  1. I had one of my characters marry Sanguine with a little help from the console, Maramal didn't seem to mind having the prince of hedonism in his temple :D I also have one char who is a werewolf and as such has a certain love/hate relationship towards Hircine. I've never cared much for the divines, they just tend to idly sit there... Daedra worship is so much more rewarding! I've always had respect for Azura and to some extent Meridia... In Oblivion I made some quite monstrous characters who lived in moist, pitch-black caves and worshiped Namira... Maybe I'll revert to that when I get to play with the CK and make some really creepy characters
  2. The quest journal says he was "cast forward in time", whether he was frozen in place or conscious during his travel through time is debatable, but he certainly was not in any other "realm" at least not in the usual sense of the word.
  3. I was totally expecting this thread to be about MLP, turned that way with the first reply... op was asking for it :D
  4. Probably talking about mods like the one that turns dragons into Randy Savage or some other s*** no one cares about.
  5. Without CK, doubtful... But with the CK it should be possible to make a mod that switches the staff from magic mode to bludgeoning mode, most likely by switching the actual item when you push a button.... damn I wish we had it already! :wallbash:
  6. I may be totally wrong, but to me it seems that Beth copied the gun system from Fallout (NV?) and tweaked it for use with spells, hence only predefined spells and no spellmaking. In essence when you equip a spell you're equipping a "gun". This should allow for easy integration of guns to the game, not that I'm particularly fond of the idea.
  7. There's no possibility of scripting or making quests and dialogue without the CK, creating dungeons or new areas is almost impossible, making NPC:s navigate them is impossible afaik, changing NPC AI behavior is impossible...... just to name a few. All of these and much more is a piece of cake with the CK, so we wait. Modding is supposed to be fun, not 24/7 slave-labor with crappy tools :/
  8. This should be fairly easy to fix when we get the CK, just batch-replace existing torches and candles in dungeons with unlit ones that the player can light, manually remove or change lights from the dungeons... it's a fair bit of work but totally doable, certainly something that would increase realism and create unique atmospheres...
  9. Are we confusing printing resolution (as in pixels/inch) with image-size here? When we talk about resolution in terms of games and textures image-size is obviously the one we're talking about. As you said, it won't do a thing if one ups the printing res because one is not printing the image, it's the size of the image that matters. :)
  10. Yes, size is what matters. You often see mods up the resolution of some really tiny items like coins, it sure looks really nice up close but that's it, waste of memory and whatnot. Large objects like houses and such will need to have much larger textures as well in order to have the same detail, it's quite logical when you think about it.
  11. Here's a few of my chars: Bura gra-Pula - Orc/F Lost her real parents at an infant age, a nord couple discovered her in the snow and raised her as their own. Bura could never fit into nord society, being an orc and all. At an adult age she tried life in orc strongholds and was even able to trace where her parents came from, but she felt equally alienated amongst her own kind. Being a misfit for most of her life, Bura had to buy her friends. She dreamt not of great battles, honor or glory but of piles of gold, jewelry and fine clothes. As a businesswoman, making a name for oneself and being an orc at the same time can be a challenge in Skyrim, unsurprisingly Bura resorted to trading in contraband. She was arrested trying to smuggle unusually large quantities of skooma over the border. Annarud - Nord/F Annarud became a werewolf at an early age, an unfortunate event that cost her mother's life. Seeing what his daughter had become, Annarud's father took her to a remote cabin in the backwoods. Far from society, Annarud was taught the use of a hunting bow, the skills of skinning animals and finding medicinal herbs... Over time she gained better control of her transformations and her need to kill could be satisfied by traditional means; hunting with bow and arrow, which she became quite good at. Making longer and longer hunting trips, Annarud was eventually caught poaching and found herself in the same wagon with Ulfric Stormcloak.
  12. I also consider it fair to use a little console to get the person you want, all's fair in love and war after all! My orc character ended up marrying the daedric prince Sanguine, she just loves it when he calls her his "favorite drinking buddy" :D They have fun times together, and as a bonus he's very rich and powerful...
  13. The reason those NPC:s aren't married yet is because they're so ugly/old that nobody wants them! Especially the men you can marry are... well, not too handsome. Everything was fine when I was playing a male dunmer, married Brelyna Maryon, not pretty at all but she had a nice voice. Then I started playing a nord female, big mistake. Seriously, these Skyrim men look like something that crawled from under a rock... Half of them are swords for hire, the rest are bald, wrinkly elderly men and/or alcoholics. Seriously?
  14. I was disappointed by the Sven-Faendal-Camilla triangle, it felt like options were missing... Camilla would've been better of without either of those morons :D Bethesda always hypes up games with great promises that end up being cut from the final product, fortunately we have modders!
  15. I didn't even notice. Apparently people don't get involved in quests enough to remember them, so they want to read in their journal that they've "spoken to X who has asked them to help them with Y by talking/getting/killing Z" and not just "Get Z"
  16. I haven't seen any tutorials, but as we don't have the CK yet making houses is extremely tedious and time consuming, and prone to create bugs... also you can't even make houses that NPC:s can navigate. Basically it involves a lot of copying, and numbers. Google "Mod interview with Shawkab"
  17. I guarantee you that I most definitely WILL NOT be doing any of the most wanted mods once the CK comes out, at least not on purpose. Some modders like to do what is in demand, but most of us just want to do things we like to do or things we need ourselves. Modding is supposed to be fun
  18. give them armor manually via the console? refID.additem itemID 1 I think the armor would be on this list: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Specialty_Gear#Thieves_Guild_Armor UESP also lists the members and their refIDs http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thieves_Guild_%28faction%29 or you can just click on them while in console mode
  19. setgs fjumpheightmin xxx where xxx is a number, default is 76 setgs fJumpFallHeightMult xxx modifies fall damage, 0.1 is default, 0.01 works well with high jumps.
  20. 1. Getting immersed, I look at descriptions and screenshots and download when I see something that interests me. 2. Couldn't care less about bosses, I generally detest bosses when they don't make sense, having bosses for the sake of having bosses (It's one thing to go into a villain's lair and fight him/her at the end than go to a random cave and fight a huge mudcrab or whatever in the end) 3. It depends, I dislike short quests. 4. idk 5. Yes 6. Puzzles, but not the snake-hawk-whale -stones for heavens sake!
  21. One should never touch Skyrim.esm, why on earth would you even need to do that? You only need master files if you want to mod a mod, make plugins or whatever, and even then you would use your own .esm, not the originals. But yes, tools exist for that, not sure if they are working on the new files though.
  22. Usually when people don't get the marriage dialogue it's because they haven't talked to Maramal...
  23. Do you mind being a bit more specific? I recall having a weird texture glitch in Fallout 3, when textures would leak from one mesh to another, only happened a few times and always in an interior space... never found out the cause.
  24. Throttlekitty made a nif.xml which allows you to open most skyrim .nif's in nifskope, but you can't edit/save or do anything else really than see them, I used it to export an .obj which I them imported to Blender, strictly for texturing purposes of course, not for editing. Just wait for it :)
