Quite dumb how much drama happens on this site, good mod authors getting banned etc. Do they even have chances to remove illegal content and then be on there merry way? -
Okay, so heres the deal. There is a doctor named Dr. Hernandez in this mod right here http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55089/? who resides at New Dayglow camp. My character arrived there addicted to drugs and hurt badly, in need of a doctor, and seeked to find one once he realized it was a followers of the apocolypse camp. However, it seems that the mod author did not make Dr. Hernandez an actual doctor, as in, he has NO doctor services at all. Could somebody please walk me through the steps i need to take to allow him to heal addictions, radiation, and health status? I have never ever used the GECK before, but i do know my way around TES5EDIT/FNVEDIT/FO3EDIT/TESEDIT. I tried copying all sorts of properties from doctors in the vanilla game in fnvedit to Dr. Hernandez, such as the doctor class, doctor dialogue, and even npc specific scripts. Nothing seems to be working. Can somebody please give me some helpful advice here? Maybe download the mod, find the Dr. Hernandez entry and tell me what i need to do to it to actually make him a functional doctor? Help would be GREATLY appreciated, as i don't really feel comfortable continuing my save game until i can get this fixed. I'm willing to use the GECK if its what i must use, and can't use fnvedit to make the changes, as long as somebody tells me what i need to do in it, and how.. Or someone could upload a modified version of the mod privately with the modified Dr. Hernandez and send it to me? Either way. Thanks. P.S. i do run project nevada, don't know if it makes a difference.

Well i just ended up going to a different doctor, and she was able to cure it. Maybe i'll mess around with fnvedit and try to see if i can fix that guy (Dr.Kemp) to let him cure addictions etc. And, oh really? Well i guess its time to use Mil's big weapon pack and ditch all the individual plugins. Can having too many plugins mess up a savegame? Aka am i already screwed or can i fix it?

Ah, okay, it turns out it was my Bashed Patch that was causing it, i fixed that now. But...WHY WON'T THE DOC CURE MY ADDICTION?!?! this has happened before and its extremely annoying, but before he eventually got it cured and i just gave myself the caps that i wasted in the console, but this time theres no way hes curing it....How do i fix this :(((((

So i went to see the doctor in camp mccarren, to cure my addiction (i THINK its a steady addiction but i'm not sure), he took my caps, and then i realized he didnt actually cure it. and he took my caps again, and again, and again, still didn't cure it. So i decided to check my pipboy to see which addiction it is so i could maybe cure it with a console command, and i noticed something very disturbing, i can't see any status effects whatsoever! not from my addiction, not from my equipment...so i figured, maybe this save game is bugged. well, i wen't back dozens and dozens of hours, and nope, i couldnt see my status effects in that savegame either! I have no freakin clue what could be causing this, there is nothing at all that i could have changed in my mods to make this happen...has this happened to anyone else? What could have caused it? How do i fix this? Is this anything i should worry about in regards to mods doing funny things with my game though? Cause everyone has seen mammoths spawning in the sky at a distance, even in vanilla. Never in my years would i have thought this could happen though!

Yeah, you guys have all heard about flying mammoths before, but get a load of this. Loaded a savegame from just after i killed the dragon at kynesgrove, when suddenly, 5 or so dead mammoths just fell from the f***ing sky right in front of me and piled on top of eachother. WTF BETHESDA?!?!?!

What really needs to be made is a SkyProc patcher that automatically takes all your weapons, scans the meshes, and assigns custom length and speed values (based on weight?) to make combat more diverse and really give weapons a more unique feel and use. Of course, the length values would be based on the length of the mesh. Speed based on weight.- 3 replies

Running 1.34c as well, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10175/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D10175&pUp=1 Optional files section, yeah. Weird about riverwood though, i dont seem to get any problem like that around there, but who knows, i may eventually. I'm only level 6 at the moment. My guess about your freezes around riverwood - theres some mod, or some combination of mods whos scripts are just entirely bugging out and causing that massive freeze...could be SkyTEST...could be some random MCM mod... i dunno. Whats your processor? -

Ah thanks...so i don't have a leveled npc's entry, is that alright? Also i have a weapons entry, and i use skyre...should i still include that? I see on some weapons, in the merged patch its giving it two material entries i.e. the nightingale bow has the material ebony, AND daedric...daedric being from the update.esm/dlc/unofficial patches (i forget which one) and ebony being from skyre...in skyre it doesnt list the bow as having the material daedric. is any of this stuff i need to worry about? -

