  1. My first char will be a Dunmer Redoran who was born during the Oblivion Crisis and lived through the Fall of Ald'Ruhn, the Empire, the subsequent invasion of Morrowind by the Argonians, and the Destruction of Vvardenfell by the Ministry of Truth. He took part in the Diaspora to Solstiem and then later moved to Skyrim proper . . . What he does there . . . Well, we'll have to wait and see what Skryim holds.
  2. You must be thinking of the Dark Brotherhood mission "Darkness Eternal" It's where you have the option to get bitten by Vincent Valtieri and become a vampire. Link Once you wake up, you get a dialog box that pops up and tells you that you've been bitten by Vincent in the night as you slept.
  3. Boo! Yourself. :D Thanks for the comment.
  4. Seems to me like you're too close to your skeleton . . . And Oblivion has a problem with clipping . . . I just get over it. And I don't think it's OBGEv2. It's just the game itself. Take a step back and you'll be fine.
  5. You need to get 7-zip. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579 It'll open that file.
  6. Have you tried activating the stone? Symbols of Office SI Look here for your answer.
  7. @WastelandAssassin - Do you have Streamline? It could be what's messing with your settings. Make sure you've configured your sl_ini correctly.
  8. Definitely Azura, Sheogorath, and Boethia. But Azura is my most favorite. I just wished they used the same voice actor that they used in Morrowind . . .
  9. *copies template from above* Name: Adrynn Gender: Male Race: Dunmer Sign: The Atronach Class: Swordsman Money: 2,000-5,000 Homes: Imperial City Waterfront Shack, Chedynhal House, Archeology Guild's Castle Allied Guilds: Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild, Thieve's Guild, Blades, Knights of the Nine, Nine Divines, Knights of the Thorn, Knights of the White Stallion, Order of the Dragon, Order of the Virtuous Blood, Archeology Guild, Morag Tong, the remnants of House Redoran. Enemy Guilds: Dark Brotherhood, Necromancers, Blackwood Company, Mythic Dawn, Conjurers, Bandits, Undead, Dremora, Daedra (the wild ones) Combat Preference: Blade and shield. Combat Style: Brutally fast, powerful strikes, and quick counterattacks Physique: Very fit, muscular. His History . . . Adrynn is a noble of House Redoran, but not just any noble. He was mentored by the Nerevarine. The years of training he had put in since the arrival of the Nerevarine to the shores of Vvardenfell had made him the best warrior on the island, second only to the Incarnate. He was the next in line to take the title of Archmaster of House Redoran. When the Nerevarine told him of the upcoming expedition to Akavir, Adrynn wished with all his heart that he would accompany his mentor to those distant shores. He would even pass on his chance to be Archmaster of his House to go. But before he could get an answer, tragedy struck. Trueflame, the Blade of Nerevar, was stolen! Infuriated that someone would have the gall to do such a thing, Adrynn asked the Redoran Council if he could quest for Trueflame, and return it to his mentor. He was given the go ahead. He set out from his home of Ald' Ruhn to seek the one who dared to cross the Nerevarine. He followed the trail of the thief from Ald' Ruhn to Balmora to Vivec to Ebonheart. From there, the trail went cold, but Adrynn didn't give up. He knew the next likely spot the thief would go to would be the city of Mournhold. So he got permission from Duke Dren to travel to Mournhold and seek for the blade there. Once he arrived, he swept the city for information. He was directed to the Museum of Artifacts and told that someone had come in hoping to sell the blade, but was refused. No one would dare do such a thing in Morrowind. Adrynn almost lost all hope till he was told by a High Ordinator that he had seen someone travelling west with a suspicious looking package. With renewed determination, Adrynn thanked the High Ordinator and headed west. To help Adrynn with his journey, the High Ordinator gifted him with his armor and weapon. Shocked by the gift, Adrynn promised he would return it when he came back through. He now headed west. With joy, he found the trail of the thief and followed it with vigor. It led him through the city of Narsis and across the Velothi Mountains into Cyrodiil. He followed the thief's trail till he got near Chedynhal and found the thief's camp. With fire in his eyes, he leaped into