himself. I support the Empire, they may look like they're bowing to the Thalmor, but it is obvious that it is just a tactical choice to consolidate power before breaking free. If anything, a united Empire is a stronger Empire. A isolationist Skyrim is going to have a lot of trouble.
  15. While I realy love Skyrim, the thing that kinda gets me is the lack of character stats. I started with morrowind, and loved how I could have a very strong character, or a weak just fast and agile character. So I guess that plays some part. In oblivion those stats still existed, and I found it easier to play than morrowind (even if it was lacking character and consequences) I realy wish they hadn't killed stats. It makes it hard for a lot of mods too. Duke Patricks combat for example required strength and agility ect for certain calculations. survival mods always relied on stats too, and it's harder having only health stamina and magicka.... I agree that some of the quests in Skyrim feel a little futile. I get the feeling there was more choice in previous games....
  16. The armor has already been converted on the nexus I'll upload the mesh for you. I'f you'd be able to help me that would be very appreciated! Basicaly I want just the cuirass of the blades armor to replace the chest. If you can get the shoulder belt/strap over the blades cuirass that would be awesome, but not nessecary. here is the link to the meshes http://www.mediafire.com/?313p2t6fk8dd0ws
  17. Was just going to ask if someone would be able to combine the Seltkirk armor (imported from the witcher 2) with a cuirass from the blades armor. I've been trying to make it work myself, but I cannot get blender to work, and it doesn't seem like I can combine the two with Nifskope alone. (well, I can but it doesn't work in game, just makes the CS crash) I'm planning on making a companion mod, and the character is an ex-blade. If someone could help me with this it would be very appreciated.
  18. It's not exatualy what you're asking for, but the ancient nord barbarian armor in this mod is close: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6684 Sorry I can't mash it together myself... I've been trying to work out how to do it without much success so far...
  19. Yeah, I loved Lord's Mail.. Would be awesome to see it in Skyrim.
  20. Yeah, the way that mod is set up means you tend to lose your smithing perks though.
  21. The skyrim appearance is actualy more like the Morrowind style. The elves looked very alien in Morrowind and to a slightly lesser extent in arena and daggerfall. Oblivion made all the races look very... homogenised. Personaly I like the unique approach to elves in TES. More to the point, why couldn't Bethesda have made Skyrim elves look like the elves from their other games? I'm not all that familiar with the Morrowind look, but while the default elf face in Oblivion wasn't exactly something a mother could love, it wasn't all that difficult to make a handsome/beautiful elf in that game -- and I'm not talking about one that looked that way because they were made to look human. The Bosmer was, I think, the most difficult of the mer races to customize to look "good" (to my eyes), but even that one could, with a little work and no mods, be done quite well. The elves in Skyrim are hideous. In fact, most of the default appearances in this game are hideous, and the tweaking can't make most of them look much better. Someone said that the people in Skyrim are better because they don't have the supermodel look, implying that's what those of us complaining about this want. I disagree completely. I don't think most of us want a supermodel look. I certainly don't. I want smooth (not blocky) outlines. Faces in this game look like roughly hewn stone sculptures, before the artist has made any attempt to smooth out the edges and round the facets. It wasn't like that in Oblivion, and I doubt it was like that in Morrowind. The difference between Skyrim and Oblivion is that Bethesda dramatically simplified the tweaking, and, I suspect, the face mesh. We had a plethora of settings that could fine-tune a face in Oblivion. We have only several handfuls, now, and they're woefully inadequate to move the face much away from its default appearance.
