  1. Mean son of a *censored*...? Isn't that the name of a camel? Same as 'You Bastard' and 'Nasty Prick' and such?
  2. There's already a completely unarmed damage bonus (50%?) perk...
  3. ROFLOL! I'm sorry, but when I started reading the OP I had exactly the same thought about turing off the monitor - I can't imagine a sighted guy playing a blind person without really turning off the visual ques that you will get. Still chuckling at this response.
  4. Search for, I think, the Plastic Trees mod for an android.
  5. I could be wrong, just a tad on the side of him saying 'SCAR-H'... something about the topic makes me think that... not sure why...?
  6. Gotta agree with that, I thought exactly the same about the modern backpacks. Someone did a Legion slave backpack, but it justs looks to silly for a combat charcater to be fighting with or sneaking about in... I hope someone takes this on.
  7. I think one (if not all) of the sandbox or idle (probably the idle where they smoke, scratch, flip the bird, etc.) mods gives you the generic banter if that helps? I have the Charsima based followers mod and a sandbox or idle mods that Wayne put me onto and found that they will sometimes just talk to each other about Primm having a new sheriff and that it will keep the Powder gangers away, or discussing about hearing that someone went into the Luck 38 - which is odd because it was them! That sort of thing. Of course it would be nice if they said how nice each other looked in that armour, or what a good shot you made in our fight, etc. :whistling: I found it strange that they never conversed with each other, but the thing that really annoyed me the most was the standing about like morons - that was when Wayne posted the links in response to my question (can't recall which ones sorry) which I was happy with. And the occasional generic banter, was a nice surprise too.
  8. I read a similar request a few days back, the response was that someone has done it, but it results in the dismembered extremity floating wierdly a few feet away from the victim. Apparently the lost limb can't be removed because of how the whole body animation thing works and therefore looks pretty farked...
  9. I've wondered about that? Even Duke Nukem had mirrors so he could tell himself how handsome he was.
  10. I'd have to disagree only because it doesn't take complicated tactics to get through. Using light armor with weapons holstered I'll pop a turbo or two and run along the parallel to the walls. I can do it without the turbo but damage is much more likely and it beats having to wait out the barrages before moving. It bothers me that you can't just stealth through using a stealth field like a stealth boy (that's a game breaker considering the stealth tactic and there's no mention of the boomers having IF/Heatseeking targeting assistance from anything.) but that's probably a limitation of the system. As for them using howitzers, while not practical, it also gives the boomers a mythical-like status, making it a very unattractive target for anyone who would consider a full scale raid. That coupled with the fact that their a people who simply love explosions, a more practical system of mines/snipers wouldn't fit. Considering their disdain for the world outside their walls, having to replace mines also would mean additional vulnerability - which is simply avoided by killing anything with long range artillery in the first place. It is of course a plot device.. and the Boomers haven't been there for 200 years, I think just before or after Vegas lit up is the official story? I utterly agree with the non-stealth aspect - 100 Sneak and a stealthboy should get past most non-electronic means. However I just ran down the main road (reload at the ready) in light armour (leather at the time) and all weapons put away - ran up to the front gate and didn't get scratched in any playthrough. As for not making sense to waste (not)200 years wowrth of ammo and not using mines and boobytraps, I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find other 'doesn't make sense' situations in the game? I can think of dialogue options for a start! Places you can freely enter without fear of retribution when I thought I'd have to be careful or I'll be shot on sight. Rooms (casinos, many houses - some do say something though) I can enter and the occupants thinking it quite normal I'm there. Completeing a quest or saying the right thing and getting a free key to a safe house. Why would things faction be doing this when they should be doing that? All plot device/lisence. :)
  11. It's been pretty much covered above in various places - my PC's in the playthroughs I've had is 1) Train Line - unequipe/holster weapon and just run until you see a fence and then walk along beide it to the gate (no need to enter tunnel, curve off to the left) 2) Main Road In: unequipe/holster weapon and just run up to the gate. No GOD mode/cheats or drugs. I do wear light armour and the companions were automatically set to essential - if not essential, make them stay behind until you Meet The Boomers. First time I did the 'run for the gate and see what happens tactic', they were surprised I ran through the barrage and so was I! Used the same tactic every other time and not once needed Med-X or stimmies or food/water - still never recieved a scratch. No cheats used. Companions may be rendered unconscious... but the get better.* *Disclaimer: Companions may die if not essential.
  12. Considering the librality of the FO series, I was surprised that there hasn't been some bloke in a dress in this gmae that you have to deal with - supermutants don't count. And a gain, a shemale wouldn't surprise me - though I have never personally met or counselled a shemale, I have met and dealt with transexuals both pre- and post-operative, Transvestites, gays, lesbians, straights, fetishists, bi's, BDSM'ers - almost the lot you might say. As a professional, I don't judge. I'd be happy to encounter a Lady GoGo or GooGoo as I also, like Wayne, appreciate the humour which is sorely lacking in FO3 & NV. And although I happily play alternating gender PC's - male this game, female next, etc. - each time I play through FO (any), I don't believe I would play an hermaphrodite.
  13. I'm pretty sure there is something similar to he Groovatron and perhaps Groovy Followers already here? Unlike one of the better posters who repond, I don't recall the name nor do I know the link. But if you look about, I'm sure you will find at least those two (Groovatron might not be the same name, but it may be a port?).