the camp, ready to strike down the coward who dared to steal from his mentor. But all he found was the corpse of the thief, his throat neatly slit. Despairing, he searched the body of the thief and the camp but couldn't find Trueflame anywhere. All he found was a small note that read, "You are too late, Redoran. I now have Trueflame and have hidden it far away from prying eyes. May Sithis take you. With helplessness griping his heart, he headed to Cheydinhal. From there, he headed to the Imperial City, sure that someone there would know where he could continue his search. Once he arrived, tired, weary, and still a bit angry, he snapped at someone who bumped into him, who turned out to be a member of the Imperial Watch. He was promptly arrested and imprisoned for verbally abusing a member of the Imperial Guard. (which was somewhat true, he called him a "fetcher" ) His Story So Far . . . After his release from prison by none other than Emperor Uriel Septim VII himself, Adrynn immediately gathered his scattered equipment and learned that the "Sithis" from the thief's note was none other than the god of the Dark Brotherhood. He also learned that to gain access to the Dark Brotherhood, you had to murder someone and then an envoy of Sithis would come to you in your sleep. A bit put off by this (he only kills in self defense) Adrynn came up with a plan. He would attack someone who no one cared about, someone who deserved to die. Such an opportunity arose when he was traveling from the Imperial City to Skingrad. He spotted a highwayman travelling through the bushes and promptly attacked and killed him in one fell swoop. As a chill ran down his spine, he knew he would be visited the next time he slept. As he slept in Skingrad, he was visited by none other than Lucien Lachance. With a cry, he pinned the Listener to the wall of his room and began to question him about the whereabouts of Trueflame. As Lucien sputtered and mumbled his lack of knowledge, Adrynn lost his patience and used a skill taught to him by the Nerevarine. The invasion of one's mind for information. As he slowly and painfully extracted the information from the Listener's mind, he gained other knowledge as well. Knowledge about the inner workings of the Dark Brotherhood. Their weaknesses and pitfalls. When he finally found the information he sought, he promptly snapped Lucien's neck, ridding the world of one more menace. Now, with all the information he had newly gained, he headed off to find Trueflame. It was a long and dangerous quest, but he found it with little fuss and then used it to systematically destroy the Dark Brotherhood. But, before he could return to his home in Morrowind, the Daedric Invasion of Tamriel began, keeping him stuck in Cyrodiil when all he wanted was to be home, defending his House and people. When the news of the Fall of Ald' Ruhn reached his ears, he wept, sorry that he couldn't be there to defend his home. That awoke the rage of a thousand generations inside him and his Redoran spirit flared in fury. He continues to close any and all Oblivion Gates he finds, slaughtering all Daedra he finds . . . Well, sorry for the long-windedness of it, but I think it shows how much history I have for Adrynn.
  10. I suggest you run TES4LODGen to restore the walls to the Imperial City. You can get it here.
  11. I know this is probably off topic, but I had an idea from reading Vagrant's post . . . What if the PC is the Nerevarine coming back from Akavir? Just a thought, and an exciting one, but what do you guys think?
  12. Ah, damn! Sorry about that. Here is the real link. Vvardenfell Imports
  13. Macaquinho, use the Archive Invalidation in OBMM. It's under Utilities>Archive Invalidation.
  14. Yes, you can. Vvardenfell Imports With this mod. Along with other Morrowind Armors.
  15. @dcgames, FCOM is FCOM: Covergence, just shortened. @machaquinho OOO+MMM Instillation Guide. Use this if you don't want FCOM. It's what I use and the steps involved are easy to follow. All you have to do is read them, follow them, install everything, then play. It's that simple.
  16. Well, if you were going to use OOO and Fran's Leveled lists together, You'd need to get FCOM here It allows you to play OOO,MMM, Fran's, and Warcry all at once. FCOM Instillation Guide Use this to install FCOM. It has easy to follow steps and is very detailed. Oh, and it's all personal preference. I just use OOO+MMM, but FCOM is good as well.
