Todd´s response to the worries about the 6 GB
jedimembrain replied to Fisrion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
That's just because of Oblivion and the 360 shenanigans...Todd wasn't lying; he was describing things that were included at the time, but had to be cut once they received the specs for the console. That's no reason to assume he's bs-ing you every time he speaks. oh gawd lets not go over that again .. people are so stupid ~_~;.. Todd never lied .. it was all due to not having the 360 specs while they were making the game... anyone who argues with that is an idiot for not knowing their history. -
your pointing out a major oversight in design in comparison to skyrim .. but its not made by the same team.

NV wasn't bethesda damnit :wallbash:
-
uugh.. reading those tweets .. people are f***ing rude to him .. I feel ashamed to be a TES fan .. he must hate us with all those obnoxious asshats.
-
my NV does but its a digital copy .. my oblivion does not... nor my fallout 3.

Not all countries are included. The game will still be English here in Croatia, without any kind of Croatian subtitles, audio or anything. Even the game box and manual are in English. But as I said, you can order from the UK to get the English version. So that's not really a problem. EDIT: I still believe we will be able to choose the game language from Steam. Oblivion supports English, Spanish, Italian and German. Ive never heard of steam offering an audio download for different languages .. if its not on the game disk then it most likely wont be in your game period .. maybe if you download the digital copy you might be able to select language

todd howard said himself in an early interview that there will be a lot more because they have gotten much better compression .. I doubt he would say that if they were using the same tech

An exclusive look at "towns, cities, and more"
jedimembrain replied to erikface's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
seeing as every major videogame news site has posted that footage except G4 .. I would almost bet on it  Hope its new though :D -
Correct. it was around 5.5ish all in. I'm not totally surprised that it is 6GB. The voice bsa's are always the largest, I suspect that this time around this is where a good chunk of the extra size comes from. I predicted it to be over 5gig just because of all the extra sound files I was expecting. when you take that into account and that compression is much better than it was in 2005 there is no reason to fear.

absolutely .. the i7 and 570 are far beyond recommended specs. -

I owned a 220 for awhile and I doubt it .. my 220 couldn't handle oblivion without a bunch of ini file tweaks .. I guess its possible after some heavy tweaking .. hard to say... can you run oblivion? .. if you can then I bet you can run skyrim .. just not very pretty. usrs? I can run Oblivion and Fallout 3 at a pretty high graphical setting. with my optimal resolution aswell (1920x1080). I can run the witcher 2 at eh... an okay rate. It's a bit laggy in forests and I need to put it at 1000ishx700ish. It looks pretty nice after I enabled some things that aren't dependent on the graphic card. So I have moderate detail with some fps drop. Well fallout 3 ran on high with my 220 but oblivion has always been an issue for my PC .. outside I get like 30-40fps on my 550ti .. inside I get about 200fps lols .. 210 is super low end though <_< .. I'm surprised you can run oblivion on "pretty high" settings .. if you can then you should be able to handle skyrim .. its not a very demanding game. -

580 > 570 .. by ... http://laptoping.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/GeForce-GTX-580M-vs-570M-vs-560M.gif This much ^ Edit: .. Both have DX11, OpenGL,Shader Model 5 blah blah .. that standard on ALL cards.

Duly quoted. Couldn't agree more. Dragons are engines of destruction, or at best arrogant p**cks who believe they're the gods' gift to the world (and thus eligible to be cut down by heroes, peasants, and small animals). And YES, I am biased :D Bad timing .. they just announced you can call on a dragon ally on monday :P

no.. no... hmm.. no way .. I started fallowing skyrim intensely since January and I havn't stopped checking the bethblog daily since then .. Skyrim wait felt like years to me >_< my own fault... but thats nothing compared to how slow these next couple weeks will be!

Rage is 8hrs and comes on three disks .. Its all about how the game is put together .. Bethesda uses prefab set kits they make .. so they don't require as much .. a game like whitcher builds every area by hand and bakes in the shadow maps .. meaning it need a unique model and texture set for every level .. its really amazing how good looking Skyrim is when you concider they don't use any graphical tricks like pre baked shadow maps.

what do you mean "which is a pos compared to your rig.? I mean "piece of Sh#%" .. your PC is better than a 360  @Elsarian .. Idk .. I don't keep up with ATI cards at all .. Since .. oh say .. 2004 when they started to suck.

If I can find a quad core my motherboard can support I might be updating that in the next couple weeks .. my duo 2.6ghz is starting to feel old .. aside from that my GPU,RAM,OS are all good to go .. and I'm not a "I need 60FPS!!" type .. 25 is playable to me .. 35-45 is great .. 60 is just not noticable.
-
also compression tech has gotten way better in the past few years .. and I'm sure bethesda has a much better team that have been fine tuned from fallout and are ready to tackle whats needed .. they have always used and I assume still will use set parts that they can duplicate and mix to make their dungeons and houses .. so there are a lot of reasons why there is no need to be concerned about that low HDD space needed .. but it would be nice for pete to tweet something like "dont worry.. the game is massive .. we have just gotten good at compressing it all into one disk" .. instead of his sarcasm about us being happy its requires less
-
rec is 260 .. the 450 is a lil less or just on par .. about the same really .. the 450 has DX11 though .. which honestly means squat for this game. And the graphics ram doesn't mean a whole lot .. its really just about texture size and screen size .. 1gig is standard these days and more than enough for any game .. assuming your system ram is 3gig+ You will run it but not on "ultra" settings .. it will look better than the 360 though! .. which is a pos compared to your rig.

Wow .. in the start of the video when he freezes that redguard that water looked much better than what they have been showing so far o__o *claps*

Lols.. do they still make those videos? xD
