  1. If you are looking info about SWTOR i suggest doing it anywhere BUT their official forums, some people are already calling it TORchan.. or just look at news and updates without reading the forums. On topic, i played TOR since launch then i took a brake for about a month or so then came back and now im still playing it. Its a good high quality game with excellent story behind every class. True, once you hit 50 it does get less interesting but there is still lots of things to do. Also make sure you pick the right server because some are completely empty, while some are full for most of the time, making your end game experience better or worse. Yeah i realized as much, the general forums shouldnt be taken seriously, but there are some good posts here and there...usualy i go there just for my dayly dose of lulz (not posting there just reading).
  2. Aion free to play is probably AionEU, im pretty sure because i have been warned by my friends from America, not to go there as it has restrictions on everything. They have met plenty of people from EU, playing on the NA version, saying how bad the european aion is. I played AionNA, no restriction in trading, werehouse or anything, AionNA states it in their news that this is truly a F2P model..oh and the reason why you cant whisper people untill lvl 10 isnt actually an f2p restriction, as far as i know it was done to prevent the currency selling bots spamming chat. EDIT: Also, you have to manualy set your aion launcher to the NA version in the settings and then let the game update, because at default its set either to EU/NA depending on wich country you are in. Oh and sorry for getting off-topic.
  3. Yep, the news page has that annoucement, they went f2p in april as far as i know: http://na.aiononline.com/home?user=eu They also updated to aion 3.0 that has housing, mounts plus other goodies.
  4. I agree with hoofhearted4, for example AionNA has gone also F2P..no restrictions on anything like usualy you see(i tried it out myself) on other mmos that claim to be f2p...but AionEU is a whole other story.
  5. I dont know, but its kind of logical? I mean you have here non tab-targeting real time combat and you dont have a dodge key, does this give you any sense? Do the people at bethesda need another decade to figure out that a simple dodge ability adds a lot to strategy in combat, something, plenty of other games already have? This is just piss-poor design, in my opinion.
  6. Im interested, but not impressed...then again i havent been impressed with anything really for over a decade now, as most of the games use the same old model over and over. If anything it might be worth trying out just for the sake of seeing how they did the locations, but if it is going to be instanced like SWTOR (since it has the same engine, dont know what the limitations are to that), where i read that you have a loading screen everywhere...then no thank you. I say lets wait and see.
  7. I wouldnt like a tab targetting system either, but this doesnt explain why (how long is it now...5-6 years from oblivion?) they didnt made any reall progress after such time...they just step on the same place for a decade now if i count morrowind combat too. Sure there are engine limitiations, but to me this just feels like no progress at all, especially since skyrim is so action oriented.
  8. I been looking at swtor forums for a while now, for some info about the game...i wont proly try it out, but i have to say the forums over there are hilarious...hate and rage everywhere. Tera looks nice, but knowing korean mmos, it sure must be a grindfest as others have pointed out..but then again most mmos are. The only mmo the keeps me interested so far is Archeage with its sandbox style gameplay, but god knows when that will come to european market, as they still are in beta testing as far as i know.
  9. I feel the same, im so tired of fantasy games revolving all the time arround damn humans...
  10. You can get creative in this game, there is no doubt, my problem is simply depth. The most fun i had with was pure healing class, where i was only healing my follower while he was killing everything that moved, the battles were long and hard, but eventually i ended up being bored because there werent any deeper abilities to get. I have PISE, ACE, follower overhaul, deadly dragons, SIM, Wars in skyrim installed...but the combat didnt changed to me, because the core of it is just on basic level. About the poll, i think its up to you, in the end no matter how many people voted and what the results are, you end up doing that, what you will feel is fun.