  17. Any mods made by a third party is for the pc only. No xbox or ps3 mods . . . Sorry.
  18. Hahaha. It's well worth the wait, dcgames. I waited four years to get Oblivion. And I still love playing. (to get back on topic) One of my biggest fights that made me run like crazy was against the Werewolves in the Lost Paladins of the Divines mod. That was tough. I died like 20 times fighting my way through that ruin. They would pop out of no where too, and scare the living crap out of me. It probably didn't help I was level five going in either . . . But, the reward at the end was worth it. Though now a days I use the High Indoril armor from Vvardenfell Imports. ;D
  19. Have you looked at a local Wal-mart or GameStop? (this is me assuming you live in the States) I found mine there for $20.
  20. Ha! I did that the first time I played Oblivion. I was greedy for the power of the Umbra sword and I quickly found out how devastating her attacks are. Three hits and I was dead. But, I've found out that waiting until you are her level (which is level 50) and going after Umbra then is satisfying. It's still a hard fight, but it's well worth it.
  21. What he is talking about is the Official DLCs, like Fighter's Stronghold, Frostcraig Spire, Mehrune's Razor, Spell Tomes and the like. Those are some of the Official DLCs. The Oblivion GOTY comes with Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, so you don't have to worry about getting those. And yes, the game itself comes on two disks. You install them one right after the other and play with the first. Just follow these simple tips when you go to install your game. 1. Install it outside of the Program Files folder. The default install is C:/Program Files (x86)/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion. Install it in say C:/My Games/Oblivion. That way you get around the UAC and you don't have to keep it turned off. 2. Make sure to defrag your hard drive after you install Oblivion. That way you don't have the game stuttering on you. I don't like or care for the default Windows Disk Defrag. Go with Auslogics Disk Degfrag. It can defrag your hard drive in a fraction of the time it takes the Windows one to do. 3. Before you go crazy with installing mods, I suggest you take the time to do one playthrough without any mods. That way you can see what you like about the vanilla game and what you would want to change. And also to get your graphical settings set up. 4. Also, once you start downloading mods and installing them, do not, I repeat, DO NOT batch install mods. That means installing a ton of mods at once and hoping that they work correctly. That's a bad thing to think. Because they won't do that. Instead, install mods one at a time. Make sure it works before you go to install another mod. This will save you a ton of time and headaches. And always defrag your hard drive after a large install. 5. There are a ton of mods out there for you to pick. I suggest starting small and then working your way up. Learn to install mods manually first. OBMM and Wrye Bash are great tools to use, but if you don't know how to install and remove mods manually, you could very well ruin your game. Well, this is all the advice I have to give right now. I've learned this is the best way to go when starting Oblivion. Hope you'll take the time and follow these tidbits of advice.
  22. Mephy, I totally agree with Naomis on this. It's Dragonborn. Not "Dragonbone". Sorry, but I don't see how that could be a cool title for a hero. http://www.uesp.net/ Directly from uesp.net "In their tongue, he is Dovahkiin. Dragon Born!" I rest my case on this.
  23. You can definitely run Oblivion. Just fine. Well, since you have Windows 7, make sure to install outside of the default directory. The UAC can be a real pain. But Happy Gaming. If you need any good mod suggestions, just ask. ;D
  24. dcgames, the GOTY edition of Oblivion has all of the patches you need. Just install the first disk, then the second one, and you're good to go. One bit of advice though. If you are running Vista or Windows 7, I suggest installing the game elsewhere other than the default directory. (which is C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion) I suggest C:/My Games/Oblivion. That way you get around the UAC and won't have any problems. Just make sure your system can handle the game though.
  25. The chat is down again . . . It's been buggy all day. I keep trying to get in, but I get this error. --> [#CJOIN-0] There was an error connecting with the chat room. Please notify an administrator. I hope this gets fixed soon.
