  1. What I noticed after a lot of tweaking is that loading time can be a factor (prolly with load order of mods being important as well) For instance with JK's Skyrim I got loads more *random* CTDs, prolly because it could not load everything in time. So whiterun with all its npcs (modded) my machine couldn't load things fast enough for Skyrim to initialise everything.
  2. yzerman19 : that would be realistic room rental http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25029/?
  3. I did some google translatin' and it seems to refer to this MOD : *Link removed* (this mod is hidden on the nexus) There is still a DL though : *Link removed* If the file has been hidden/removed from public access here, then you may not link it either, as the author clearly does not want it distributed - TVD.
  4. If you are using a resource from Skyrim.esm or others, you ALWAYS need to copy and create your own resource for your mod, so yes, use a duplicate. If you overwrite or change base values you can break stuff.
  5. @atznkiller : I don't think you can do multi-add or add from folder in Nexus Mod Manager. it's all pretty fast anyway adding a mod from file. Don't know about MO or others.
  6. My previous (and first) playthrough I had the SKSE file at 300Mb and the save file was 40Mb! I managed to clean it somewhat and got it down to normal by deactivating mods, but the save file was already too unstable. Most experienced modders warn against changing mods mid-game. So now I picked my mods carefully, and then started a new game. Much, much better performance!
  7. Gonna try this here, last ditch attempt otherwise I must create it myself : I am looking for a mod, perhaps a simple spell or dialogue command that makes my follower go to the nearest unowned bed(roll) and sleep. I cannot use AFT in my setup and for RP reasons I just love to give a direct command... If there is an experienced mod author who is willing to mentor me that would be fine as well, I have already started reading/viewing the CK spells tutorials I find...
  8. Great suggestion Isabella... tracking that one for a new playthrough in the future :-)
  9. Depends on what you want...are you in for a castle or just a small bunk out in the field? I am the outdoors type, and I didn't want to live near whiterun. Currently I made Mammoth Manor my home : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52460/? It's out of the way, has many amnities (indoor and outdoor crafting etc.) and an impressive lake view, with fishing, swimming and sauna (all lore friendly and frostfall compatible) There is a second one if I am travelling to the east, it's location is top notch, super secluded, it's the foresters cabin by TaskForce357, for a first mod it's really good: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62006/? I go there after a few quests in the east to restock and replenish. Sometimes I use my home is your home if I need a follower to guard a location.
  10. Immersive Patrols was heavy on my mod setup (I added that and noticed a sluggish behaviour) I also noticed that at some point when Nexus needs to load too much extra's (ie taking a lot of time) , things begin to fail. With JK's skyrim installed things began breaking down as well with freezes and ctds. I am fairly new to Skyrim I must add.
  11. Here are japanese followers : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43093/? For fully voiced ones you might need to create it yourself :-)
  12. Hi everyone, I searched the Nexus & the google for a while. There is no mod I can safely say that can target an NPC and make it go to sleep directly (in a nearby unowned bed) I tried AFT, but unfortunately it is not compatible with my mod set-up. I use EFF&MyHomeisYourHome(2plus version), and this is cool, sometimes NPC go to sleep. But for RP reasons I'd love to have something more direct. There is a script command : target.sleep(bed) but I am too inexperienced to turn that into a spell mod.
  13. Another vote for the HP, I bought a top of the line i7 with radeon (2Gb) a few years ago and the price was good.
  14. Here are a few followers that have a kimono as their clothing set, it's not what first encountered, but maybe it gets you started : http://www.4shared.com/archive/VMZ4XxVZba/GensonFollowers_v11.html (credit : http://bell-genson-skyrim.tumblr.com/page/2)
  15. I thought I saw a japanese follower a few days ago, didn't DL it and now I can't find the link, but try following this link, you should perhaps be able to find something through the japanese mod scene. Japanese Skyrim blog : http://nerune.tumblr.com/page/2 Teaset : http://0ri-suzuka.tumblr.com/post/96969001413/mod GL
  16. PS You could maybe use this just released mod for any kind of fence : http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2528729-arcos-modular-buildingsystem-v-11/
  17. Maybe if you could have cows follow something (I was thinking a dog) and then you give the dog commands, that would be be quite realistic. You could move the herd around while you as PC follow around on horse... In terms of viability thats what I already see in the game. Or maybe a helper (shepherd NPC) . Anyway good luck, this does sound interesting...
  18. I am very new to Skyrim, but I ran across this mod and maybe change it? : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26704/? (convenient herding) to cows. Can cows be given horse AI?
  19. Wow Boombro, another awesome site that went under my radar.
  20. Hi everyone, I am looking to increase the amount of rain that pours done. I saw a couple of videos on youtube with heavy downpour (no source or way to contact video maker) but I seem to have only the odd drop here and there. I currently use Climates of Tamriel which introduced 3D rain. So I am not really looking for 2D rain overlays. Does anyone know a good mod for this?
  21. I just recently started with Skyrim, but Climates of Tamriel comes in different "brightness" versions, very cool. I don't use ENB, but instead went for -- Ultra Realistic World Lighting http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27043/? -- Enhanced Lights and FX http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13049/? -- Imaginator http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12525/? -- Dynavision These mods give you *many* options to tweak the lighting to your liking, without any performance loss.
  22. I am new to Skyrim, but I had a similar problem with some scripts making savegame files HUGE! Check in documents/mygames/skyrim your save file location. Normal save files should be around 10-14Mb, If it's higher it might be because some script is going crazy. I also removed 300 save files to a back up directory. http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/3752-skse-cleans-invalid-scripts-from-old-mods/ Now Skyrim loads in seconds again, rather than a minute or more.
  23. Thanks, I have only dabbled a little with CK, 'just' making a follower. This kind of info would go great into a Wiki. Is there one for CK / modders? I think I want to make a 'dummy' guide to making followers in the future... Natalia's tutorial is not truly complete.
  24. As someone who just 'entered' the world of the Elder Scrolls, things seems to be going from weird to weirder as far as trying to understand conventional things. For instance the stars/sun are actual gaps from the Aedra. Truly nothing is what it seems in Tamriel / Nirn.
  25. I was assuming that Frostfall wouldn't 'count' fast travel, that is quite strange. I havent installed Frostfall yet.... You make good, reasonable points, I hope the creator of the mod is open for suggestions.