  14. Brilliant response from you pair... I have the GECK, I'm up to giving this a go myself! Thank you. :)
  15. You'll apprcieate these links even more, I feel they're close to what your looking for. Multi follower control interface for giving radio commands to up to eight different companions. Remote Control Companions - Beta Enclave Commander V1 Hopefully from these you can somewhat get what you want, or at least a better idea of it. A tad more complicated for what I'd need. I don't want to call in air support or tell companions exactly what I want them to do... to a degree :whistling: , I just want something that will 'unstick' a trapped companion from half inside a rock and the like without having to fast travel or leave a room and go back to where I was. Something like an item in my inventory (like Bella's Glasses from the Bella's Bunka mod) that will just 'teleport' my companion next to me and out of that piece of furniture they become grafted to... But thank you for the effort, it is not un-appreciated I can promise you. :)
  16. IIRC, way back in FO1 & 2, you had the option to barter with almost everyone in the wastelands. You could click on almost any NPC you encountered and trade the useless (to the player) stuff you pick-up for the occasional stimpac, weapon, ammo, etc. Oft times I wished it was present in FO3 & NV too. I stumbled across this http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35609#fileanchor recently and it sort of goes in that direction but is broken on several levels. 1) It only works (apparently) on those 'special' NPC's with dialogue options and not just the everyday random NPC's. 2) There is no barter or trade, just let's see what you have and let me take it from you for free, no cost to me, and you just don't care - just take that quest item if I like... 3) Some NPC's get stuck in dialogue and the player has no escape option other than reloading from a previous save. 4) Because of this alleged dialogue glitch, it makes completing some quests impossible to further (triggers are lost?). I'd like a mod that will make everything on 'normal' NPC's such as wanders, townfolk, non-hostile raiders, troopers, etc. to be playable and therefore barterable; caps, weapons, ammo, armour, whatever they have on them, I can buy or trade for. Is this doable without breaking the game mechanics?
  17. Yes, I mentioned it to someone in another thread that I would have like to have seen at least (to paraphrase myself) a dirty bandage wrap about the temple you start with as a hat. :)
  18. Thanks for that Wayne, much appreciated. :)
  19. I had read some time ago that Japan has a problem with this, that many resosurces are invested on not just making robots that look like real fish, dogs, people, etc., but that it is believed that if they become as common as they are in anime and Manga, that people will turn their romantic desires towards these machines! LOL Though it isn't so funny when you think that there are companies that make life like sex mannequins that aren't just your average blow-up dolls but can pass as a real woman at close distance, and hundreds are sold to private homes every year (I think they cost about as much as buying a car!!!?)... some people are that lonely or have just that sort of interest... I happily counsel someone on them not being wierd for likeing to dress up in Star Wars costumes with out the need of a Con or fancy dress party, I can counsel they are not wierd because the like to be tied up and spanked , I can counsel they are not strange because the like the smell of people's farts (Marilyn Munro liked that - good enough for her, good enough for you), but I'd have to suggest to them that they do need human affection over a machine or doll at this time in human history - all sorts of issues about attachement, affection, probably get very Freudian if I have to look right into it! But in the wastelands now... that would be a different thing all together... (Oh yeah, in RPG PnP games like Traveller, you could once get a 15mm miniature that was a sexy female sexbot - so yeah, sci-fi, anime, Manga, Hentai, and FO [i would assume], robot relationships would be quite acceptable  )
  20. And if nobody's said it before simplywayne (can I call you sim for short? ), you do what you do bloody well! When someone makes a request (myself included), I look forward to you responding as you often link to something that is very near suitable and acceptable (or best ya gonna get). Please keep up the good worka nd check this http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/271093-phone-a-friend/page__p__2440770__fromsearch__1#entry2440770 posted by me for any of your suggestions?
  21. Most certainly. It's the vibe more than anything. For heaven's sake, look at the rescources the NCR has at it's disposal and look at the almost cobbled equipment they have (which is actually referred to about recruits having what they can get). Nothing fancy. And as for the Legion, they are in the more 'unsettled' regions with tribes united under Caesar's banner - I assume 90% of them are uneducated thugs and simple tribesman as per the FO ethos. In fact his minters (with possibly an old bottlecap press or two?) are 50% of his artisans? I don't see they have much of the resources required? There would be a small army of scavengers scouring the wastes for useful pieces of armour and another small army of women and/or slaves to put it together. I even imagine that recruits may have to find half of their own armour and cobble it together - the only reason it is not shown in game is because the arts department aren't going to draw hundreds of different armours just for that individual look. And that is just my take on it, I don't see any of the tribes having the skill to make chainmail on the scale suggested (and I know people that make the stuff and the time it takes)?
  22. I thought I had read somewhere, complaints about there be no random encounters whatsoever in FNV? As you wander you encounter placed spawn points (like a nearby Legion camp, a drive-in (Vipers you are thinking about, they are at the drive-in I mention - not the one near Primm though), Powder Ganger Camp, casador nest, scorpion nest, etc. Kill what is there continue on your way and when the cell reloads (I believe), and you return, the baddies are back. Then, as the original poster is saying, when you fast travel and onbviously seem to have passed through that area again, you don't even get the damn spawned raiders! Heh, in the old FO1 & 2 and Tactics, sometimes your fast travel would be interupted for somethng quite offbeat (based upon your luck) which was equal to the new Wild Wastelands trait, which I don't bother taking any more as it is a waste and the 'wildness' is pretty much lame. Anyone remember the 'nude' drawing you found from the Titanic movie? It did make me chortle. :)
  23. I was going to reply in a similar vein - horses are exceptionally weak for what they are and can do. I felt that they never made it into any of the FO franchise because they would have been all but exterminated by contamination, with those that survived having been to weak to bread or perhaps sterile, and any left before they were all gone would have been a limited food source.
