  1. Not only way too many mods, but also watch the bash tags ... if you don't have the needed DLC ... crash city
  2. I assume you are correct. I will try your fix. Thank you for your input
  3. Being frustrated and wanting to do something i tried an experiment. I pulled the original texture out of the bsa. I opened in GIMP, saved it without changes as a DTX5 w/mipmaps. I did NOT change the alpha channel. I then pointed my NIF at it. I then pointed to the vanilla normal map and glow map. Guess What ... yep a shiny helmet. So base texture could definately the problem. I think something GIMP may be doing is the problem. Comments? ... Did anyone have a chance to check the texture files yet?
  4. Games Crashes ... New Vegas.... you have got to be trying to joke with me , right?...............
  5. I am not familiar with GECK if that's what your asking. Most of the companions on this site have an option like "You're Fired." and then that companion will be in Sandbox mode. Lol, I'm lucky to have a pretty nice setup, and I don't run on very high quality so that helps! Thanks for your interest! This is very weird, especially if it continues on re-installations. =( No Nothing to do with GECK. In the dialogues with your companions you can set their aggression and even on some ask them to guard an area. The more agressive they are, or if they are gaurding their weapons may be drawn.
  6. How did you solve your graphics problem?
  7. Specifically even thoug you stopped using the flamer, the game has to finish the sound file associated with it. When you start another burst to close together the sileced first sound file will finish not allowing the second instance to start. This was done, so I have heard, to avoid the once a flamer is used and a second instance started the sound file kept going for ever glitch in FO3
  8. Is everything else off just a bit too, or just the game? if so then it is a monitor adjustment. That will be specific to your monitor.
  9. So you have lowered the game graphics to low, and this didn't help? You adjusted the sliders to the left and that didn't help? ... Have you tried turning off all other programs you can running in the background in order to give the game more resources to work with? I use the same graphics card on a four year old machine and i do OK FPS wise. A little laggy sometimes but not much. This really looks like a resource problem. Have you optimized your machine for game playing? Tweak Companion is a good guide to use. I have not seen one yet specific to FNV, but his general guide and the FO3 guide both are helpful. Since FNV and FO3 use the same engine the FO3 guide could help a lot.
  10. Forty Companions? DANG .... My game gets shaky after about 18, But I don't have your problem either. Have you checked aggression levels? Do you have them guarding? ... ahhhh .... nope can't think of anything else to check.
  11. Thank you Luthienanarion. I do think Nadimos is just a little confused. He doesn't know that only part of one message appears in this topic to start with. He didn't understand that what we saw was just gibberish. EDIT: There was a lot more to this post and it just disappeared .... Nadimos, try forcing your texture in the GECK by, 1. Creating a texture pack, 2. Opening your item and clicking on the model 3Change the alternative textures to your texture pack. This had helped me with certain items. BTW; Usted habla EspaƱol?
  12. Left to decrease right to increase. Generally speaking left takes less resources right takes more.
  13. When you do that load one or two at a time and check for conflicts. If you load a bunch at once that becomes a real hassle
  14. You know ... to be honest that may still be the problem. Here is a zip file of the textures. Sorry the site wouldn't allow me to send multiple files. I'll try again with the zip
  15. You know ... to be honest that may still be the problem. Here is a zip file of the textures. I also soved the texture ripping problem, not a method I am particularly found of, but what works works. I made a texture pack of the textures in GECK. Then forced them on the game engine as alternate textures. As far as I am concerned they should have shown up in GECK without the forcing of textures that way. So now at least I can show the shiny plastic helmet problem.
  16. Red hat band would have been better
  17. I have read the entire topic and have one question. Did the Report feature ever get fixed right?
  18. Do you know how to use the regedit feature in the windows OS? If not it is a dangerous prospect. Open the start button and choose "run". Type in regedit. click on the "edit" menu and then "find" Type in "FOMM" and delete the obviously connected entry. Press F3 for the next entry and delete it. Do this till it says "Finished searching through Registry" Close regedit. Be very careful not to delete anything that may not be FOMM related. You will have to re-install FOMM for FO3 also if you have it installed. Good hunting
  19. Yeah Yeah Yeah I know that. On the way to the outpost now but stopped along the way TO FIX TEXTURES DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!! Sorry I lost the load for a second. I am a bit OCD about my mods. I cant seem to get back into the game without fixing what used to work perfectly well.
  20. Will do No reply from Kaya47 yet, but now things are worse .... the textures should be darkened, smoothed and contrasted versions of vanilla veteran ranger armor. The beret is a re-textured red beret with a navy seals emblem. The beret is now shiney and look at the armor. Who knows what texture They are... And the helmet a glowing red mass of who knows what.
  21. We need to know more about your problem. What machine do you have (Processor)(memory)? what OS? What graphics card? How many mods are you trying to load?
  22. You point to the files in the model Hat.nif for example. You will need a program called NifScope to do it. Once you have the program installed respond here and someone will help with the actual model.
  23. I tried disabling certain mods and starting again. I tried a different load order, no luck. It just started doing this when I picked up Cass and was doing that quest marker to go find the Griffif Sacked Caravan. Everytime I get close to it, the game CTD. I don't have anything occupying the cells in that area, nothing has changed. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. I have FNVEdit but I don't even know where to begin with that. Again ... disable ALL mods and add one or two at a time. It may be a mod that you don't think has anything to do with the area you are having problems with.