  11. I just copy/paste what i wrote in the other thread: "This is because the game doesnt have any deeper combat mechanic other then hack&slash or pewpew spells....the combat lacks more interaction and use of special abilities since most of them are just stat changes and everything is only on basic level. Most of the things you see, like block or shield charge are usually core abilties upon other fantasy games expand further, but in skyrim thats where it ends." I tried out plenty of posibilities, from pure mages, assassins, to pure healers where the only person attacking was my follower, to hybrids...the thing i was talking about is simply depth. And also as others said, if you want to rp a certain class you will eventually get bored, because the abilities representing it are all on basic lvl, in skyrim they arent expanded further. Another thing is the AI...its really bad, the only thing that makes an assassin enemy different from a warrior enemy is the name...all of them just charge head-on into battle, therefore the combat isnt challenging as the classes basically dont exist for the npcs and therefore its everytime the same combat. For example putting in a simple ability to dodge would drastically change the combat and if you think about it, the dodge is basicaly another core ability wich is present in most fantasy games, but skyrim doesnt even have that. So this leads me back to the beginning, where i ask myself a question....is the freeform gameplay really that freeform or just created illusion where you think that being able to cast spells or fire bow at anytime makes you free, because once you start to look for depth in these classes, that illusion will crumble. This is ofcourse just my opinion.
  12. Well i said that already in another thread...i dont like it...to me without the kill moves, its basicaly oblivion paper slashing and throwing spells here and there...bethesdas gameplay is still somewhere in the 90's, thats how i feel about it.
  13. I agree with you and thompsonar completely on the fact that the shout cool down time shouldn't be taking away completely from the start. Your idea about the skill tree and leveling up the specific shouts is exactly what many people and I have thought of and it would be fantastic. However the opinion I have which both of you may disagree with is that eventually I feel as though you SHOULD be able to eventually level each shout to the point where they have no cool down time. Before either of you or anyone else disagrees, here me out; I have been playing Skyrim since it's first day of release and have many alts. My main Nord character however is maxed out and is extremely fun to play on, but also extremely cheap. Anyone else who has a maxed out character knows what I'm talking about; nothing is a challenge anymore. Even on master difficulty fighting legendary creatures with the mod enabled, nothing is even close to a match. I kill almost everything in a couple hits with ease. And yet I find the game extremely fun and not at all boring, even with nothing posing a threat. I always go back to it and have a ton of fun. This is EXACTLY the same situation as you're saying will make the game less fun with this unstoppable power. However you've got the wrong idea about what i'm proposing. My idea isn't that all shouts from the gecko have their cool downs removed. What i'm saying is something similar to a skill tree. And also a shout could only be trained to 100% cool down recovery once all the shouts had been collected, at least ensuring that the player has gotten far enough in the main story that he/she is already decently strong. And again you'd have to work at it and it would take extremely long to max out a shout. Being extremely strong with shouts wouldn't effect the amount of fun your game would be if you worked at it, just as being maxed out doesn't effect it either. This is because the game doesnt have any deeper combat mechanic other then hack&slash or pewpew spells....the combat lacks more interaction and use of special abilities since most of them are just stat changes and everything is only on basic level. Most of the things you see, like block or shield charge are usually core abilties upon other fantasy games expand further, but in skyrim thats where it ends. The thing that you look for is probably a mechanic that would represent the dovahkiin more deeper, as in letting you feel really being 'that someone special" everyone is talking about, but without unbalancing the game. The shouts arent really anything amazing and basicaly they arent much different from any other spells you learn. The thing with beths gameplay is that their ideas sound good only on paper but sadly, they are always porly implemented, wich is why no matter how many mods i put in or try different classes i cant shake that feeling being no differen then "that farmer" over there, working on the field. I am probably too critical, but that is how i feel about it. I have the exact same feel as well. It's a lot of swing your sword, swing your sword, block, block, swing, swing, dead. Rinse and repeat. That is why I want the shouts to be more involved in the game play by allowing you to use them in more situations by decreasing the shout time. They are unique in my opinion in their effects. Also the fact that it's a shout and that only the Dovahkhiin can master them quickly and efficiently without years of training. It makes them feel more powerful and important. On another note, it helps to hybrid when you feel the monotony of the hack and slash. Use a couple hacks with a 1h sword, shield bash a couple times, swing with the 2h some more, fus ro dah the enemy/enemies and run back as you're getting out your bow and give them a coupe good shots. Then take out a staff and shoot em a couple time to finish them off. On my hybrid I've hot keyed my best spells, sword, 2h, shield, bow, and staff to make this run smoothly and efficiently, and it's extremely rewarding. The shouts are a good idea, but i agree with you, their involvement should be more...this is the problem of tes freeform gameplay, because the game doesnt push you to use some abilties in certain situations, that way many of them appear useless, but for that the whole npc AI would need to be totaly overhauled, to make the gameplay challening and all abilities usefull. I been trying also hybrid classes, but that didnt lasted long, because as soon as i started to look for a deeper experience there was the "thats where it ends". I really hope in the next Tes they put more work into this.

