  1. Check my sig :) I've been modding for maybe a week or so.. mainly texturing and a tiny bit of modelling.... but the articles linked in my sig really helped me along! (that's why i put them in there :P) I know it's a link to the FO3nexus, but FNV and FO3 are pretty much the same thing  Hope it helps :) PS. Scripting falls under the "General" catogorie :)
  2. I just need to let it out: ARGH! :pinch: the headphones are a nightmare XD a fun nightmare though.. but still a nightmare :P But i must say its a gorgeous model :D every now and then i tend to stick my head against the screen in the hope it jumps onto my head  Right now i'm pretty satisfied with the remapping of the UV-map. and going to give the actual texturing a shot :) And dont worry, as soon as i got some pretty pics they'll be posted  Edit: Pretty pics!! Earpads almost done! http://i54.tinypic.com/2i1kor8.png
  3. I think i've got a non-torn nif roaming about on my pc :) Hang on for a min while i find it :P Edit: Gotcha!
  4. Now if only someone with a high charisma and high speech skill could convince the author of this baby to let us use if for Fallout.. All we'd need to do is animate it and skin it :P (which probably won't be easy given the huge amount of vertices.. )
  5. Yeah, i saw that demonstration yesterday :) but somehow i remain a bit sceptical about their claims.. Still, if they can build a game on this and show that off at a gaming convention, they will definitely make other developers look stupid. So , like i said, i'm a bit skeptical about it. But also damned curious! :P
  6. Well.. i do know there's already something similar to a slingshot in the Files (note: in the game files.. Not ingame): The dart gun It's a weapon from Fallout 3 that, as far as i know, isnt used in Fallout nv. But this doesnt mean you cant obtain the scematics or the gun. Using the player.additem command you can spawn the gun or the scematics. But a mod to add an actual slingshot.. not sure. (simple net search didnt yield much results :( )
  7. To edit textures i personally use Gimp, in combination with it's DDS plugin ofourse :) But there is also a plugin for photoshop that does the same.. But since Fallout has a sort of master-archive (.BSA files) where i stores the DDC-files, you'll need a programm to extract them. This can be done using a built-in function of the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM), or with a seperate program (BSA commander or FO3Archive) Unless you're going to personalise a mod-file (yeah like readius, forgot about that whilst writing the above :P) Hope this helps you out a bit :)
  8. Meh haz skillz  Allright.. allright.. i got a lucky hit on google :) There's entire articles on the FO3nexus on modding textures, models.. you name it! So i'd say kudos to the people who wrote those articles  (and the link those pages is definitely going to end up in my sig :P )
  9. You sir, are awesome! If the entire setting for your "DLC" will look like that, i might actually spend less time in skyrim, and more in fallout! :D
  10. Here's another example of a mod that adds enhancements to armor (in this case the stealth suit mkII) I really like the idea of more armortypes being enhanced :) Combat helmet with hardened enhancement- helmet gets slightly bigger but higher DT Or Brahmin skin outfit with studded soles- Gives a +2 agl instead of +1 agl Or Metal armor with molded sheetmetal- removes the -1 agl penalty But i can imagine this taking some massive effort to get it to work. (new meshes for every enhancement, new textures, etc. and then there's compatibility with other mods..) If anyone is able to pull this off, he/she is going to be swimming in kudos very fast :P
  11. Is there still need for a "non torn" painting/frame? :) I kinda used it to practice my skill in Blender :P Edit: Meh, next time i'll take a look at the mod page first before posting :whistling: Still, i'm now one step closer to understanding blender :teehee: The mod sounds really awesome though!
  12. FOMM - Fallout mod manager NVSE - New Vegas script extender If the FOMM Archive invalidation doesnt work try New vegas AII And if you want to smoothen the game a bit, try Better game performance And in addition to these, you obviously have to meet the requirements that the mod of your choice has:P
  13. Glad you all like my first ever attempt to add glow maps  Hoping to do these things a lot more in the future :)
  14. Depends on the skills you expect from a Texture artist. I'm definitely no artist, but i do know my way around textures in fallout NV  (im more adept at modifying existing textures or somewhat bashing them together than i am at creating them from scratch. ) Edit: i know i originally posted this a while ago, but my opinion remains unchanged: Still willing, if judged able enough :) This is actually something im trying to find out currently, as i've got plenty of gun concepts (example) i'd like to realise :) Though it has proven pretty though so far, and with little succes.
  15. Ninja-posting-reflexes! :ninja: ;)
  16. Voila! I might actually learn to mod this stuff one day! Hope you like it
  17. Near the bottom of the file should be a line that says something similar to: "error:......" or "crash:......" Where the dots represent the cause of the error. Or, if you wont mind me having a look at it, you could upload it here as an attachment. I've played that game a lot a while ago. even modded it. so maybe my memory will serve me and help locate the problem :)
  18. How about checking "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_>Username< .log"? Open the file, scroll all the way down. It should give some sort of description as to why keeps hanging.
  19. Lets give it a go shall we? :) Check again in about 12 20 mins or so  Edit: Wrapping it up now :) Should be here as an attachment in 10 mins :D
  20. My best guess would be to remove your user.ltx located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\User.ltx" and then trying to start again. (This file stores all your game settings: graphics, audio, controls, etc..) this will force your computer to re-detect your hardware, and thus your new graphics card. This solved a similar problem for me a while ago. You can also just rename user.ltx to anything else like "OLDUser.ltx". this will have the same effect as deleting it, but if it doesn't work you can simply rename it back to "user.ltx". Hope this helps :)
  21. Your welcome :) This is my first mod that goes beyond a re-texture, so of you run into any bugs, let me know.
  22. Link to ChesterFreeman's other topic concerning the exact same question. Including answer
  23. The text Looks like darnified UI for NV And the item sorting using "GUNS:......." , "EXPL:............." could be Project nevada (They had a sorting system like that included) So the thing's you're refereing to actualy have nothing to do with the pipboy  Hope this helps ;)
  24. I could try a retexture, but wouldn't have a clue as to how to get it ingame other than a texture that replaces ALL NCR Ranger pat. armor with the black one. :ermm: (and maybe, just maybe, if i'm lucky, through console commands as a unique armor - in appearance) But, if that's not a problem to you, lemme know :P Latest edit: Right, So i've managed to figure out how all this stuff works. If any of you guys would like to let me know if this is still wanted, ill get my hands dirty and cook up some armor for you  (black, desert, snow and urban camo  ) I'd like to know one more thing though: Should it be a unique armor that can only be found in 1 place, or armor thats being used by the NCR npc's which you'll have to loot? (or both?) ----------------------------------- Been messing around for a bit with a black version. Any opinions? http://i51.tinypic.com/2uz4jo6.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/2cq1k6d.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/2zpujgh.jpg
  25. I've added an Fomod-ready archive to this message that contains an ESP and a texture replacer. This will give the cowl blue glowing eyes and replace the green nightvision effect with the blue cat-eye effect. Just drag and drop into your data folder or use the FOMM pachage manage to add it as an fomod. (will require both fallout NV and OWB DLC) Have fun ;) Edit: Now with attachment: And: Everybody loves screenshots! http://i53.tinypic.com/2ppm3iv.jpg