Sorry for spreading false information, this is what i was told by Sharlikran in his videos, there are no subsitutes for a bashed patch, and you should be using BOTH...but now i know not to include skyproc patches in the merged patch, which is good news...How do i delete the leveled lists from the merged patch? I mean i know i do it with tes5edit and open up the file, but which section do i just entirely delete? Also do i still need to do that even if i put the merged patch before the bashed patch? -

No, merged patches and bashed patches are completely different. while im not as familiar on what a merged patch exactly does as i am with a bashed patch, bashed patches are absolutely required if you are running more than one mod that adds items to the leveled lists, because a bashed patch merges leveled lists automatically. Merged patches dont do that, so you need both. Honestly what i really need to know is: do i put the merged patch at the bottom, or before the bashed patch? i know im not supposed to import the bashed patch into the merged patch, so does that also mean i dont import any mods that come after the bashed patch as well (such as the reproccer, etc)? -
So, i consider myself a veteran mod user, i know most of the do's and don't's of modding, i know how to use boss to sort my load order, as well as make educated guesses on where to put mods in a load order that dont get auto sorted by boss. I also know how to make bashed patches, and configure mods like t3nd0's skyre reproccer, and ASIS to work with my particular combination of mods. There is one thing i have never really delved into before though. Merged Patches. Now, i understand how to clean mods in tes5edit, and all my mods are cleaned, so now that thats all out of the way... I need an advanced user to tell me this: I know i am not supposed to select my bashed patch when loading mods into tes5edit to make a merged patch, and from what i have heard, you are supposed to put your merged patch above your bashed patch, correct? If that is true, does that mean i also shouldnt load any of the mods that come after the bashed patch (e.g. skyproc patches like ASIS and the reproccer) into the merged patch? In addition to those questions, once i create my merged patch, when i rebuild my bashed patch in the future, does the merged patch get integrated into the bashed patch and/or is there any extra step i should do regarding getting the merged patch to work well with the bashed patch? No, i have it turned off because i know it can cause instability...i instead use streamsave from streamline, with 40 or so save slots, have it autosave after resting/waiting, going through load doors etc, and after combat. In addition to that i have it save every 15 minutes. Only reason i do this is because it crashes so randomly, i need to make sure im losing as little progress as possible. -

Yep, i already use Windom Earl'es Crash Prevention System...hahah.. And as for the Oblivion priority thing...first you need to download something called "Prio" http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.html This lets you set a priority for ANY .exe in the task manager and it will stay that way and automatically apply that each time you launch that program. And yeah, when you start with the obse loader, two things open in the tast manager... obse_loader.exe and oblivion.exe. Oblivion.exe is what you want to right click and set the priority to high on, to do this you just have to open up the game, alt tab out and set it. Of course going back to the game will give a black screen and you will have to force close it. But thats how you set it, and from then on you just need to start the game and boom. I'm actually not sure how beneficial (or how harmful) this is to a heavily modded oblivion, but its worth a try and its why i do it. I wonder if setting the priority to high in obse_loader.exe would improve performance...if its the process that obse scripts run though, then maybe setting it to high would reduce crashes...who knows. Theres pretty much never any cpu usage and barely any memory usage coming from it though, so i never thought about it. -

Oh believe me, i already know this stuff...ive got streamline, stutter remover, the 4gb patch, cpu priority set to high, and yes, i have 64 bit win 7. And i know the crashes aren't mod conflicts, because they don't reoccur, they are just random. Could upgrading to a more powerful cpu help reduce these entirely RANDOM crashes? -
Okay so first off, this could have gone in the normal oblivion support area, but as this place seems to be visited more, and this forum also includes 'mod talk', i figured it would still be appropriate. So i have lots of mods. LOTS of mods. FCOM, Better Cities, Better Dungeons, Unique Landscapes, Reclaim Sancre Tor, Kragnirs death quest, the aylied steps, supreme magica, LAME, deadly reflex 5, Dynamic Leveled Lists, lots of other little mods like cliff's better notes, etc, some more quest mods. Of course, sometimes the game crashes. I also get down to 7 fps in certain areas in certain cities, with Better Cities. I have an i3 3220 3.3ghz, paired with a 560ti 448 core. Now i know my cpu is the bottleneck because i have tons of neat graphical things turned on with OBGE, and when im down to 7fps, turning those off doesnt raise it. So my question is... Would purchasing an i5 3570k, and overclocking it to 4.0ghz or 4.5ghz turn that 7 fps into say, 15 maybe? And the most important question: WOULD having a more powerful cpu reduce crashes related to just having a largely modded game? Such as crashing when going through a load door after X amount of time of playing, completely random crashes when roaming the wilderness, things like that. (i pretty much never get a repeated crash because i try to make my game as compatible as possible). I would greatly appreciate your input/replies. Thanks.