  15. Yeah the shadows are terribad...but i got used to it..kinda.....my shadows are all at low settings but i have pushed the distance in wich they are shown to really far away...i just hate how washed up the whole game looks without them in the distance.
  16. Except for the little fact that as I said I didn't post any comment... Did any of you read what I said? The mod was made "by Phyber", to "raise awareness", I wanted to post a comment but I couldn't. There was "no abusive language or fighting words". Hope it's clearer now. Well then you should have atleast quoted him or put his post into the " "...hard to tell what is your post and what was his, you know.
  17. I second what kingtitan said, the nexus staff removes posts that have the potentional to turn into a flame/troll war and considering the way you speak about "Bethe$da" as it would be a sin to want to make money, no wonder it was removed.
  18. For me skyrim never was an rpg, but its fun in its own way...i been a lot vocal about how dissapointed i am with the game, but fact is ...im still here and also plenty of other people are still here and that speaks for itself. The only thing that comes to mind is, that we desperately want this game to be something more...if it wouldnt be so, we would have already left long time ago. No matter how many other games are going to be compared to skyrim, fact is...plenty of us will return again...its fun to tinker with mods and the game itself and thats something not many games did to this extent, if at all.
  19. So basicaly you can only apply the smaa trough CCC ?
  20. Yeah i aggree, mmos usually try to show off as much as possible of what they have to offer...considering that we have again the usual "we arent talking about that right now" responses regarding some questions...it could mean there isnt much to offer in terms of new innovative ways, creativity. For example the mounts "we arent talking about that right now" kinda sounds like there arent any mounts in the game and its the usual way of them backing out of the question, but i could be wrong. Yep i was wrong, there are mounts just not flying ones.
  21. Hmm it sounds like the usual mmo type...random event/richer experience will probably be just random fetch/kill quest system like in skyrim. The movement system should be a normal thing for any mmo...im wondering more about the targeting system... it sounds like the typical tab target combat. So far not impressed, but this is just little info we got here...like usually.
  22. Five is a good number :whistling: Well these threads are going to appear so or so..i understand you were surprised by these news and wanted to quickly share the info with everyone, but usually its better to check and join one thread so the info stayes at one place.
  23. Thanks for posting yet another thread about the TES mmo. I propose we start betting how many of these threads are going to appear in the next 24 hours and the winner can take an arrow to the knee.
  24. If it was in the works for 7 years, I highly doubt it will be original. They started at about the time where everybody realized WoW will make tons of money and that everyone should be making another WoW. Imo a TES game without mod support isn't a TES game, and I highly doubt they will go all minecraft on this which would actually be the smartest thing to do. Half of that time was maybe just used to craft all the world models...the npcs...enemies...bosses...w/e...the world is enormous...just making all of this takes a lot of time. Well as i said...we will see...so or so its not going to hurt anyone...you can always make a carefull aproach not to jump on the hype wagon and slowly gather all the info...then decide if it is worth your time or not.
  25. Hmm actually im really happy with how the werewolfs are done in skyrim...in my opinion they dont really need any change. Their look is inspired by a lot of older werewolf movies i say...and that is good...the above picture is nice, but it looks more like a regular overgrown wolf to me.
